Buds too mature in the middle of flowering time (trichomes milky/amber)

My Laughing Buddha is into flowering for 55 days now.The breeder says that flowering time takes 65-70 days. The trichomes on the main cola look like 60ish % milky - 40% amber. I know about head and body high trichome color ratios and wanted to ask why it looks so mature that early

2cents -- don't choose this if thining that at end, as i'm ineligible for the 'contest' related to these solutions... Is it growing a ton of new stigma (or pistils as some call them)? If so, you may end up with an entire layer of new bracts and immature trichomes on top of them. Was it ripe, and then started growing stigma? rhetorical questions - devil's advocate type thing. If it's the first, then i'd wait and see a bit. If it's the second, it may have been "done" and now it's freaking out throwing new stigma growth as last ditch effort to get knocked up. Another behaviour you can consider is how much water is it drinking? if it stopped drinking water, it's nearing death, i think. Anyway, how this all came about over time may help you lean toward one answer or another. if it ends up being a bit more ripe than normal, it's good learning experience about another part of the harvest window.. never know until you try. I try to avoid couchlock ripeness too, but i have dobuts about anything based upon people's volatile perceptions. Unless you are running extractions and analyzing with gc machine etc etc we have no idea what the contents are beyond a wild guess. Could only be based on correlation too. Such a lack of research exists on the subject.

@Nobody01 as usual a very insightful and thought provoking answer :) The Laughing Buddha didn't produce any new pistils. It's only started getting noticably bigger after adding AN Overdrive about 4 days ago, but after looking at yesterdays closeups I was kind of shocked that so many trichs were amber. This Laughing Buddha is indeed near the led lights (only 35cm between'em) because all other plants in my tent are significantly smaller (but not bud wise). So the lights might really cooked the trichs on top of main colas. I also "heavily" overdid nutrients and boosters about 2-3 weeks ago which also might have an impact on the growth I didn't know about. Well it's all a learning curve here on this first grow so I don't mind fucking things up once in a while :) I'll have to take a shitload of pictures of every cola and smaller buds and check them all out to see which are ready for harvest because from what I've seen yesterday only the one at the top are that much amber.

I thank you so much for your answers. It's very insightful! I'll take it all into consideration on my next grow. I think the best thing I can do now is to just chop the main colas down and let the rest ripen a little longer because only a few show signs of being ready for harvest! Thanks again @Pmal027 , @gmslave and @The8thChevron you guys rock!

Very likely to be either too much air flow speeding up the oxidation, or too much heat or light basically cooking the thc.

I would say that you were running your nutes to high for hydroponics. The max ec I ran in hydro was 1.8 ec in flower. To high of an ec slows bud growth, turns pistols red way to soon and starts the ripening process to soon. Next run start your flower nutes at 1.2 ec and every week until you reach 1.8 ec max, if you need to go that high. Cheers friend

A lot of different factors can affect the total time. The most common is actually that the plant didn't get stressed out so it finishes earlier. Pollination can make them finish early too and heat/ light stress. Either way, you can harvest the main cola and still let the others finish at their own pace.
