Hello. Yes, succulents are different. They don't grow very fast, so they don't need a lot of nitrogen There is food just for succulents called Cactus Juice. Succulents like well-drained soil. So, add some sand or small rocks for drainage. Those clay pots are no good for plants. the nutrient salts accumulate in the inside of the clay and make it hard/toxic for the roots to grow there. The leaves grow in a tight group and the older leaves will die, it's normal. I'd like to ask, what do you think is wrong with the plant. It looks like you might have got it recently. Chuck.

I'm going to echo my growmie here... it definitely needs a slightly bigger pot and one with a hole in the bottom to get rid of excess water... all the yucca plants I've dealt with, the one common cause of wilting and defoliation has been overwatering... Bigger pot, less water... she should be fine as I've seen yuccas in FAR worse condition come back with ease.... Good luck!

give it a bigger pot with new soil, stop over watering it, it will perk up almost instantly (i hope!)
