flushing for a harvest is an urban myth perpetuated by ppl that hypothesized why it helped, then never proved it. when it was tested, the primary reason - reducing mineral content in buds - is fairly confidently shown to be false. blind taste tests show ppl cannot discern between flushed and unflushed... this truly is the case of the emperor has no clothes... those that cling to it is yet another example of similar behaviour repeating throughout history ad nauseum. (... and, many more doomed to repeat it in future) when someone gives a list of reasons, then has to rescind those reasons in the face of experimentation, then chooses to make up new reasons not mentioned previously... it should be a giant red flag with neon lights flashing around it and a big 'ol lit up giant arrow blinking on and off next to caption that says "bullshit" as far as darkness.. supposedly an informal test was done and they did test for potency, but did they account for mass lost? deprive a plant or human of food and it will lose mass (aka weight in common terms, which "weight" is really measuring gravity) So many variables to accont for that 1 sloppy test isn't enough to be confident (unlike mineral content of plant mass which is easily discerned with black and white results). also, just how much is 1-2 days going to impact a plant that's been ripening for months? talking few percent even if it does help.. a few percent of 20-something percent? that wouldn't even increase potency from 21% to 22%. is it worth the risk to do something that's a maybe? whereas 1-2 days of darkness definitely has a negative impact, even if also small. in the end.. a lot of what ppl do is more about making them feel better and not much value added to the garden, lol... lots of "Bruh Science" out there.... bruh, really.. c'mon... i read it on the internet.

I don't flush, but I use fully organic living soil. I also don't need to keep giving my plants nutrients deep into flowering stage. I usually stop feeding and give just water after week 6 or 7, due to the medium I use. The plants will never miss the feedings because my soil is usually primed with all the nutrients it could need until harvest. When it comes to darkness before chop, that's a big batch of Bro-Science. Plants don't create trichomes I the dark. They need to be photosynthesizing in order to make more trichomes. It won't give you more weight, it won't develop more trichomes, it won't help boost flavor, and it won't make your buds smoke smoother. oops... it said "Flashing" -- the plants i have grown aren't into that sort of thing, but if you find they enjoy it.. go for it. What you do in the privacy of your home with your plants is up to you. Maybe, you'll find a preacher's daughter type plant... they tend to be into weird stuff.

cutting feed out for 2 weeks prior to harvest ouch... buds develop size, potency and terpenes all the way until the end. Some terps don't develop until very late flowering. Taking away all the nutrients for 2 weeks of very important development doesn't make sense. It doesn't smoke better, it doesn't taste better, but if it makes you feel better, do it.

don't do it. only potential for negatives. no positives for leaving the plant in the dark for 48 hours. Flushing.... plenty of data around that shows it doesn't work with actual testing of the nutrient content in the plants buds. If flushing was so important every other agriculture industry would do so and they don't. Cannabis is special, but not that way. A lot of the cookie cutter grow sites and bulk seed "breeders" still have this bs on their site so people believe it. Anyone who tells you otherwise just ignores the data or doesn't know how to feed properly so they get a benefit out of flushing... to much feed so they have an insane buildup of nutrients in their substrate.

Oh there is controversy over both topics. If growing organic you won't need to flush. If not organic then a 2 week flush and fade time is ideal. Now 48 hour darkness I personally do, and I have been growing for several years. The main points there will be if it makes it more potent and no lab results etc. I do it to start purging the flowers of chlorophyll, and sugars. I have tried it both ways. To me I prefer doing it. Flower seems to smoke smoother with dark time. You can easily test this on your own and make you own decisions after one grow. Good luck 👍🏻

si....e si ma bastano 24 ore di buio la pianta raggiunge il suo massimo thc all'accensione delle luci dopo essere stata al buio quindi se prolunghi è meglio..
