I'm 4 weeks into my grow. Is it too soon to trim some leaves so that other parts get enough light?

Just remember - Less leaves = less energy being made = less growth. Defoliation is not a necessary part of cannabis cultivation, unless there are problems. Try to only ever remove yellow leaves, for by the time they are yellow, they have served their purpose. Besides, if your plant would not NEED those leaves, it would not grow them in the first place!

From the data I have collected it is always better not to apply HST techniques to autoflowering plants, instead try with LST that does not create excessive stress on the plant

The only time I defoliate a plant is when it is in flower and need to get light to the lower buds OR increase the airflow if the plant is particularly bushy... This is a judgement call on your part, mate... If you decide to defoliate, do just a little at a time so you don't stress the plant too much... but have a good, SOLID reason for doing so! Good luck!

I always remove fan leaves along the way up to week 6, I do a heavy defoliation week 2 and around week 5 but fan leaves one or two I can remove anytime
