Therefore, a plant with healthy, oxygenated roots performing efficient aerobic respiration in addition to the rest of the plant's cellular respiration has a much greater overall ATP production and energy capacity. A soil without organic matter will generally have a low Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). Biochar is often prized for its potential to increase soil cation exchange capacity (CEC), but this effect is highly dependent on the specific properties of the biochar (feedstock and pyrolysis temperature) and the soil type to which it is applied. High-ash biochars, especially those produced at lower temperatures and applied to acidic or sandy soils, can significantly boost CEC by providing abundant binding sites for cations like calcium (Ca²⁺), magnesium (Mg²⁺), and potassium (K⁺). Biochar is more sustainable than typical organic matter for long-term soil improvement primarily due to its high stability and resistance to microbial decomposition, allowing it to persist in the soil for hundreds to thousands of years. This longevity provides a lasting positive effect on soil properties, particularly by increasing the cation exchange capacity (CEC) over time, while regular organic matter breaks down much faster. Biochar generally offers a much higher CEC than coco coir, though specific values vary greatly; while coco coir might sit around 40-60 cmol/kg, biochar can range from tens to over 200 cmol/kg, with sources like Acacia wood biochar or even coconut shell biochar often surpassing coco's capacity due to its porous structure, creating significantly more cation-binding sites for nutrients, making it superior for nutrient retention. Needs to be charged similar to coco but at a much higger rate. But shhhh.. It's a secret. Ancient biochar-rich soils in the Amazon basin (known as Terra Preta) provide evidence of carbon stability lasting over 500 to 2,000+ years. Recommend a balanced ratio of key cations, particularly calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and potassium (K). A widely accepted general "ideal soil" cation saturation ratio is approximately 65-85% Ca, 6-12% Mg, and 2-5% K. That's roughly what I give mine. Can even add N in its NH4+ form

Welcome to my Strawberry Cola Auto by Exotic Seeds Both SCA are nearly on the same track. I uprooted 1 and decided to put them both into 1 8L pot. As the plants grow i'll LST them 1 to 1 corner and 1 at the other end. Before they progress too much into their veg, the 8L of soil in an 18L pot. Without disturbing the soil as much as possible. I have something i put down the sides of the pot and upturn them bringing out the whole base of the substrate sides without the sub falling away from the sides, then they'll be transferred directly into an 18L pot. Lifting the sides up, and hopefully this will hinder any excess stress that you don't want to put on any auto as it'll most likely stunt them and hinder their possibility of giving a substantial harvest. Both seeds are on days 5-7. The 7 day old one was uprotted, so I expect a day or 2 stun, so they should be on or near the same growth rate. So far, I really like the way these autos are growing. I had fastbuds straw cola and tbh, I'm not a big fan of this flavour so, hopefully this strain will have something that charges my perspective. 2/1 - 2/4: I ended up feeding the BJ's and GG's once more, and just plain water for the Zenzations. Moved the to Zenzations into the dark on the night of 2/4 and will harvest them tomorrow (Friday). I'll flush the others tomorrow and probably harvest them next weekend. 2/5: Both Zenzations are having their last bit of beauty sleep before they get trimmed up, cut, washed, and hung to dry. 2/6: Harvested both Zenzations....damn they smell wonderful and have amazing frost! 2/8: Watered the BJ's and GG's today with LiquidSoil. Will flush them really well in a couple more days and probably harvest this weekend...time's up bitches, better put on your lipstick and get ready for the big party!

Topped the other 2 branches and kept her pinned down, getting somebody nice growth going now, steady away nothing flash but it's all good. Not far off flipping her, probably a couple weeks.

Day 65, 14th of November 2020: Amazing week.... RQS Wedding Gelato does not strech a lot and pistils coming out nicely.... Original Sensible Seeds has amazing gentics they are so strechy except Black Ghost OG, rest of them crazyyyyyyy..... I also broke two of the sides from Gelato Original Sensible Seeds but fixed with tape and now all good lol 🤣🤣🤣 Pre flowers out and I really hope they stop growing lol. I also noticed that the Original Sensible Seeds strains have nice purple colours of the fan leave's stem. All the same fertilization happens every 2nd day with the mix above and ratio. One more thing: I set the lamp 15 minutes shorter to switch off earlier so they receive 11:45 of darkness. I would like to imitate the nature when longer nights come with time till the 4th week (when they will receive 13 hours darkness a day 15 minutes minus 4 times = 1hour) so every week 15 min longer darkness for 4 weeks and then back to 12/12 to have bigger buds from the 4th week....

Day 34... I bought organic fertilizer from a local vendor last week. I gave a cup of to each plant and fed it twice with tea which I made from this fertilizer. (EC 950ppm) It's rocks.. . Includes, NPK15-15-15, mychorazee, 15 type bacteria, micro and macro elements,enzymes and so on.. And ıts like 10$ for 12 kg dry compost, a cup makes more than 15lt solution💯🌱🤘 FBT29, They were under a lot of stress by my dog. They're packing, but they're a little behind their sisters. FBT32 is going really well, nothing to say.. Tangie lost a few leaves during this feeding and Mexican Airlines had some light stress cause It's getting hot in here. . So these two plants are the most sensitive... Now they're only going to feed with tea, this is all organic from now....

Plant has started to flower, plant will be flowering under the Mars TS600. Plant has developed very nicely in quite a short period of time. Leaf looks nice and healthy and plants looks happy overall.

Esa familia, estamos de vuelta, actualizando la 4 semana de floración de las Zkittalicious de Exotic seeds. Y de primeras , estoy sorprendido con la velocidad y el ritmo de floración de los 2 ejemplares, son muy rapidas. Están repletas de tricomas y ya empiezan a brillar, las flores están engordando y formándose perfectamente, tanto colas principales como colas laterales. La verdad se ven bastantes flores estoy muy contento. Ams M.O.A.B got chop down no wet weight taken. Her smell is of a citrus blueberry with a fuel smell. Yield was lost due to errors made in the water res system other then that everything turn out amazing. The UFL3000 light system did a amazing job on bud production an bud density.

Day 28 - Got other nutrients today. Will be using them for the rest of the grow. Plant keeps doing well in development, although the rust spots have progressed a little more. With the nutrients I'm hoping this will stop now (CaMg-Boost). Controlled also the EC and PH values of the run-off. EC Runoff @ 1.9 (little high), PH Runoff @ 6.25 (little low). The side nodes have grown a LOT. They were sturdy enough to where it seemed a good idea to do some more LST. Day 30 - Watered again, soil was dry even past my knuckle and could see that on the bottom it was dry as well (container is clear on the bottom). Only used a bit of Alga-C and Flower-C because it looks like there might be some nutrient burn on the tips of two leaves (see photo). Otherwise the flowers are continuing to develop well. Day 31 - Starting to see the beginnings of a clear color change 😍
