Day 26 – On the Verge of Flowering We’re now on Day 26 of the grow, and the Sweet Skunk Automatic is entering a critical stage. After nearly four full weeks of vegetative growth, the plant continues to appear healthy and structurally compact. Leaf growth remains vigorous, and the internodal spacing is still tight—a good indicator of strong light exposure and stable environmental conditions. This week marks the likely transition period into the early flowering stage, which typically begins around week 4 to 5 for this autoflowering strain. While no pistils are visible yet, we expect the first signs of pre-flowering to appear within the next few days. Weather Recap & Outlook The past week brought mixed conditions—cool nights and scattered showers slowed growth slightly but didn’t cause any stress symptoms. Now, a more favorable pattern is setting in: ‱ Daytime highs are climbing steadily toward 24–26°C ‱ Nighttime lows remain above 10°C, reducing root zone stress ‱ Plenty of sunshine is forecasted for the coming days, especially mid to late week These improved conditions should provide the perfect push for the plant to fully enter bloom. We’ll be watching closely for the first white hairs and signs of stretching. The stage is set. If everything stays on track, we’ll enter the flowering chapter of this grow very soon

Hello Growmies, The final chapter of this incredible journey has unfolded, and it's time to share the bountiful harvest and reflections on the entire cultivation process. Trimming the plant was a joy, and with gentle fingers, I removed all the large fan leaves. The precision in this process revealed the true beauty of the buds, setting the stage for a smooth harvest. With care and gratitude, the plant was chopped, and the buds were hung to dry. The anticipation for what lies ahead only adds to the sense of accomplishment. The wet weight, excluding fan leaves, stands at an impressive 782 grams. The buds are massive, a testament to the efficacy of the nutrients used, particularly the Power Buds. The name seems apt, as the result is a collection of sticky, dense buds with subtle lemon notes and sweet pungent undertones. In the final moments, the plant unveiled some delightful purple hues. While I wish I could have allowed them to intensify further, it's a reminder that each grow is a learning experience. In hindsight, a slightly longer fading period would have accentuated those beautiful colors. We live and learn, and that's the essence of this journey. A heartfelt thank you to Plagron and Zamnesia for hosting this amazing contest. The quality of the products and the support throughout the journey have been invaluable. As this chapter concludes, I'm left with a sense of fulfillment and gratitude for the collective experience we've shared. The plant's growth, from seed to harvest, has been a testament to the art and science of cultivation. Feel free to check out my other adventures in my bigger environments, until then...happy growing! I'm going away for 30 days about a week into this grow. I'm going to automate weeks 1 through 5 by using the Blumat watering system along with the automated fan from AC Infinity. Hopefully, these will keep things going while I'm gone. I've never used the Blumat products before and I'm excited to see their potential. If I succeed, I'll return to happy 5-week old plants. If not, I'll have to start a new grow...which is what I was going to do anyway. I have nothing to lose but a couple of seeds. Let's get this automated grow started. Day 1 - I placed the seeds directly in a fist-sized clump of Coast of Maine Seed Starter soil that was then placed in a 3-gallon pot full of Coast of Maine Stonington Blend. This will ensure the seedling doesn't get exposed to the nutrient-rich soil too soon. I set the light 2 feet above the top of the pots so they have room to grow into the 18" to 12" range. I also set the light strength to 60% during germination. The temperature in the tent remained 75 degrees and humidity was 70%. I also covered the soil over the germinating seeds with mason jars to act as humidity domes. Day 4 - Both pots sprouted this morning. I immediately removed the mason jar humidity domes. I also increased the light to 70% strength and installed the Blumat watering system to help me keep things growing while I'm gone.

Nov 20 - Watered Older plant at 8.30AM. Both plants are bulking up nicely. I think this will be the last week before they get the chop! Also Defoliated wilted leaves and burnt tips. Nov 21 - Cloudier trichomes, amber heads and some decapitated stalks. In harvest window. Just want the youngest colas to develop a bit further. Nov 22 - Watered Younger Plant at 10AM, defoliated wilted leaves as usual. Should water Older Plant today with some defoliation. There are more wilted leaves on older plant. Senescence started on Younger plant approximately a week ago and is prevalent on a few top colas on Younger Plant. Nov 23 - Older Plant watered at 9.30AM. Likely underwatered by half a day or so. Trichomes are still glassy. Nov 24 - Observed older plant trichomes, they're mainly cloudy with some amber. I will likely chop the older plant tomorrow morning. I'll give the younger plant another week and will water today - as GD member outlined pistil development is not finalized. Nov 25 - Chopped older plant at 5AM, trying to limit light. She's suspended upside down on a wire that I'm 50% sure will hold. Drying environment is Fridge set to 60F with roughly 60RH. Nov 26 - Harvested at 5AM. Plant fell down a couple times upside down due to poor rail made of gardening wire. I switched to paper bags which should be better for humidity control too. A very rough almost unperceivable wet trim left colas weighing at approximately 130g. Watered Younger plant at 8PM.

D64. We're at the start of the fourth week of flower, and today was a busy day. First, I had to remove the old lights before swapping in the light from my auto tent. All while trying to avoid trashing the plants in the way too full tent. Not an easy task. The entire mission, with changing the light in the auto tent as well, took a couple of hours. I wish I could keep the Greenception lights in the tent as they're high-quality lights, but the Kingbrite has a much lower profile and thus takes up much less space. Space that I desperately need considering how insanely much these girls stretched. One of the tops on the second girl has unfortunately already been bunt by being too close to the light, and I'm sure I will run into light bleaching and probably foxtailing as the grow progress, but I hope I will be able to pull it off with the Kingbrite light. I also added some wire support to the branches that I super-cropped, as they looked somewhat sad after all the abuse to the canopy while swapping the lights. ------------------------------ D66. It looks like the girls have FINALLY stopped stretching. Phew! Yesterday, I gave each girl 2.5 liters of water @ pH 6.2 with humic acid and EM-1. Today, the green lacewing larvae (Chrysoperla Carnea) arrived, and I dispersed them in the tent to deal with the thrips. ------------------------------ D68. All is well in the tent, but now when the thrips are (hopefully) under control, it's time to address the VPD. It has gotten seriously out of wack due to dropping temps, plus I increased the humidity to make the environment more inhospitable for the thrips. The temps were low due to the light change as the new one is running a lot cooler, but the temps have also dropped outside. The heating in the lungroom has been off until now, so I turned that on and lowered the humidity threshold on my exhaust fan. Finally, I put my small humidifier in the tent, generating extra heat and decreasing the humidity. So far, the VPD has increased from a terrible 0.4-0.5 to an acceptable 0.9, and I'm hoping it will increase further as the ambient RH drops as we move into winter. ------------------------------ D70. We're at the end of the fourth week of flower, and all is well in the tent. The VPD has gone up to 1.0, which is a nice improvement to what it was only a couple of days ago. I haven't scouted yet for thrips, but I will give the lacewings a couple of days to do their thing and then look closer. However, I went to WAR against the spider mites we have in our ornamental plants in the apartment. I sprayed all plants with my homemade pesticide (capsaicin, alcohol, horticultural soap.) since I had it at hand. If that fails to knock the spider mites back, I'll bring out the neem oil instead. The infestations aren't bad (yet), but it would suck to get mites into my tents, so better to be proactive. ------------------------------

Just finishing week 2 of flower. All trimming has been completed on the lower branches. Had a slight Calcium deficiency, due to a mix-up with nutrients. Girls are back on track and looking great. Stay tuned as these girls are going to stack up nicely

Hi guys! This is my first grow ever. For this round I'll have 2 Northern Light Auto from WeedSeedShop (WSS). I'm so psych. 😝😁 I'm making the most off the current situation by realizing a long lasting dream off mine. For your knowledge, I'm using a 60x60x160cm grow tent, 2 small fan, an 220m^3/h extractor (220/280) with a 400m^3/h Bull Filter. I'm also using a humidifier for day time and a dehumidifier for night time. The germination pots I used are 7x7x7cm. For the monitoring, I have a low cost meteo station with a remote sensor which is in my grow tent. I'll use BioBizz and GHE for my nuts and BioBizz Light Mix for the substrate. I'm planning to reuse it for my garden on my future grow. I bought an anaerobic composter to this effect. I hope to make around 2 ounce. Take care. Stay safe and masked.đŸ˜·

-Clones have been transplanted into 3.5" pots. The sixth plant eventually rooted however it was the smallest, was a backup, so I did not bother to transplant it. -Megacrop amounts above are actually g/gal, not tsp/gal. I do wish Grow Diaries would add mass for us dry soluble nutrient addicts. -Mother is doing fine, I took a second set of cuttings off her for a local buddy who would like to grow her out as well. -The mother has also given me a good idea of what to expect later on in veg when I begin training. -Grow will eventually be planted in 5-gal fabric pots then moved to a 4x4 tent w/ Autopots and a 650w 3000K LED Bars for further training and flowering. -I intend on offsetting the transplants, bending the girls over for LST, and eventually train under a scrog net in the flower tent. The mother seems to support this training as that is what I did with her to reduce height yet maximize the number of cuttings I could harvest quickly.
