Your plant will be much healthier and happier if given a normal routine of awake/sleep/awake/sleep. Going to 18/6 is optimum for all cannabis, autos or photoperiod plants in vegetative growth. Living under a very unnatural constant lights on environment will stress your plants immensely. Nothing on Planet Earth has ever evolved to function without sleep and cannabis is no exception to this rule. Cannabis does need to "sleep" and undertake certain metabolic processes. Without sleep, it can not do these processes, meaning your plant is living unhealthily and an unhealthy plant can not grow or flower to the best of its ability. Despite what you may have read or been told, constant 24 hour light is detrimental to your plants health and 18/6 is very much the optimum light/dark cycle for cannabis and has been derived at through 80+ years of research and is not a random number. Constant 24 hour light day in day out would only be recommended by people who don't care about their (or your) plants health, or by people who do not understand how plants grow and function. Most probably both. You will not lose yield, growth or quality by going to 18/6, most probably these three things will all be better, as your plant will be much healthier once you go to 18/6 and stop "torturing" it with a sleepless and stressful routine. It can not survive properly without sleep. Hope this lecture helps,......... Organoman. (and protector of circadian rhythms!)

I personally have had very good results with a 24h light cycle. I do however grow my autos in dwc hydro buckets. Autos are actually crossed with the the ruderalis plant, which is also part of the cannabis family. These plants do not need a change in light cycle to flower and thus it isn’t crucial for a 18/6 schedule. This would mostly just save money on electricity costs etc. I have grown fastbuds autos with 18/6, 20/4 and 24 cycles and personally found my best results and turn around time without any dark period. When growing photoperiod plants I would however not recommend vegging with a 24h cycle. These are however only my personal experiences and it is not set in stone. Good luck and happy growing.
