Nice buds forming on #1, #2 still slow but hanging in there. Had some heat and humidity issues, didn't seem to phase #1. Smells great but noticed overbearing yet. I'm guesstimating another 4 to 5 weeks on #1, then flush. We'll see.

Grow Questions

Question about drain and fill frequency. I have my top tray set so solution comes right to the bottom of 2x2 rockwool cubes. Everything seems to be working OK so far and I am filling and draining once an hour for 15 minutes. Do I need to cycle so often?

It actually depends on a few factors, like the media you are using. A fast draining media will require more frequent floods; on the other side a media that retains more water, will require less frequent floodings. Also, warmer temperatures will require more frequent waterings. What you must keep in mind is that the roots must never dry out and let your plants health be your guide From your pictures you are using hydroton, right? Try flooding for 15 min every 2 hours. You will have to dial your system from there; if you notice it is thirsty, flood more often (but keep the 15 min flood time), over watered? flood every 3 hours.

Just be careful of pests. If your medium is constantly wet, pests will infest your room unless you have your environment dialled in.

After some experimenting I spread the cycle out every every 6 hrs. With incredible results. I was way overwatering, coupled with a slightly acidic solution was stressing the girls in an obvious way. I pretty much locked out iron/ magnesium / calcium/ sulfur. Dialed in now and growing at a ridiculous rate. I Fimmed both girls last night (kinda regretting that already) and both are starting to flower after just 27 days. And they're starting to smell nice also😋

Thanks that makes sense. I started over analyzing stuff and forget the KISS rule lol. I'll spread it out to once every 2 hours and just see how they respond, and adjust as necessary. My grow room temp can run pretty warm depending on the weather so I may have to invest a little dough into maintaining ambient temp soon. I've got another soil grow going in same room and the early summer heat has already given me some issues. I have good air movement and RH stays pretty stable in upper 40's/ lower 50's. Best investment I've made so far was the cooltube. That helped a ton.
