Introduction - Week 03 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 9762.49, Wow what a week of growth! This is the second week under the 12/12 light cycle and basically the end of the stretch phase. Stopped tucking and have been completely surprised on how fast growth has been. By the end of the week, tops are just everywhere! Fed organic bloom nutrients but have mainly been feeding water only. Was running the light at the lowest level, but increased the intensity a bit (now at level 2 out of 10). Bud growth is also starting to develop nicely and can already see pistil hairs starting to shoot out! For the 3x3 veg tent, been watering as needed and am trying to slow growth down. Had to super-crop one of them to keep height under control. Plan to take cuttings soon. Oh! Back in the 4x4 main tent. Decided to take a cutting from #4. Her growth has been healthy and vigorous for the second cycle so trying to preserve the genetics. So as far as keepers, she is one of my firsts! Anyways, Onwards Ensign! Engage! First the 2-day soak. --- Filled a measuring cup with 2 cups of distilled water. ------ Added 1/8tsp of Horticultural Aloe --- Mixed the solution and poured it straight into a solo cup. --- Marked the cup (#4) and set it aside. - [19:54]: Time to take the cutting! --- Using a pair of trimmers (AC Infinity), --- Gently cut a lower branch from the main stalk. Made sure that there was several nodes of growth and had little to no pistil hairs. --- Trimmed and cleaned most of the nodes leaving a few top nodes. --- Did not trim the leaf finger tips. --- Made sure the tip of the stalk had a slanted cut (about 45-degrees). --- Placed the cutting into the cup of aloe solution. --- Ended up removing about a half a cup of the solution. Also for added a binder clip for support. - [20:06]: Set the fresh cutting onto the floor of the 3x3 veg tent. --- Now the cutting is under 18/6 lighting. --- For some slight bottom insulation, placed the solo cup onto an upside-down drip tray. --- Going to let this cutting soak for a day before refreshing with straight distilled water. --- Let the 2-day soak begin! - [20:36]: Filled a pump sprayer with 5 cups of distilled water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto #1’s straw mulch. --- Focused mainly on the straw. - [21:00]: Repeated this process again for the original #2 and #4 pheno. --- Focused mainly on the straw. --- Oops! --- The #4 soil sensor was out of batteries (again) so swapped the battery out (again). - [21:01]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data once more: ------ 58% - [CH01 FP5 - Garlic Budder #1] ------ 49% - [CH02 FP5 - Original Garlic Budder #2] ------ 41% - [CH03 GR7 - Garlic Budder #3] ------ 40% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder #4] ------ 46% - [CH05 GR7 - Original Garlic Budder #2] ------ 43% - [CH06 GR7 - Original Garlic Budder #1] ------ 36% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 48% - [CH08 GR5 - Original Garlic Budder #1] - [21:12]: Checked on the vegging 3x3 tent, --- Growth is looking good! Have to keep her! --- Unfortunately this means one of the original #1 phenos will have to be culled. --- Essentially, the girls in the 3x3 tent are my first keepers (Garlic Budder OG#12, OG#1 x2, and #2). Plan to maintain each one by cloning and cycling them out as they get too tall. --- Going to veg the #4 cutting until she is fully rooted in a solo cup before culling one of the original #1 phenos. --- Anyways, next week begins the first week of flower! --- Steady as she grows Ensign. --- Onwards to next week.
