This is an unusual grow. I'm actually looking for a male in this case. These seeds are very old. Bagseed from 30 years ago, I consider them to be heritage seeds. As to their origin, I can only guess. Acapulco gold, Northern lights, Original skunk, Maui Wowwie, the possibilities are endless considering I have been consuming and saving seeds for over 40 years! So I set to popping the seeds and to my delight, I got 12 with strong roots and into small pots they went. I lost a few in those first few weeks, but now they are growing rapidly and are very robust. It seems to me that all 8 show stong Indica traits, but there are obviously several different strains in the mix, based on leaf shape, color density, and the way they are growing. Some immediately split into 2 branches at the top, others grow up first, and then split into opposing branches. So my eventual plan is to put them into early flower to locate a potential male. The females will be given away to friends and family and the male will be left to produce pollen, which will be collected and stored. After everything is finished, I will be starting a grow outdoors with 4 different modern feminized plants. One branch of each plant will eventually be pollenated, leaving the rest to continue as female only. If my plan works, by the fall I will have seeds from 4 modern plants crossed with a heritage male.I'm hoping to find something special in the mix, and bring back some old genetics at the same time!
