SleepyChow Hi Folks 👋🏼
Long time no see😂
You know how it is, guys. I just can’t help myself.😅
Shortly after the last grow, my fingers start itching again.
Just like last time, I’ve already prepared my soil and put the pots outside. Right now, I’m brewing a nice, light compost tea. For this auto run, I really don’t want to stress the plants with strong teas. That’s why there will only be three compost teas in total during the entire run, and all of them will be fairly mild. I’ll write down the exact recipe next time.
Of course, I’m reusing my old soil, which has been mulched with leftover plant material and branches from the previous grow.
For the start, I’ve prepared some jiffies. The seed will be placed in there, put into a propagation box, and kept warm with a heat mat set to 24°C. At the same time, I’ll already be running the light. One big advantage of jiffies is that they can be buried quite deep — they’re dark. Cannabis seeds are dark germinators, and with jiffies, this works perfectly fine even with the light on.
In past grows, I often had the problem that I didn’t turn the light on early enough and only noticed too late that my seeds had already germinated. Because of that, they immediately started stretching. It wasn’t a huge issue - I just buried the jiffies a bit deeper - but this time I want to see if I can prevent it right from the start.
Now a quick Strain Presentation:
🦍Gorilla Z Auto🍬
→Breeder:Fast Buds
→Heritage: GG4 Auto F6 x Z Auto F5
→Harvest: in ≈ 63 days
→Genetics: indica dominant 70/30
Fast Buds promise a very fast autoflower with a super high THC percentage of 28%

Day 1
Little Greta aka Gorilla Z saw the light of day today… well, the light of a 200-watt led lamp👶🏼😁
Seems like my light-from-day-one strategy with the jiffys worked out pretty well.
Her future home/big pot was already prepared four days ago. As mentioned, the pot is mulched with old leaf and stem material from the last run, given a gentle compost tea, and finished off with five tbsp of worm castings.
She will move in within this week.
AACT recipe (5l):
-5 tbsp worm castings
-1tsp malted barley
-1tsp molasses
See u mates👌🏼

Day 2
Hi Folks,
Today I decided it was finally time to pot up and transplant the girls. I inspected the pots beforehand. Fungal life is definitely present, and arthropods are still around as well. However, there was some fungal mycelium I wasn’t entirely sure about in terms of its physiological state. Any mycelium that showed blue discoloration was removed immediately, along with the material displaying those color changes.
I watered the pots once more beforehand and installed the Blumat system. At the bottom of the Jiffies and directly into the planting holes, I sprinkled mycorrhizal and Trichoderma spores, using the Hubey Micorrhiza Spreader😬 I reduced the light intensity down to 40% ( 50% is recommended by Spider Garmer for its lamp in this phase) because the first leaves started to develop white tips.

SleepyChow Hi folks 👋🏼
The Gorilla Z is 6 days old today and she’s doing pretty well. She’s developing almost normally, looks vital and strong, and handled the transplant into the big pot without any big issues💪🏼her stem purpled a bit but nothing special.no big deal.
Two days after planting, I watered her with 333 ml of water in a radius of about 12 cm around the stem. The water was mixed with Root·Juice (stock solution: 1 liter of dechlorinated water with 4 ml Root·Juice) to give root development a little kickstart and help Rita settle into her new home. Root·Juice contains algae extracts and humic acids (plus small amounts of calcium, magnesium and iron), which are very beneficial for that purpose😬
Since I was a bit concerned that 4 ml (the upper limit according to the BioBizz schedule) might be a bit much for autos, I followed up three days later with another 333 ml of plain dechlorinated water. Greta continues to grow strong and physiologically healthy. She stretched a bit more than expected, so i increased the light intensity to 60%. Spider Farmer recommends around 75% at this stage, but I usually do better with a gentler increase in light strength.
Today I applied another 333 ml of a solution containing roughly 1.5 million nematodes per liter of water and also distributed predatory mites on the soil surface. I had already spotted a few predatory mites in my pots over the last days, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to reinforce them. These mites basically establish themselves in the soil and can live there for generations as long as there’s enough food available. Truly awesome beneficial insects🙏🏼
I have to admit, my fingers are itching already - I’m really looking forward to the moment when I can start bending and shaping Greta a bit
See u 👍🏼

SleepyChow Day 14
Hi Folks and welcome to our Bondage andventure😁 Greta is doing fine, nice dark green color, normally developed stem👌🏼The leaves may be a little small🤔maybe the soil is to wet for her,so i set the Blumat lower. It could also be the genetics. i dont think its zinc deficit. And the Soil is pretty airy,i could easily insert my fingers. 😎 so it also isnt a too solid soil which cause the little leaves.Nevertheless i trained her stem a little. On Day 11 i bent her to the right side, towards the edge of her pot.Next day i let her strech out and since Yesterday, day 13,shes bent to the left side, towards the middle of the pot. And she takes it all in stride, showing no signs of stress💪🏼i decided for now to just Lst her.Im not very confident with only this training method,i like topping and mainlining way more. But she didnt stretched as much as in her first week,so i think and hope, LST could be enough.maybe i top her in a few days, maybe not.im still undecided🤷🏼♂️ im a little traumatised by a Blueberry auto by FB which got frecking huge😱 the growth and the effects were very sativa like.not what i expected.
There are some ways to control the height of ur Autoflower and break the apical dominance to help the side branches to develope:
- LST +Scrog
-early Topping (yea,also autoflowers)
-early Mainlining (Bernie from Fast Buds does this regularly. Basementganja does this also sometimes. The great Mr.Canuck himself says this is possible',but hes more a fan of Lst,he assures that this cause more yield)
-clever defoliation of the top branch ( basementganja method)
-clever use of light intensity and distance to the lamp
The past days i got some problems to held the rH on 60%,most time it was below.i used a wet towel to raise the rH,it helped but not as much as needed. I poured 667ml Water with 1/3 tbsp EMs on the mulch to boost its decomposting process a litte,it also raised short term the rH. I also sowed new cover crop seeds (little helper seeds by almicanna). They benefit the microbiom of the soil through their exudates and protect the athropods, bacteria etc from light and drought. They also raise the rF,as soon as they are developed. But the gamechanger in this drama was, like in my last grow, the fan😅😂 I turned the fan on earlier than planned, but this led to a rapid increase in humidity from 53% to 68%🎉
I also raised light intensity up to 75% on Day 11.
she takes everything like a champ😬
See u next week growmies 👍🏼

Now let’s move on to Greta. What can I even say? She’s a damn homunculus😭😂😂 The curious thing is that this is the exact same pot that previously held my Skunk Haze - which also started out as a homunculus and then, luckily, went on to produce some seriously fat buds. Unfortunately, it later suffered from botrytis, but that’s another story😅
Naturally, this makes me curious and also a bit worried again that there might be HLVd lurking in this pot. What speaks against that theory is Greta’s strong green leaf color and the fact that the leaves aren’t oddly deformed. She’s really just a miniature version of a cannabis plant .small, but very far along in development.
She’s clearly already in flower, has the nicest branching of the bunch, and is very easy to train. I’m really curious to see how this will continue to develop. If I’m lucky, it’s just down to genetics. Of course, I’d be much happier if I had a clearer sign pointing toward a virus — in that case, I’d replace the pot entirely. But for now… well, let’s see how it goes🤷🏼♂️
I also brewed a nice AACT (5l,24°C) with the following ingredients:
-5tbsp wormcastings
-1cup of overripe Watermellon Juice ( rich in enzymes and monosaccharides, microbe booster)
-1tbsp Molasses
-1-tsp Rosehippowder (organic acids, trace elements and immune booster)
-1tbsp Beetroot Powder (potassium, trace elements,Polysaccharides and carbonhydrates, microbe booster)
1-pinch kelp meal (trace elements, phytohormones)
Before applying the AACT, I turned off the Blumat supply for two days so the soil could dry out a bit. I also applied the AACT in two stages — once after 24 hours and then again after 32 hours.
Unfortunately, the effect of the fans increasing the humidity only lasted for a short time. Over the past few days, I still had to rely on damp towels to keep the relative humidity at around 60%. That’s starting to change now though, as the girls are getting bigger and transpiring more — which is a very positive development.
I really have to say that a cover crop would have been a total game changer. It would have helped the girls early on as well, since cover crops can positively influence soil pH and also help raise humidity level.
See u FB Enthusiasts👍🏼

SleepyChow Let’s talk about Greta 😅
What can I even say, folks… she’s a freaking homunculus. A proper little dwarf. Tiny.
BUT, she’s insanely fast in her development. Like, really. She already has clearly visible buds and a pretty defined structure to her side branches.
I removed most of the LST ties because, compared to the other girls in the tent, she’s at risk of getting a bit light-starved if she stays this small. I only re-tied the main stem to encourage her to grow more outward instead of upward. Let’s see where that leads 🤷♂️
One thing I did notice: there’s not a whole lot of life going on in her soil, apart from fungal l. So I added a cup of worm castings with actual worms and arthropods, just to boost and enrich the soil life a bit.
I also chopped down the cover crop in her pot about four days ago -and wow, that stuff is absolutely exploding right now. Honestly, the cover crop seems way more eager to grow than Greta herself 😂
But hey… let’s see what happens. She might still surprise us 😏 at least a little....hopefully😅

SleepyChow Hello and welcome back, Autoflower enthusiasts👋🏼
There’s actually not too much to report about Greta this time. I rotated her pot a bit so she doesn’t get overly shaded by her neighboring plant.
She’s looking strong in the flowering phase, pushing out tons of pistils and already starting to stack a little. I haven’t noticed much stretch from her so far, though. In the next few days, I’ll probably have to lift her up a bit, otherwise she won’t be getting enough light soon.
No issues to report — she’s just doing her thing. Developing at her own pace, staying adorably dwarf-like as always.
Small but committed 😅

SleepyChow Hey folks, and welcome back to Greta.
I wish I had something exciting to report… but nope, not really much has changed. She’s kind of just doing her thing at her own pace. Shes the first to show trichomes👏🏼
I did raise her pot a little so she can catch a bit more light. Every photon counts, right? The net you see in the picture is actually mainly for the other plants — she’s not really growing enough to need it anyway.
What she is doing, though, is building thicker buds. So while there’s not much happening above ground, I’m hoping she’s working on her foundation below. Let’s see what she decides to do next.
Patience mode: activated. 😄

SleepyChow Day 50
hey guys 👋
Greta is developing pretty well considering the circumstances. Her buds are getting thicker and thicker every day. I do need to keep a close eye on her though — don’t want to risk any bud rot creeping in.
So far, she’s showing zero issues. No deficiencies, no drama — just a super chill side run doing her thing.
She received one liter of compost tea with the following recipe:
-5l dechlorinated water
-5tbsp vermiculit
-1tsp molasses
-1pinch bone meal
-2 tbsp Ffj (overripe Watermellon for encymes and monosaccharides, unripe mango for P,K and Jasmonic acid)
Let’s see how she continues to develop from here. She’s roughly 15 days away from her expected harvest window now.
By now her aroma is really starting to come through. She smells very much like a classic Gorilla Glue — a deep, sweet earthy funk,a little chocolate note— but with a subtle fruity note layered on top.
I’m really curious to see how the terp profile develops from here. That’s usually where things get interesting.
See u 😬

SleepyChow Hello again, friends of juicy buds.
Greta is in her final stages — you could almost say she’s on the home stretch. She’s still bulking up nicely, the buds keep getting thicker, and the trichome production is very high.
Her aroma is strong — very, very intense, classic Gorilla Glue. More and more pistils are turning brown, and according to the breeder, she just has one week till finished. Still, I think she probably has another week or two ahead of her after next week.

Hi growies, welcome back to Greta. According to the breeder’s info she should actually be finished by now. Most of her pistils have turned orange‑brown and she’s developed nice and has a decents resin development👍🏼However, judging by the trichomes I’d still give her at least another week. I watered her with about one and a half liters a few days ago, and she’s not a big drinker anyway, not very thirsty. That’s been enough for her so far.

Hi Growmies 👋🏼
Greta was supposed to be done last week… but yeah, she clearly didn’t get the memo 😂
Her pistils are brown af.
The end is definitely near. But when it comes to trichomes, we’re still stuck at fully cloudy – not a single amber in sight yet. I mean… come on, Greta, anytime now.
Bud size? Not changing. Overall appearance? Not changing. She’s basically hit pause and is just sitting there looking finished… but not technically finished 🙃
I’m not gonna wait forever though. At some point it’s just not worth the extra effort. She’s on borrowed time now ✂️👀
Day 77
So guys, today is harvest day for Greta. As you might’ve noticed from my previous updates, I was a bit disappointed with her overall performance. She ended up staying really small — basically a dwarf — and recently I’ve been looking into other grows from FastBuds and noticed this happening sometimes.
At first, I was worried it could be something like the Hop Latent Viroid or maybe an issue with my soil, which of course is still a possibility. But it’s starting to look more and more like she was just a bad bean with some unfortunate genetics.
That being said, she didn’t cause any trouble throughout the entire grow. She just did her thing on the side, looked healthy, showed no deficiencies and no major excesses either. Everything was pretty much in balance.
The buds actually look really nice — like, really nice. The smell is strong too. As mentioned before, it’s got that classic Gorilla Glue aroma, but toward the end a citrus note started to come through as well.
The yield, as you can see from the pictures, is very, very small. Honestly, not even enough for a proper bouquet
A week ago I probably would’ve given her an even lower rating, Let’s see how it turns out in the end.
That would’ve easily been enough to grow her in a one-liter pot, that’s how small she stayed. But hey, for a freebie, it’s not thaaat bad🥲

SleepyChow Update 21.05.26
After two months of curing i decided yesterday to vape a nug
Taste: This Girl is 100% a autoflower version of GG4,its like Zkittlez not even tried to contribute to the taste, smell, appearance and effect. The steam of this cultivar has a very thick taste, very earthy and piney,a little chocolate aftertaste. a nice quality steam/smoke.
The effect: indica like. A dizzy stoned feeling, pretty relaxing, sleep promoting. Nice munchies. Eating some chocolate cookies, sweets and a succulent chinese meal makes pretty much fun with this girl
She definitely doesn't seem that stable of a strain. Mine was almost the complete opposite; big plant with low yields (also my first so who knows). It's not bad, but I can see why they are practically giving these seeds away haha
@Kali_flauer, its my 4th fb grow and two of them werent that pleasant. one bluberry was a sativa beast and this gorilla is a little kitty cat🤷🏼♂️ it can happen but its not nice for the grower .i hope the smoke ll be nice.
@PavementPunk I’ve heard a few times that using certain breeders is kind of like playing the lottery, and that’s exactly the impression I’m getting here as well. I don’t want to talk bad about the breeder in general, but so far I’ve only had either really good or really bad experiences. nothing in between. i was very lucky with zamnesia in the past but i heard similar stories.
@Versize, yea i edited the text.i meant that she needs at least one week more than what fb indicates.maybe two. I'll be glad when she's finally out of the tent.iv got a small dry tent and if the Gorilla z isnt at least a week earlier ready than the red velvet i maybe get a Problem
