Bunterbiber The Journey Begins!
The wait is finally over! I’m diving into a brand-new project that I’m really hyped to share with you all. This run is a special collaboration between Canna Community Germany and Original Sensible Seeds.
I feel honored to have been asked to join this project as a tester. A huge thank you to the crew at Canna Community Germany for initiating this and bringing me on board. I also want to give a massive shoutout to Original Sensible Seeds for providing the genetics—I’m especially grateful that they let me hand-pick these specific strains from their impressive assortment!
For this run, I’ve chosen Black Orchid Auto and Purple Haze Auto. In this diary, I’ll be focusing on the Black Orchid Auto. If you want to follow the progress of the Purple Haze Auto, you can find the sister-diary right here on my profile!
The Germination Phase:
To get things moving, I started with a 24-hour soak in water, followed by the wet cotton pad method until those taproots were looking strong. Once they popped, they went straight into 0.5L pots inside my small breeder box.
The Setup & Natural Security:
They are currently getting settled under a 20W lamp with high humidity to give them the best possible start. To keep the environment safe, I’ve got a carnivorous plant stationed inside the breeder—it’s my natural "security guard" to ensure no fungus gnats mess with my seedlings!
I’m really looking forward to seeing how these genetics develop. Stay tuned for the weekly updates!
May the green thumb be with you 💚

Bunterbiber Off to a Flying Start!
Week 1 is officially in the books, and things are moving fast! Both strains in this project sprouted incredibly quickly, and we’re already seeing the first sets of true leaves appearing right after the cotyledons.
The Black Orchid Auto is showing some great vigor already. She grew tall quite fast, but not in a "stretchy" or spindly way—she looks really strong, stable, and ready to take on the world. I’m super impressed with how she’s carrying herself so far!
Regarding care, I’ve only watered them once when they first went into the 0.5L pots. Since I’m using transparent pots, I can see that there’s still a bit of moisture inside, so I’m holding off on watering for a little longer to let the roots breathe and search for moisture. The environment is staying nice and humid, averaging around 75% RH, which is perfect for this stage.
If all goes well, I’ll be moving her into her final pot in about a week. Don’t forget to check out my profile to see how the Purple Haze Auto is handling its first week!

Bunterbiber Moving into the Forever Home!
It’s been an interesting Week 2! The highlight of the week was definitely the transplanting, which took place right in the middle of the week. The Black Orchid Auto is now sitting comfortably in her final 20L pot.
For the medium, I’m using Floragard Professionell Growmix Organic. I’ve mixed in two EPN 1 PLANT-PACKs as a long-term organic fertilizer. A little pro-tip: I actually pre-watered the soil/fertilizer mix about five days before transplanting. This helps activate the soil life and those crucial mycorrhiza fungi, so the roots have a "living" environment the moment they arrive.
Since the weather outside is currently gray and sunless, she’s spending all her time in the tent under the 80W LED (at about 60%). I’ve also got two small fans running; the light breeze is already doing wonders for her stem, which feels much more stable and strong now. My plan is to let the organic mix do the work—I won't be adding any extra nutrients until we get close to the flowering stage.
She is developing perfectly and looks absolutely top-notch!

Bunterbiber Sunshine, LST, and Incredible Colors!
Welcome to Week 3! The biggest game-changer this week was definitely the weather. After a lot of gray days, the sun finally decided to show up for the last two days, and the plants absolutely loved it—you could literally watch them put on size in real-time!
With the sudden growth spurt, I officially started LST (Low Stress Training) this week, which you can see quite clearly in the photos. I’m still sticking to my plan of watering with plain tap water and won't touch any additional nutrients until we transition into the flowering phase. Also, as a preventative measure against any unwanted guests, I gave her a proactive spray with a neem oil solution yesterday.
Appearance:
The pictures honestly don't do her justice, but in real life, her dark color is absolutely stunning! When you stand her next to other cannabis plants, the deep shade is just incredibly cool. This girl is already my absolute favorite from a visual standpoint!
Make sure to head over to my profile to see how the Purple Haze Auto is recovering her color under the sun!

Bunterbiber Mother Nature really came through for us this week with almost non-stop sunshine. The plants enjoyed every single ray of it and used that natural energy to full effect.
I’ve been continuing with the LST (Low Stress Training) to keep the canopy nice and even, which you can check out in the latest photos. To help her out during these sunny days, I added a layer of pine bark to the top of the soil. This acts as a great mulch layer to prevent the topsoil from drying out too quickly and keeps the root zone cozy. Currently, my watering routine is very relaxed—just plain tap water and a bit CalMag twice a week is all she needs right now.
Appearance:
She is absolutely thriving! She looks incredibly healthy, vibrant, and continues to put on steady, solid growth. I couldn't be happier with how this beautiful lady is turning out.
Be sure to check out my profile to see how the Purple Haze Auto handled a major upgrade this week!

Bunterbiber Welcome to Week 5! The weather took a bit of a turn this week. The sun decided to hide behind the clouds a lot more, we had our fair share of rain, and the nights got noticeably chillier, dropping down to a minimum of around 10°C. Despite the less-than-ideal outdoor conditions, the ladies pushed through and continued to develop remarkably well.
I’ve kept up with the LST (Low Stress Training), specifically focusing on keeping all the main tops at an even height so we get a nice, uniform canopy. Watering has stayed consistent and easy—just giving her a drink of tap water + CalMag about twice a week.
Appearance & Flowering:
She has really stretched out horizontally and become quite wide! She is more bushy right now, and those signature dark leaves are just a treat to look at. But the most exciting news of the week: she is officially starting to transition into the flowering stage! The first pre-flowers are showing, and she seems totally unfazed by the colder nights.
Don't forget to check out how the Purple Haze Auto is handling the chill and her own transition to bloom over on my profile!
