Pictures are from today December 1st. Starting to get a little yellow, does this mean I have to start adding nutrients? Any tips or comments are appreciated, thanks for the read!

Grow Questions

On my white widow plant, some of the lower leaves are having some issues. The last three pics are some lower leaves on that same plant. I watered it today with 6.2 ph water and I tested the runoff which was at 6 ph. What is wrong here?

You answered it for yourself it looks like effects from a typical PH swing. As long as new growth looks healthy your going to be just fine.

I can’t see if your using nutrients. If you are about to start I would be mindful of how much you use. Looks like you have more than enough N available at the moment so you don’t want to increase that by much during the stretch but I would advise to give them a little otherwise you will have place green leaves going into flower...

Keep your watering practices the same as you are clearly doing a good job at watering. The idea in soil is to let it dry out as much as possible without being bone dry. But I like to be close to bone dry before i water in soil.

PK boost goes after stretch. If you want fat buds you want to get some sort of quick release PK boost. If you like to be organic Green Buzz Liquids have a great range of organic nutrients.

Thought I’d give you a nice little read. If you ever need 2nd opinion feel free to message me or comment on my current grows:v::skin-tone-2:

Is it time to start adding nutrients to these plants? If so, what kind should I use

you can probably start now in anticipation of the flip. Remeber though there are three groups of nutrients you need to add NPK, micro nutrients (even in soil, yes!) , and a chelation agent. I recommend one feeding of veg nutes only then start with the flower nutrients even before the flip, then for the micro start adding cal mag at full dose in the feed , and as a spray twice a week until second week of flower, for the chelation agent, might as well use a combination of beneficial bacteria and humic and fluvic acid. remember for NPK nutrients it should be feed, water, water, feed, water, water... and if you're not using bio nutrients what are we even doing this for amirite? buy local ! hope this helps ! :rocket:

How are you checking your humidity?

https://cals.arizona.edu/vpdcalc/

It is a bit dry at 50% humidity in the day. And if humidity remains at 50% in the night, it is a bit wet.

When it is too dry, leaf mouths (stomata) close. And they won't take nutirent.

No matter how much you feed, plants can't eat. When it is too wet, plants eat more slowly.

Ideal vpd during vegiing is around 1 to 1.5.

By the way, I grow outdoor. I can't control humidity. So I adjust my feed. Less fertilizer when it is dry. More when it is wet.

Cheers.

@Timmy2taps, sure you can improve by spending more money. I don't think this road would ever end.

However, I think there are things you can do to improve without too much investment. After you get the hang of it, then you can start design your grow space and spend on set up and supplies. There are things you and pay for like light, CO2, environmental control. After all you spent tp get the perfect tent, you will want another tent or a room.

I recommend that you look at Philindicus set up. He documents his settings really well. My favorite grow hero actually.

Mean while, I recommend that you look into organic nutrients. They are safe for the plants. Will be an improvement but won't get you to contest level.

Earth worm casting - does wonder for plant during veg. Can't really damage plant either.

Molasses - great for feeding benificial microbes. Cheap.
Humic/fulvic acid - make plants use less nutrients.
Compost tea.
Bone meal and potassium bat guano - for P and K. However, start with a third of recommended dose. These can burn your plants.

I also feed my plant milk (yoghurt to be more accurate). This gives nitrogen and calcium but lacking in potassium. Why don't you look up "LAB - lactic acid bacteria and terpenes". Short story - yoghurt makes you weed really strong.

Smarter people alreay mix these in formula.

I am cheap. LOL

@Med_in_Tropic, I have a little Temp/rh meter that sits in my tent. How would I boost humidity during day light cycle and reduce humidity at night cycle? Am I gonna have to get a humidifier and a dehumidifier and set them both on separate outlet timers

I saw you were asking about fertilizer a few days ago so I thought I would comment.
I use Mega Crop it is a all-in-one powder fertilizer and it is inexpensive and concentrated so you get more bang for your buck and I have had very good results using it on my plants, you can get a free 500 gram sample at greenleafnutrients.com and check out the entire greenleaf nutrients supplement lineup on Ebay.

@XeenRecoil, I think I'm going to check out my local hydroponics store tomorrow. I'm going to look through all the stuff and weigh my options
