I made a few mistakes along the way. Even though the outcome wasnt alot the one bud i did try was a heavy hitter! Cant taste it yet still tastes like grass, but i also smoked the scizzor hash and that tasted like gas! Im not annoyed at the harvest as it was a leaning curve, and the next one will be better. Going to use 250w Hps for my next flowering because i think the LED's wernt powerful enough... Being quite a connoisseur of smoking i have smoked alot of exotic and dank strains... I now appreciate the hard work that goes into those amazing buds!

@Gl420grower i am using the chart dude, just didnt know wether to reduce the grow or not, but thanks for the advice man ill just keep giving it to her then. i started off with 1ml of bloom and she took it well, then went to 2ml a couple days ago and she seems ok so far, but ill keep a close eye on her haha. And thanks man i think shes doing quite well so far! :)

cheers for the tips bro!

@RachlsFarm, fair enough mate but yeah keep it going and reduce it for the last week before you flush as she will use what ever she has stored at this point!

Sorry I was mistaken in regards to the topmax that can be added from the beginning so for that I do apologise

@Bulbi i harvested her a couple of days ago, ill update diary later... she only went this long because i made a few mistakes, i over fed, fed flower nutes to early and started flushing too early. most peoples go for 9-11 weeks. she looked lovely when growing. unfortunately because of the hot weather she hadnt dried that well lol. sure yours will be good man!

In regards to your message mate, fist of all I went through your diary and noticed you started on the bloom and topmax right at the beginning of flower, doing this can effect the flowering stretch as during this stage she still requires a fair bit of nitrogen so that in itself can stunt growth, also if your mixing a feed and adding it on every watering then it is highly likely that it's that your soil ec or ph will be off from over fertalising the soil an there for be causing a nutrient lockout..and if you look on the tips of your fan leaves they look a little burned, so the easiest way to rule that out will be to test your runoff.. if that is off then that is likely to explain the slower growth and the yellowing..
RachlsFarm
RachlsFarm
yeh they are amber on the buds but not many of them, and theres still lots of clear ones... think i started with the bloom to early and thats the problem, because she seems healthy, just slow growing lol, and all the yellow leaves are starting from the bottom up. think its safer to just flush from now. thanks for the help though bro was starting to panick haha
Gl420grower
Gl420grower
If your trichomes are turning amber on the actual bud and not just the sugar leaves then yeah I would flush.. yellowing can also occur from when the plant thinks it's coming to the end of it's life cycle as it then starts pulling any remaining nutrients stored in itself out of the leaves.. so it is possible she thinks her time is almost up but without being sure she has no issues it's hard to say

@Gl420grower thanks for getting back to me bro, i tested the soil ph yesterday, it was at 6.5, but i will test the run off i havent got strips only the liquid testing kit so i will get some strips and test it. and yeh i looked through grows and realised i added top max and bloom to early :( but i think im just going to flush her from now on what do you think?

Just a heads up on my one around this stage I had to defoliate a little and again a couple of weeks later, I didn't train her either and she still got quite bushy but because of that some of the fans were sitting on top of each other and creating like sweat patches on the leaves.. so if you don't defoliate I would keep an eye on that.. also as I mentioned at an earlier date, the only reason bio grow is to be continued through out is due to the low n-p-k levels in their products, in most cases where it has been cut out or reduced at the start of the flowering cycle other products are being used to balance out the n-p-k. As stated above though she is looking pretty healthy right now and growing well.. which goes to show what your giving her is working.. an if it works why change It? If your worried maybe try and keep the grow dose the same and just Increase everything else as you would anyway, quexos is right though you should check other diaries on here of people that use these products, and it's worth looking into what I said about the n-p-k too because it can be quite important. Not a lot of growers do things the same way though so more times then non it's down to preference and what you find works best for you. You have done great upto now though so keep it up 👌 the resin production on mine was crazy it's so sticky! When you make a j from this it's a bit of a tickler on the throat but you'll notice on your joint that underneath the cherry well it's burning it produces oil! Just thought I'd leave you with that to look forward to 😉

@RachlsFarm, when defoliating i would just take a handfull every time I watered for a week and then again a few weeks later as the buds were filling out

@@Gl420grower, I have read up on NPK and that but i was just wondering is all. I know you said to use it all the way through just thought i would decrease it, but i will just keep it as it is, I am doing light defoliation here and there but im scared to cut too much off in one hit lol. Ahh im looking forward to it! Ive had the original GG4, just hope this matches up to it!

Just before I harvested I did a final flush then left them in the dark tent for 3 days. Then I trimmed off the major fan leaves to make harvesting easier. I cut the main branches from the stalk and did a light trimming. I hung the branches in the dark tent with a humidifier and fans, but no lights. I left it that way for about 3 days then checeked to make sure they were ready for trimming and jarring. Trimming off the leaves prior to drying is your choice. In arid climates, the large leaves will help retain moisture, but in more humid climates, they could increase the risk of mold. I did not trim the pistils ever. I did trim the sugar leaves off while I was doing my manicure. I saved those in a bag in order to make canna butter.

Do Not trim away the new white pistils. Leave those white pistils on the plant as they will turn red as you dry and cure your bud. Looking very nice for your 1st time growing!!!

Looking good! She looks nice and sticky.. bet your just itching to pull her down aha, I'll be honest with mine she was strong, but I reckon had she of gone the length yours has she would have been better so I think your going to be in for quite a treat to be fair! Good look on the harvest

@GL420grower im so itching to crop! but theres still a few calyx's that could swell, and most trichs are cloudy only some just turning amber, so dont wanna pull her just yet as shes not a big plant want to get the most out of her as possible, hoping i will harvest by weekend... if theres still white pistils is it ok to harvest? not sure if gorilla glue is one of the ones that keeps growing white pistils or not

Nice looking bud shots this week! She looks really healthy. Those bottom leaves are just fade in my opinion. She still looks several weeks from harvest based on the bud size/density and the pistils. Without seeing the trichomes on the buds themselves, it's difficult to tell though. Based on your description, she sounds like she is finishing up nicely. Trichomes can take awhile to turn so I would just keep on with your routine. You could add a bit of a finisher like molasses, terpinater, or flawless finish to your flushing routine. It could improve the flavor and density of your finished buds. They also help dissolve salts in the soil that could lead to off flavors. You might try a compromise to harvesting. Cut off a smaller bud and try it out! It won't taste like a cured bud, but you will get an idea of your finished product. That might help you decide.

@Quexos thanks for the advice man, i am adding a tsp of molasses to her with the water. im just glad u told me trichs change slowly i thought it might if been a quick thing! Im not sorry worried now, thanks bro

Great job! That grass smell and taste is the chlorophyll in your plant still, it's going to be a couple of weeks until that disappears.

Gratz on your first harvest! Once your herb is properly cured, it will taste fantastic. Good luck on entering the Newb of the Month competition!

Great looking bud shots! You don't have to harvest the whole plant at once. I do because I don't have a dedicated drying system in place. If I had a drying box then I would harvest the major buds when they were ready and wait for the other ones to finish up.

I think the yellowing leaves look quite nice on the plant :) i've seen that happen to folks as they flush...
