MH/HPS Combo?

DJKY71
DJKY71started grow question 4 years ago
Is it okay for me to run my 600w HPS over my pre flower/flowering autos while I run my 400wMH over my vegging two autos and two vegging regular bubblegums? All 7 plants get some light from both. Have no idea if this will hurt either my flowering or vegging plants? Thanks growmies

Like all compromises there will be good and bad, yes you will get more red light in veg and thus stretch some due to that but you have a lot of blue as well so that may keep it down. You will also get more blue in the flowering plants which may up potency and decrease bud size. Should be fine-ish, I can not run two HIDs due to heat but do run an HID and LED, its a good system

@jef79 I have been running 2 lights the whole time, a 400 and a 600 HID. Had MH bulbs in both. I had to do some tweaking hear and there but I have the temps and humidity under control. I’m in my barn next to the chicken coop just threw 3 walls and some Mylar up and run 2 fans one in from chicks and one out to chicks.

As long as your environment stays in check then it should only help by increasing the plant's usable spectrum. Hope this helps. Happy growing ✌️👊

Won't hurt them. Gives more of a full spectrum
