Magnesium Deficiency? Small rust/brown spots

Ezzjaybruh
Ezzjaybruhstarted grow question 3 years ago
Seeing these spots on several plants lately, diff strains, diff mediums(soil and coco). Magnesium deficiency? I used fox farms ocean forest mixed 4:1 with coco. Wondering if that small coco amount is contributing to a need for magnesium? Thanks for any thoughts or help

Yeah it probably offset the pH a bit causing some inconsistency/fluctations in parts of the medium. I'd add some calmag (or something like gypsum and dolomitic lime, or epsom salts and calcitic lime) and general stuff (maybe something like molasses), maybe a little bit of citric acid (fairly weak acid).

Looks like it is possible cal mag. Coco absorbs cal mag. That or I would first check like a run off ph and make sure ph tool is calibrated. If that is out of range then you are likely providing enough but roots can't absorb. Good luck and happy growing 🌱🌱🌱

Hi mate, other than a little toxicity you plants are just suffering from a PH issue. Do a slurry test of your substrate using PH neutral water. Check what way it goes. Use agricultural gypsum to lower the ph of the soil, dolomite lime to raise it. both give a calcium boost but lime has higher levels of magnesium. She is looking awesome in the diary. Good luck and happy growing
