Agree with Queen of the laugh. KEEP IT SIMPLE. Especially at the beginning. You'll be learning at an exponential rate, something you learn today you may find was totally wrong a few days later. Here's a quick crash course:
1. Start off with a light feed always, with any grow (200 ppm max with RO water, 400 ppm max with tap water). It's crucial not to push your plants whatsoever in the first two weeks, unless you know they have definitely established the root zone. You can tell when the roots are established when the plants growth starts to really pick up. Usually once the second node of the plant shows.
2. Just focus on keeping the plants healthy for the entirety of their life. Your setup is good, accomplishing this won't be hard. Stay on top of your environment daily. Is your temperature/ventilation/humidity all good?
3. After you've mastered your environment to give your plant the least amount of environmental variability (steady day and night temps and humidity) than you can start looking into the feed more.
4. Don't waste any time researching defoliation. It is NOT part of the process. It's something only the cannabis community does and it is not used in commercial horticulture as an established means of increasing yields. This is not to be confused with pruning, which at times need to be done for plant health, like reducing humidity and increasing air flow.
I highly recommend this youtube channel as a start for good info. The lessons are simple, short and to the point. Great to cover the basics before moving onto advanced techniques and knowledge.
