Mephisto Genetics

Waiting on dry Battled nutrient issues whole grow so think that significantly impacted the overall quality, smell, taste, and density. But I put that on myself and experimenting with as new organic soil recipe and less on the great genetics I was working with. Also had to harvest early to fill the empty jars which could also factor all the above issues.

Take this review with a grain of salt. Needed to harvest early to fill those empty jars. While was good enough to get by, I robbed her of a lot of favor and bulk cutting so early. Very airy buds. No taste. Yet still quite potent. But again, having used this shin before I know this was on my choice to harvest early and not on these stellar genetics. Take this review with an even bigger grain of salt as this was written only a day or 2 into cure. A month from now if it’s different I’ll try to remember to update.

Ended up with 109 grams (3.9 ounces) of pretty dense buds. Dried for roughly ten days. Starting cure now and will report on the taste and effects in a couple weeks. The smell is already strong and never really left!

She grew fantastically. Her bud was way more dense than I was expecting, really heavy whilst cutting for drying. Absolutely no issues with her and I’m looking forward to the final cure and smoke report.

Chopped the GWK on Day 97. 2 weeks longer than the breeder said. No complaints. I flushed her a little early so her leaves curled pretty good but overall she’s funky and frosty. Gonna take this dry and cure a little slower.

What a wonderful challenge. These super short bushy ladies gave me a challenge for my growing skills. Lots of defoliation. No major issues throughout the grow, buds turned out incredibly dense and beautiful, super happy with the result. No wet weight, but will update when dried. Might grow them again…

The main challenge both growing and harvesting these plants was the sheer density. Short thick branches full of foliage. The short purple plant was so thick that I could not clean up the inner growth through the life of the plant. The top buds are firm but everything below is airy. The other 2 were a little bit more manageable. A surprising amount of trim came off on harvest day. That is still drying and will eventualy be sifted along with the popcorn. Is that a banana I see? I goofed and left the dehumidifier set low for bloom so they dried a bit fast at 7 days. They are still fragrant though. The buds are already at 9%-10% on the humidity meter so they went into Grove Bags without sweating first. Little purple yielded 31gm. The big pink and the green yielded 50gm and 45gm respectively. Yup. That was a banana. Cleaning up I found 4 loose seeds. 3 of them might be ripe. There may be more. A small yield. 4½ ounces with over ½ ounce of popcorn. I smoked a bit of that uncured popcorn. I can't speak for quality until at least 4 weeks cure but it is potent enough. 🙂 Stay tuned for a proper smoke/vape report in about a month's time.

Harvested a week early but this 3OG/5g yielded 95g the most out of the 3 plants

She grew amazingly without causing me any issues. Very closely matched the description provided by Mephisto too. Now to wait and see how yield and final smoke will be.

Harvested on day 80. Overall DG was a great first grow. She showed early yellowing of leaf tips which didn’t get out of hand so I think it was just genetics. She hit her real stride around week 6-7 and it was all good from there. She did go about a 2 weeks longer than the 65-70 day breeder cycle time.

Both plants are cut and bagged! I oved the smell during trimming it was a pleasant citrusy smell with no gas. I tested some of the smoke and it's definitly a head high more then anything else

Very easy to grow this strain as it showed vigour in all its stages. Can be a bit difficult to train due to how bushy it is but I haven't encountered problems with that. The buds have taken a beautiful purple colour in late flower and are producing a beautiful sweet and kind of cheesy smell. Chopped on day 82.

The smell of the Sour Stomper is by far my favorite out of any weed strain ive ever came across, its like grape soda candy with some fuel. I will most likely be pressing these 3 plants into Flower Rosin or Washing straight from dry rack, no cure. She didnt get fat buds on her but considering how neglected she was in the end i am happy with her. She was the tallest of the plants and turned purple almost immediately when she hit late flower.

Sensitive to N in veg but after can take nutes just fine! One of these best smelling strains I’ve ever smelt!! Literally like a bag of dried mangoes with a little paint stripper lol Now it’s been curing let’s get on with the review ;) Mango smile. Effect: initially racy and uplifting with a haze band that forms behind the eyes and around the head. Body stone is there but compliments the uplifting nature. My feet feel fantastic! Activities would be great as well as relaxing. Very positive mindset but can drift off into one’s own world. Aroma: Straight up mango juice with tropical notes. Makes me salivate. Probably the best smelling weed in fruit aspect I’ve ever smelt. Flavour: Strong mango, almost artificially flavoured. Strong metal/haze like taste, if you’ve smoked super silver haze you’ll know what I mean! Also notes of lemon/tropical Fruits with an incense background. Potency: 9/10. The duration is quite impressive! Lasts a good 3hrs which I find quite rare in other strains. After it wears off you don’t feel heavy, the haze lifts!

This gal was a pleasure to growth and I'm very pleased with the final product. I managed to pull 5oz of dry weight and 13g of kief. The curing process is bringing out her terps and she smells super strong diesel with mango to it.

Harvested today! Hung the whole plant in my dry tent. But cramped in there because it is only a 2x2. Hopefully I chopped at the right time. I'm sure with more experience, I will get that part down pat a little more. Dry tent is sitting at 60 degrees and 60% humidity.

CDLC A (92d)(395gW/200gD) : Took me by surprise! This strain was really a concern once flower started. I felt like the pistols were little and the buds weren't packing on at all... UNTIL they did! During the last 2 weeks of this strain the buds grew huge. I wasn't expecting this plan to be desirable at all. I think it was difficult for it to succeed when grown next to the Sour Stomper x Double Grape. All that to say, the buds look really nice and dense. They aren't as frosty as the SSxDG but that's alright, I think these buds are going to end up perfect! CDLC B (98d)(340gW/79gD): Really disappointing looking lady. Just looking like a mid. But the smoke was worth the grind in CDLC A so I have a lot of hope. Once I trimmed the flowers, the buds were dense and hard like rocks. AND LARGE! Overall, I don't recommend CDLC given my experience and how the buds turned out. The smoke is pretty good though, but still there are too many great strains out there. I see a lot of new Groupies selecting this one, There are a lot of diaries out there for it. My perception is that most of those diaries are not showing CDLC at its greatest potential. Which says a lot about the genetics, either its difficult to grow well OR its just not a great strain. Do yourself a favor and get a beautiful strain for yourself. The terps are unique. Both ladies smelled like a school bus doing donuts in a grocery store parking lot. I also got the scent of powdery helium.

Didnt do that great but I did make mistakes along the way and to had to recover from a big snap loads of small buds with a few mediums didnt weigh sorry if you care finished ages ago I just got so high for like 4 weeks and didnt update thought its time to wrap this one up

Harvested on the 14th and dried for 2 weeks and cured for a few days. Sensitive to N in the early phases but once into motion it isn’t very picky at all. Yield was down on last run but the soil was to blame. Didn’t realise it was cut with coco coir so need extra watering. Now let’s get on with the review; Flavour: Creamy iced berries and vanilla with subtle cake/sweet notes. Really does taste like a fruity cake with a little gas! Effect: Starts off very euphoric and relaxing and continues to be for a good few hours. A high that really slows the mind and brings a great sense of well-being. Very warm cosy body high. Perfect for anti anxiety! Smell: Creamy with a strong gas/herb notes. Very different once ground. Fake berry and diesel like smell. Potency: 9/10 The effect lasts a good 3hrs. Does make one feel a little heavy as it wears off but doesn’t crush you. May be my new favourite indica! One to keep in the rotation I think. Cheers!
