Another week with lots of rain. This week also provided cooler temperatures, especially at night with last night being at only 10 degrees C. The youngest plant not flowering yet. I decided it would be a good time to include some Cal-Mag in the water with the 3 part Advanced Nutrients. Only able to water twice this week due to lack of sunny days. As I had a PH level of 7 in the garden soil, I decided to give PH Down a try this year. My well water has a natural PH level at 7 and the PH Perfect does not lower the soil PH. I wanted to try getting the PH to the ideal of 6.5 for my plants. Very disappointed that I could not find any instructions on the bottle or on the Root Farm website. The bottle text just has "The amount of pH adjuster needed will vary depending on the volume of the nutrient solution, its strength, and the purity of water you are using." I had to guess and hope for the best. I tried 5 ml in 4 liters of water. It worked. I tested the soil after watering yesterday and one plant site was 6.5 and the other 6.6. I tied side branches down more, leaving just one branch growing upward in each of the 3 plants. Plant heights are 20, 17 and 14 inches respective of age.
