Wedding Cake - First Grow

Intro: Well they were harvested, woo! 14 Day dry at 67.5F/55% Rh. Stems snap/crack but dont completely break apart. I plan to burp and monitor the smell of the jars at least twice a day for the first week and then reduce as the weeks on on. I may need to separate some of the jars up even. I didn't get a fresh wet weight, and I didn't weight the whole plants since they were dried as a whole plant. I cut the trunks and flipped them upside, cleaned up any extra foliage and hung them back in the tent. I checked daily, making sure nothing was going wrong. Day 14 the big branches were snapping like they should so I set up the station and started trimming. Final harvest weight incoming, but I think I am alright with this yield, for all that happened with these plants.

To-Press/Popcorn: 2.45 To-Press/Shake: 0.63 Plant #3 Flower: 5.46 oz. To-Press/Popcorn: 1.75 oz. To-Press/Shake: 0.98 oz. Well, it was a long journey. First time grower learning plenty of lessons. Some of which include: I suck at watering, I should really spend time automating everything I can because I lose focus and ignored these plants a few days here and there. It is a lot of work, but being my first run I assume things will go smoother after going forward. I put a lot of detail into each week's grow, those that had details worth noting. So this is going to be a quick wrap up. I will update this if flavor profiles change over the cure. The smoke is strong, non-offending, and most importantly - I grew it myself in organic living soil so I know there is no pesticides or additives in them, which is a really nice bonus and the whole reason I decided to grow. I was really excited about plant #2, she had the most purple showing, but as of right now there is no standout for "best" plant this run. They're Fem seeds so it's not like they should be that different anyways. One thing to note is that I trimmed #1 first and I think I was a little too accepting of popcorn bugs. I intend to dump out #1's jars and reinspect/trim. I am also super paranoid about ammonia buildup in the jars. I am burping the jars, but I have a terrible sense of smell (bought smoked almonds once and they smelled like a 10 day old rotting pig carcass on a pile of warm raw beef and shit) and I have no idea what ammonia smells like TO ME. I don't want to ruin these on the last step. So after the pictures were taken, I separated out some of the more crammed jars and completely removed #1 and tossed into a paper bag. This is R&D now. I am just trying to show myself that either this smell is what this weed smells like, a pungent strong overripe tropical fruit, with something else in the background; OR yeah it shouldn't smell like that and it wasn't ready to be put into jars yet. There was a slight difference in smell between #1 and the other 2, so I just figured I would do it. When it smoke I swear a get a hint of fuel too, other tester said maybe about that though. Sorry, again I can't comment much on smell or taste, going forward I may just toss a disclaimer that I can't accurately assess those two aspects of the plant. I have one more of this seed, and 1 clone that successfully revegged. I will likely run the single seed again in the future when I have more experience, and come back to this journal to see if any of the skills I gained made a difference with this specific strain.
