The latest Evo version appears to be rather impractical. By significantly reducing the number of diodes, they've inadvertently increased heat production, leading to less effective light dispersion. What's the rationale behind reducing the diode count to around 200 for the 301 Evo if it results in hotter running temperatures? I'd recommend staying away from it. I consider myself fortunate to have snagged each unit for 100 euros during the Black Friday sale (now they're asking almost 200 euros, which is quite amusing for this piece of crap), although that still seems pricey. For autoflowers, I'd say they're acceptable, especially for 1 or 2 plants in small pots within a 2x2 space if your plant grow big you are screwed because you will have -10 dli at the base of the plant. In comparison, I purchased some qkwin 240w lights from AliExpress. They feature Samsung 301D diodes (marketed as 301B, but research reveals otherwise) and come with a Meanwell driver. I paid 140 euros for 2 lights, and they even replaced the Meanwell driver when it burned out. Now, try researching Spider Farmer's warranty policy – it's a whole different story. My point is even a cheap fake AliExpress knockout is better than this light, so this is just not worth it. If you are going for lights, check HLG or Migro, or some reputable chinese brand that you can find recomendations in reddit or foruns, they are expansive but at least they have some warranty and quality.
