Not sure whether the preflower phase is considered veg or flower, I chose veg for this week as you dont see any flowers yet. 19.05. No Water today Mainly leaf tucking plus a bit of LST to get more side branches to the top No problems, but I think I need some fertilizer soon. Probably bloom fertilizer since they already did show sex? Yeah, I guess they could want some phosphorus and dont need a ton of nitrogen in preflower, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 20.05. Still no water Temp 24°C Humidity: 50% Nothing really new, still no sex on plant 3 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 21.05. Gave Preflower nutrients and boosts. Around 2L to each plant. PH: 6.4 EC: 0.85 Temp 24°C, really wet today Humidity: 55-60% Removed inner lower sidebranches in plant 1 plus a few leaves. Removed some leaves from plant 2 Some LST, mainly on plant 3 Will check how the plants react to the nutrients. If they take it well, I will try to increase the lights again tomorrow or the day after. (I only want to change 1 thing at a time, to be sure how the plants react, so no watering/feeding and changing the lights together) Also did clean the box today Strech started for plant 1, it is growing like crazy (30cm already), also plant 2 will stretch soon too. Still no sex for plant 3 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 22.05. No water today Plants took nutrients pretty well. Slight discolor of leaftips at the newest leaves though. *UPDATE* pretty sure that it is wind burn. I did move the fan higher and will reduce the force and/or uptime Plants keep stretching, and smelling more Did increase the light to 60%. Lets watch for a couple of hours still no sex on plant 3 though Humidity above 60% in the morning. Did drop a bit during the day, but still high due to all the rain outside.

Grow Questions

Hi, first grow here. My automatics are at their 16th day above ground. I think I have to top one of my plants to keep her height in check. Where and when should I top her? should I rather only do LST or maybe even wait for now (but they are automatics, so I should be quick?)?

With Autoflowers you want to avoide as much stress to the plant as possible because you are on a set time of growth before its flower. Topping is considered stressful to the plant. However, some people do this and have good success. Personally I always LST my Autoflowers and they turn out amazing. If I were you, I would simply pull down the plant to level out the canopy and keep pulling down the branches as they grow. This will open it up and cause more branches to get better light and in return produce amazing colas all over. You can check out my Banana Purple Punch Diary to see how I LST my plants and then what they grew up to be. I hope this helps.

yo, lookin good. I have just noticed you are using plastic pots (very similar to mine) and the problem with them is that they hold water/humidity/wetness for weeks... I thought Im watering a little bit every 3-4 days but it turns out it's all wet soil under the first 1-2cm of dried soil. I got Fungus Gnats because of that.

@emanresU, but isnt that the point to keep the water? If it is evaporating, then it is just increasing humidity. Maybe good in veg, but in flower I'd rather have the water in the pots and not in the air. I dont have any problems with my plastic pots no pests and no soil temp or overwatering issues and watering once a week also saves quite a bit of time fabric pots lying around too, probably will try them in the next grow, but my first impression is that I prefer plastic btw. I have nematodes and neem oil lying around too, so I am prepared IF fungus gnats show up, but in fact I think plastic pots are indeed better against fungus gnats, because you can have a dry surface for much longer as the bottom half stays moist longer = less frequent watering

Best of luck with the grow🌱🌱 The first one is usually the most stressful but also the most memorable ✌️😎💨

Looks nice, I hope #3 will also be a succes, maybe she's just a lil bit shy and needs more time. Good Luck!

@Elyxion, Thanks, but plant 3 is not only late. She shows a lot of mutations. Leafs are really deformed, the whole plant is not symmetrical and kinda looks sick. It already started at germination with her strange asymmetrical cotyledons. I might give her a few additional days, but probably will remove her out of fear that the weak plant attracts pests that could also affect the two healthy plants.

@James, thanks. growth is a bit slower than I did expect seeing other timelapse videos from more experienced growers, but still ok for first grow I hope. Plant 3 does worry me a bit
