Starting week 2 of veg. Third seed seems to be the charm and is growing fairly well after the first 2 that failed to emerge after germination.
- Plant still in Solo cup, roots visible at bottom and good development of root ball.
- Will transplant into final 5 gal. fabric pot in a couple of days
- Slight increase in PPM for feeding
- 3rd set of true leaves coming in
- Plant looking healthy, green leaves, reasonable amount of stretch but not a runt. Stem seems a little thin so far, but nothing alarming- could be a genetics characteristic.
- Runoff pH at 6.0 and PPM at 1015, a bit high, but plant not showing any burns or deficiencies
- Light at 450 PPFD, 18" away from top of plant
- Temps and humidity steady, with about a 7 degree F swing between night and day

- Repotted into final 5 gal pot
- Heavy watering with light feed to saturate the new coco and get runoff- pH for runoff at 5.8 and PPM very high since it's buffered coco
- Roots looked very healthy and white, not root bound at all but ready to move to a bigger pot
- 4th set of leaves coming in
OK, well...
5 days later and the seeds that seemed to have happily germinated and were transferred to moist coco...have done nothing. The two Green Gelato seeds germinated at the same time and planted the same way popped right up in a couple of days, but not the White Widow. Dug down a bit and the first one had rotted, the second one looked clean and white, but no growth.
So, I covered it again a bit more loosely and kept the coco moist and have started germinating a second seed in moist paper towels to see if that will work, but it looks like this is starting over here and at least one of the initial seeds was a bust (and I don't have great hopes for the second one).
We'll see!
