70/30 mix, plant took a longer than the gorilla cookies did to pop up. I’m pretty sure I put seed in to deep. First grow mistake, definitely going to make more

It’s the beginning of day 4, my gorilla cookies has popped up. But my JD has not? Is this something to be worried about? I’ve stayed in my VPD the whole time and been keeping my coco moist.

Very very very gently use a tooth pick or finger nail and rake back the soil when you believe the seed to be. You should see it having a tap root. Sometimes they grow upside down and you have to help them along. Sometimes they are runts...some just die. More then likely a slow starter. It can take 4-5 even 6 days.

the atmosphere doesn't really matter while it is underground. no it is not much of a concern. there is variety of times needed to sprout per seed. if oyu watered properly the first time there should be no need to mist for 5-7 days unless you have a fan blasting directly at substrate. it's better to use a smaller pot for seedlings or it forces you into bad watering habits to mitigate the large pot / small plant predicament. don't distubr the substrate.. just have patience. it either is alive or it is not, but if you dig around and interfere you could cause a death of a seed that was 100% avoidable had you just left it alone. After 10-12 days you can start to accept it may have rotted under the soil, but not this soon. how long it takes is directly related to depth you planted it. The other sideof that is if too shallow you'll have to take off a shell once sprouted. This is a delicate procedure that is best to avoid. This is a sign it needs to be a bit deeper.. doesn't take much. Also, a warmer substrate (~76-82F i believe, i stick to 76) will give you more consistent results too. I grow in the winter so i need a heat mat. 2.5-3days to sprout from sowing seed for the last 30 or so. Distinctly more consistent than before, so i feel pretty confident the one thign i changed (heat mat) was the cause. before it was 3-5 days with a few inevitable laggards taking 5 days.

Next time, can i suggest the paper towel method. Drop a bean in water for a day until it sinks. Then put it between some paper towels and put that in a ziploc or some sort of sealable type container. Stick it in a closet with no light or little, just be above 75° or so. In 2 - 3 days, if that seed didn't bust out and have a taproot, it's a dud. Takes all the guessing out of this. Now granted, some seeds do need help busting the shell sometimes. But that's for another day. Try that, you'll be much happier seeing that and knowing it's alive and it's all you at that point. Im looking at these pics, definitely something is amiss. They look like some overwatering and maybe not enough heat and humidity? Air circulation too. They look pretty rough for starters, they look like about the first 3 days after sprout. They are 2-3 weeks? That's not good I'm afraid. I'm not sure you're going to get much out of there with that much time lapsed. Good luck guy, i hope they get perky.
