This is BubbleGum by Sonoma Seeds. The genetics are Indiana Bubblegum. This regular clone was from a friend of a friend who had the seeds, and the lineage of cloning off of that. This particular clone lived in multiple tents and had a long pre-life. Came as a small, yellowed plant. Likely had spider mites before I received it. Dealt with fungus gnats and spider mites, not even realizing the latter, until eventual recovery. It wasn’t completely resistant, so mid range rating, it did need maintenance. Once it got healthy, it was on! Great mid stage to late stage vegetative growth. Good leaf formations once it hit its stride. I used soil amendment but in hindsight too much. Other plants slightly after Bubblegum, including a plant fatality, revealed the veg. time as not enough and the soil too hot. If you consider how much leaf was growing in and through the buds - this is nitrogen! Clearly, Bubblegum can tolerate high amounts of nutes. The liquid plant food did not help, but better managing soil amendment would improve this grow greatly. This plant also had some experimentation time under 10/14 lighting. I was trying to see what that effect was on flowering and yield. Flowering is certainly triggered faster, but yields likely down. So, I expect this could be a large yielding variety. The smell while growing was a very light sweet, perfect description is actually bubble gum. It had no sharpness or snap to the aromas. However, tastes upon vaping are more herb/musk/skunk like; not quite cheese-like, I feel that may be misleading, but its not as far from cheesey as you’d think. The deep undertone is sort of sweet. Perhaps with longer cure the palette changes. The effects are lovely. This is an indica for sure. While I don’t feel the immediate crushing body and eyelid weight that something like Hash Plant provides, I find Bubblegum makes me tired. Not couch locked, I’m articulating sleepy tired. This is a good pre bed variety, I find it is the polar opposite of insomnia. Trichomes seem to be in abundance. The buds are covered in crystal. I have clones going already in flower, and really like this strain. I expect it could easily climb in ratings if I correct the numerous mistakes. And this one didn’t turn out that badly anyway!

I gave around 24 hours of darkness before harvest. Wet trimmed. Nice process, lots of work, no issues. I bud washed before hanging to dry. That is, dipped and swirled the buds in a container of baking soda, lemon juice, and water. Then dipped, rinsed, and swirled in a container of just plain water. Then hang. I included some crude up close shots not for quality sake, but to show the product is still beautiful and intact after washing

@@@BeanswithPork, I think the gnats prolly just get too fucked up off of that 'shine to find their way out of the soil...😁

@@Aiiogrow,yep. Just to be clear: its an ethyl group alcohol, just typical moonshine you make in a traditional still. Fractionally distilled to 90+% ABV. It seems to have saturated and killed the mites with regular spraying, especially under the leaves. If it gets really wet it does need some air circulation/fan breeze. It doesn’t evaporate that fast that it can’t cause damage if soaked. It does kill gnats on contact, but it seems to be more effective at discouraging them more than anything. That, combined with other measures, also worked with gnats. Like if you water and have flies that emerge, you can have the alcohol spray ready to fire. It will kill some, injure some, discourage some, etc. It is a consumable though, I went through alot getting on top of all the problems. You have to be content making large quantities, which my source is.

@@BeanswithPork, Always nice work from you. Wish I had your green thumb, I fail at keeping my plants happy n healthy thru out the grow cycle every time I tried soil (perhaps it's the soil?).

@@BeanswithPork, 🙏 Will try that next time I dabble with soil.

@TheUsualSuspect, I noticed the soil matters, alot. A really light, good draining soil with small particle size is perfect. If it has mycorrhizae its a bonus (otherwise gotta add microlife). That has to be the bulk lest you risk poor drainage, too much nutrient, other problems. It also has to be available in bulk and affordable. Sunshine Soil #4 or HP ProMix soil is reliable. Mostly peat moss and perlite.
