Day 1 - just soaking seed overnight then directly into media tomorrow.
Day 2 - after 24 hr soak the seed has germinated. I would normally transfer to soil at this point either way. Impressed with the vigour already. The seed is now in a ~3L pot, 65% coco + 30% potting mix, 5% clay balls and perlite. I’m using Gaia green 4-4-4 all purpose and power bloom.. may top dress as needed.
Day 7 - last day of germination week. First true leaves are forming now. Seeding was a bit lanky, so I mounded you around the stem.
Day 43 - finally have my tent back and she’s vegging under 24 hr light. Out in the garden in a couple weeks. Growth is picking up with the move into the tent.
Day 63 - May 21st
This girl is finally outside in her raised bed for the summer. She’s responded really well to topping and has tonnes of new tops since I put her out last week. Tied her down just gently to one side to let the new top form a canopy.
Day 72 - she’s been outside for two weeks or so now. Loving the real sunlight. Still having some cool nights. I cover the ladies with fleece when it’s forecast below 10C at night.
Day 96 - June 24th
Height of summer right now. She’s looking very healthy, the main stem is about an inch and a half thick at the base. I have been defoliating, topping, and LST the plant for several weeks as needed. We’re probably 3 or 4 weeks yet before she thinking about flowering for the fall.
Day 107 - she’s starting to show some signs of flower with white pistols at the nodes. Have been aggressively topping, defoliating, and side shooting the last weeks.. will stop when she goes into full flower. She’s staying fairly short and bushing, not nearly as tall and lanky as the Jack Herer beside her. Definitely keeping a clone from this lady.
Very happy with these genetics so far, looking forward to flower.
Day 121 - July 19th - this lady has been in flower for a couple weeks now. Tonnes of white pistols on the plant not and the tops are changing their growth structure to start forming flower soon. So far still super happy with these genetics, nice bush plant with dense tops, looking forward to seeing the bud development over the coming weeks.
Still very lightly pruning side shoots to keep canopy structure, but will stop doing this very soon as she starts forming real buds. I’d say this is second week of flower for sure.
Day 130 - July 28th - I’ve basically stopped pruning this plant, she’s definitely in full flower now and starting to form buds. She’s got quite the lead on my others plants, I like to see that. Suggests an early harvest for this one.
Just a small amount of stretching in the last week. Still impressed with these genetics for size and speed so far!
Day 136 - She’s starting to form buds, it’s about to get real. Definitely has flipped much faster than any of my other plants, several weeks further into flower. Looking forward to an early harvest especially in Canada.
Day 160 - Aug 27th
Buds are getting super fat on this lady. Load of white pistols and white trichomes. A few brown hairs starting. She’s getting close now just a few more weeks.
~12 Oz of dry bud (@ 68% humidity)
Harvested a bit early issues with petty crime in my neighbourhood. Have seen twice dudes w entire plants roots and all riding away on bikes. This strain is lightening fast though, ready for harvest in early September in my climate... no need to worry about frost. My other plants are a month behind GG#4 Fast Fem. I’m sure people knock ‘fast’ strains but context is everything and this is a banger for sure.
Wet trimmed the buds on the stems and hung in grow tent. Then removed the buds from the stems and put them all inside an empty culligan water jug leaving the cap off and shaking every day (still inside the tent). This helped remove some seeds (12 or so), remove any debris, shape the buds. Helped to get through the ‘damp’ stage ~72% humidity or so down to the high 60s. Just an experiment... Im reading humidity the mid 60s now. Curing the buds in large ziplocs opening and shaking/airing out every day or two. I put the bags in an airtight container.
****
Update: buds are stable at 62% humidity. Strain is true to its name, tight sticky buds after cure. Only getting better every week.
