My first grow 'attempt'.
I am growing in an insulated shipping container. Using two Fluence SpydrX LED 660W lights. Not currently supplementing Co2. Feeding by hand for now but I will set up an automated dripper. Drain to waste. Growing in Pro-Mix HP w/ Mycorrhizae which contains (65%-75%) Peat-Moss, Perlite, Mycorrhizae, pH adjusters, and a wetting agent.
All 5 seeds sprouted!!
3 Peat Pellet, 2 Paper Towel
Light intensity set to lowest setting. (8%)
Feeding every couple days with 160ppm, 6.0 pH.
Overall, pretty good week.
Lights on! Using 18/6 light schedule.
The peat pellets were placed into peat pots and under a dome.
The lights should have been turned on a lot sooner, the seedlings stretched quite tall. Lesson learned there.
They continued to grow quite tall. One fell over, it was replanted slightly deeper to support it. Fingers crossed it survives.
Light intensity set to lowest setting (8%).
A lot to learn.
Transplanting the one that fell over seems to have worked very well, as it is doing the best out of all of them! I will transplant the others from the peat pots soon into something slightly larger.
I noticed some yellowing so I upped the ppms from 160 to 300. pH at 6.0.
Light intensity set to 25% first couple days.
They are starting look pretty good! Now I am feeding once a day until I get about 10-20% run off.
Feeding at 300ppm and 6.0pH. Run-off tested at 5.9pH and 280ppm.
Light intensity set to 50% for now.
Still learning.
Two grew a lot, the other three seem stunted. I transplanted the stunted three from their peat pots.
Light was set to 25% for 24hrs after the transplant. Light intensity set to 75% afterwards.
Feeding them with 600ppm. 5.8-6.2pH, adjusting slightly between feeds. Will up to 800ppm shortly.
A ton of growth this week! They really seemed to like the LED's.
Very nice coloring. I lowered humidity a bit but staying within optimal VPD.
Not sure why the one is much smaller, it has received the same medium, food, and light as the others.
Light intensity set to 100% and raised a bit as I have larger plants under the same light.
Still feeding with 800ppm and 5.8pH. With around 20% runoff reading slightly lower ppm and mostly unchanged pH.
Going to add Cal-Mag to my nutrient solution. I also have sprayed them with a Foliar spray to increase branching.
I have been watering every 3rd feed or so to reduce salt build up.
I will probably experiment with LST and possibly Topping.
More to learn!
Didn't take as many pictures this week(s).
They are doing well for the most part aside from growing different sizes.
They all have received the same regimen, genetics to blame?
I have other plants in the room that had PM. I lowered the humidity, then lowered heat as well to stay within proper VPD levels. This has helped quite a bit.
My other plants are getting quite tall so I might have to 'Flip' the lights, so both sets of plants will start to flower.
The Sour Jack seedlings are a bit small so we will see what I get for yield.
A lot of ups and downs, all learning experiences.
The majorly stunted seedling got the boot.
Very bushy.
I got PM on my Bubba clones. Hoping it doesn't spread to the Sour Jack.
Sprayed with a Copper Sulfate foliar Fungicide, next days it looked like it has helped some.
It's getting a lot hotter outside here. Bought an A/C unit. Lowered humidity quite a bit as well.
Had issues with my dehumidifier during this week and next.
Varied sizes and growth but all seem to be doing very well other than the PM.
Temperature and humidity outside has changed quite a bit recently, causing a battle inside to balance it all.
The PM spread to the seedlings unfortunately. Sprayed with Copper Sulfate fungicide.
Holding off on flipping the lights until PM is under control. I want to flip now because of my other plants have been ready for a while now. Need a second room lol.
The dilemma: My Bubba Kush clones are 50% of their growing height room, they probably will get too tall.
Still had issues with the dehum this week, but I think I fixed it.
PM seems to come back after a few days, gonna try different techniques to combat.
Tiny little fuzzy white pistils have popped up on the Sour Jack but not on the Bubba Kush yet.
So much has been learned and so much to learn still.
Awesome week! Starting to see buds forming!
Still fighting PM. Solved the dehumidifier issue and sprayed one last time with the fungicide.
I will switch to a different foliar for PM control, the one I used isn't recommended during flower.
I had to flip the lights as my Bubba's were getting too tall.
Lots of growth, very exciting to see all the little buds forming!
Temp and Humidity is under control now, hopefully that will help with the PM.
I also started to feed only at the beginning of their light schedule to help dry out any moisture on the leaves.
In the last weeks I noticed upping the PPMs wasn't necessary; I lowered humidity (and raised VPD) the plants were intaking more water and therefore nutrients.
