Skipped a week or two..I got really busy preparing the spot and neglected the diarie and the girl a little bit a the same time. They have all been moved to a greenhouse where they will spend the next 2 or 3 weeks depending on how fast summer comes around. I can already tell they like their new environment as they started bouncing back from my neglected care after only a day or two of being there!

The girls really took off this week, especially the frisian dew. They will stay in the green house for about another week before officially going in the ground. Good thing cause some of them are going to hit the ceiling otherwise! The greenhouse is quite a bit of work. It needs to be open every morning and close pretty much every night since the temperature is constantly dropping close to 0 celcius. But the girls love it so do I, and their transition into the real world should be easier since they will had time to accustomed to the light of the sun!

So they were put in the ground about a week ago. Rougly 400L of soil per plant that I bought in bulk from a garden store in my area. I then added about 1 cup of gaïa green all purpose and a handful of 20-20-20 that I thoroughly mixed in. I might do my own fertilizer from stingning nettles and fern later on, depending on how the plants are doing and if I feel they need a little boost. For the next 2-3 weeks, the plan is to cut all the grass around the plant and put tarps around to keep weeds away. After that it will probably be time for trellissing and a first defoliation. I plan on spraying with neem oil every two weeks until july 25th, which is the date the plants usually start to flower around here. After that I will let nature do its thing and hope for the best!

So this week the plants went under their first layers of trellis. I took that as an opportunity to give them a good LST. No worries, no branches were broken in the process! I started a batch of stinging nettles manure. If you never tried it, I suggest you give it a shot. It is super simple to do and it is very powerfull. There has been very little rain here lately, so I've been spending a lot of time watering the plants. Other than that, everything seems to be rolling smoothly!

So far so good. I gave each plant around 8L of water with stinging nettles manure twice this week and they seem to like it. It is suppose to rain a lot here in the next couple of days and I am happy for it because it is a lot of work to water evey other day, plus the little river where I take the water is almost dried out. Other than that I had to spend a whole day weeding because some unwanted plants were starting to show up from the ground. I also stretch the plant through the netting about once a week so they grow into a big bush. Thanks to eveyone who follows and comments!

So far so good in the field! The ladies went through their first defoliation this week. I probably should have done this at least two week ago but I had too many things to do to spend a whole day squatted by the plants. I plan on doing another round right before they start flowering. I also think i will stop weaving the plant through the netting from now on and let them grow upward from now on. The gaïa green that I put on top of the soil in the beginning seems to be doing its job.

A relatively good week in the garden. The girls are not growing as fast as they could because we have a real shortage of water here. The river has been bone dry for at least three weeks and I have to go quite far to fill the water tanks. It is very energy and time consuming. Therefore I end up giving enough water for them to survive but not enough for them to truly expand their roots and grow bigger. It is suppose to rain tomorrow and after tomorrow, but they've been announcing rain for three weeks without a single drop so we will see! If I had to choose a favorite thus far, it would be the freezeland. I like its growth structure and it clearly requires less water than the other strains to stay healthy. I don't know if it will be my favorite smoke tho, time will tell! They should start flowering in about 12-14 days. I plan on letting them grow until then and do one last big defoliation right before flower. I am currently making fremented fruit juice following the korean natural farming method to use for my flowering fertilizer. I used that last year and enjoyed the result, plus it is organic and way cheaper than if I was to use bottled nutrients. Thanks to everyone who's following!

We had some rain this week which ease the work load quite a bit. They should start to flower in about a week from now. I will probably take some time tomorrow to put the gaïa power bloom on the soil and spray them with neem oil for a third and last time. The frisian dew should be massive if it double in height once it flowers like dutch passion says it does!

Flowering is here! At least for the green crack fast. A couple other plants have started to show signs as well, mostly the frisian dew. I put about 3 cups of gaïa power bloom on the soil of each plant and I started a big batch of fermented fruit juice that should be ready in about 7-10 days. Other than that it's been a lot of watering and a lot of defoliation.

They are all in flower mode now, the green crack fast, NL x BB and the think fast being the most advanced, and the blueberry muffin and black d.o.g. being a little bit behind. I spread about 1 1/2 cup of gaïa power bloom (2-8-4) on top of everyone of them and will be giving them the fermented fruit juice about once a week until the end. I hope the weather is gonna be on our side for the rest of the season. Besire that, the only downside is that I am a little bit behind on defoliation. I was hoping to be done with the last defoliation on every plant by the beginning of flower, but I have a couple left to do.

Everyhting is going good. The green crack fast is truly a fast strain...I wouldn't be suprise if they were ready to harvest at the end of august, almost a month before anything else. The only question mark I have as of now is the black D.O.G. None of the 5 have started to show any sign of flower yet and it is getting pretty late in the season. The smell on the blueberry muffin is starting to show and it is going to be an interesting one I think!

So almost everything is running smoothly. The blueberry Muffin seems to like calcium and magnesium more than the others as I have spotted some deficiency on the leaves while I've been giving them the same amount of nutrients as the other. The green crack is extremely prone to mold. We haven't had any rain in two weeks and everytime get to the field, I have to chop a couple of branches (always the nicest one, as we all know 😑). To his defense, I have to say that it has been pretty humid tho. It will be ready in about two weeks, but I might early harvest to prevent any major losses, especially if there is any rainfall coming. Other than that,, the smell put a smile on my face in a 1 mile radius!

Alright some of the blueberry muffin were harvested (3 out of the 9 I had). I will update with more pictures and final weight in a week or two. So I had two different phenotypes. One wthat turned out purple, was ready about two weeks earlier and and seems to be a little bit more resistant to cold. The other one has yet to be harvested. They both smell the same thing ; an absolutely amazing smell of...blueberry muffin! I honestly think I could have pinpoint the blueberry muffin smell without even knowing the name of the strain. Overall it was a fun and beautifull plant to grow. The branches are very stiff and do not work too well with lst. They are able to support themselves without support but can snap easily if it gets windy. Would I grow it again? Yes, absolutely. For the smell alone it a strain worth growing, and altough I don't have final weight yet, the yield is good. If I was to grow it again, I would make an indoor pre-run and isolate the blue phenotype tho. The blue phenotype seems to be generally more resistant to the cold nights if september and is ready almost two weeks earlier, which are two very favorable characteristics to have when growing in my area.

We are getting there! Mold is popping up left and right and I'm doing my best to stay on top of it,, but the sheer amount of work is a little bit overwhelming! The Frisian dew are suprisingly the most affected by bud rot. Part of the reason is probably because the buds are so dense and hard. I was a little bit worried about the black D.O.G. as it started to flower a least 1.5 weeks ater than all the other strain, but it definitley catched up and is now one of the best looking plant I have to say. They all have more or less a week to go to get to perfection, but I will chop mostly depending on the weather because I think a good rainfall could be quite catastrophic for some plants.
