Starting the seeds. Paper towel germination method. I wrap them in paper towels and place them in a PlayStation game box. I’ll check in about 2 days to see how long the tap roots are. I will plant directly into my soil mixture in 5 gallon fabric pots this week once the tap roots are showing.

This week was just a bunch of waiting. I watered a total of half liter for all three plants combined. Around 10 spritzes from my spray bottle per plant per day. Sometimes twice a day. I think I planted one seed too early. It seems to have still finished germination in the soil, but it hasn’t broken through yet. The seed has split and you can see from the pic that it is coming. I’m not overly worried about it. My temps are maintaining 72.5F to 78F. Night time versus day time temps. Humidifier is running, controlled by my Inkbird to about 70%RH. That Inkbird does an awesome job. Humidity stays constant and only drops when I open the tent to work. My exhaust fan is on its lowest setting right now so I do not suck out too much heat/humidity. Other than that not too much to report for this week. It’s just a waiting game right now. I will check back in next week to update the diary.

The one I planted too early didn’t make it. It’s dead and now I just have two plants. Oh well. Life goes on. I’ve started including some water from the watering can to the soil in addition to lightly misting. I’ve maybe watered twice this week, but I am doing a good mist every day. Humidity is staying good and temps are good. Still on a 24/7 light schedule using my little bspec light. Not going to be making many changes over this coming week. I’m just letting her grow.

Ok, so this is one day early. I got high and thought it was Friday. But I already did the work for the diary so I’m adding it as next week anyway! So I wasn’t planning on making any changes this week. But then I got this brilliant idea to use pot holders under my saucers. Duh why didn’t I think of this before??? This would stop algae and mold from forming under the saucers. Other than that I have increased my watering volume. I’m doing around a gallon per plant every 3-4 days. My fan is stupid. It keeps getting squished and only pointing at one plant. Maybe I should buy another clip fan to hit that other plant. Not sure yet. I have an oscillating fan in the 4x4. But that tent is for flowering. It’s too big for the 3x3. I lowered my humidity by 5%. The plants have sprouted their first five finger leaves indicating they’re entering proper veg. Only three nodes right now. I’ll likely be topping this week. I know these are autos, but I want to try topping them anyway. I’m only in week three so I’m thinking the plants should have enough time to recover before it goes to flower. I think? I hope. —— Update August 29: I got enough nodes to top. Growth has been explosive. I went ahead and topped and started LST. Hopefully I’m doing it right. I watered the hell out of them to help them deal with the stress from topping. Plus I hadn’t watered in 3 days. They needed it anyway. I got about 20% run off.

So to start things off, my new pump for watering came! I had the wand and hose, but was waiting for extra cash to get the pump. So excited! This week has seen lots of vegetative growth. Plus I did top them a few days back. The plant on the right has recovered just fine. The one on the left I accidentally broke a branch doing LST and to make matters worse I FIMd it when I tried to top. It has had a much longer recovery period, but as of today it seems to be recovered because growth has resumed. I’m going to be defoliating these huge fan leaves soon. I don’t want to do that until day 30, so it will happen this week. I’m also going to be too dressing with worm castings and 4-4-4 in a few days. I decreased the humidity by 5% and I am now looking for 60% RH for the week. Update Day 30 — I found two broken stems 🤬🤬🤬. I didn’t realize I had broken them, but after defoliating I saw the wilting and knew it happened. Oh well. Can’t change the past. I top dressed using Dr. Earth organic 4-4-4. I had planned to mix the top dressing with worm castings, but I didn’t go to the store. Next time. I used 1 tablespoon per quadrant of each pot. So I used a total of 4 tablespoons of fertilizer per plant. I then watered them to run off.

I had to kick the exhaust fan up this week. The air was smelling musty due to the decrease in humidity. My humidifier wasn’t needing to work at all, but this was a quick, simple fix. I watered a little late. I should’ve watered yesterday. They were super thirsty tonight. My new watering setup was almost super nice, except the hose I bought wasn’t a hose per se. It apparently leaks out the entire length of the hose for “efficient” watering. So I have go back to the store and exchange it. I did do some light defoliation and pruning as well. I wanted to defoliate and prune a lot more, but I’m saving that for the first sign of preflowers. Other than that, nothing additional to report. See you all next week! Update Sept. 15 — It looks like these autos are going to be entering flower next week. They need time to recover so I had to make some changes early enough. I pruned, defoliated and finished lollipopping today. I didn’t add water because they just got watered a couple days ago. I’m torn there. I feel like maybe I should give them a little drink to help with the stress, but the soil is also still wet enough. I hope I’m making the right decision to wait until tomorrow to water. September 16 — watered about 1-1.25 gallons per plant.

It is time to move the plants to the 4x4 tent under the rspec light. They will be flowering within the week I think. I did my lollipop over the past week in anticipation, finishing it up last night. The 3x3 was starting to get pretty crowded. The plants were bumping up into the walls. The plants are under the HLG 600 now. I have it set to 40-50% intensity right now at 24” from the canopy. I reduced humidity to 55%. I can use my oscillating fan now, which is a bonus. I cleaned out the humidifier while I was at it. I found mold inside it 😖. I hope that doesn’t impact the plants. I threw the moldy filters away and replaced them. I’ll be watching my temps and humidity VERY carefully over the next week, especially this first night. I’ll adjust the lights and exhaust fans as necessary. Sept. 19 Update — I had to reduce the intensity of the light. Temps started hitting 80F. I brought the intensity to about 30%. This brought my temps in check. I’m maintaining 73-75 now. Humidity is struggling, which is why I didn’t mess with the fan to bring down temps. The humidifier can only keep around 48% RH. I decided to start storing the watering bucket inside the tent. Maybe that will help the RH.

This week I have to admit to a problem. Please help me out in the comments. Check the pics and recommend something to help a newbie out. I’ve seen it for a couple weeks. I removed all leaves with necrosis, but it came back. I don’t know for certain what it is. I think it might be a calcium deficiency. I was going to go out and get some gypsum, but I wanted to ask the experienced growers first. I don’t think it’s a fungus because it is only affecting one plant. I’d think a fungus would affect both. I also see on my other plant what I think might be some light bleaching. I also tested my run off. I’ve been watering at 5.8-6.4PH. My run off is testing at 7 for some reason. I’ve raised the light. I also went ahead and top dressed with worm castings and Dr. Earth 3-9-4. On scheduled feeding for flower. Maybe slightly ahead of schedule, but I need to get some flower nutrients in.

Hey dude! Just looked at your diary and it says you are watering currently 2L every 24 hours - that could well be the root if your problems - at that stage I would say 2L every 2-3 days. Going back through previous weeks I would say overwatering has been ongoing. It looks like pH issue on your new thin growth and multiple deficiencies on leaves - try reducing your daily waterings to only watering when the pot is dry and very light (a damp pot feels a LOT heavier than a dry one). As you have fabric pots and organic nutes, you really do not need to water to runoff if that is your thinking - watering to runoff with organics is not necessary as you flush your good stuff out of the soil. Watering to a few drops of runoff is your friend with dry organics. Try weighing your pot every 24 hours until you lift it up and feels like it has nothing but cotton wool inside - you are looking to water when pot is dry and light but before leafs start drooping. You can properly weigh them on bathroom scales or even a luggage scale hanger with your pot handles. I will put a watering guide on here that might help but it is based on 11L fabric pots, although with dry nutrients so adjust your watering volumes based on that :)

We are definitely in full flower. I changed my water ph down to 5-5.2 this week to offset the 7.0 I got last week. I also added some eggshells that I soaked in vinegar to try to introduce more calcium. My watering amount has changed based on Mr Stinky’s comment. I’m watering just until I get the slightest amount of run off to try to keep the nutrients in the soil. Very light defoliation. I’m trying not to do too much to stress them during the stretch. Just some large fan leaves off the bottom to keep them airy. I have continued some LST to keep the canopy as even as I can. Continuing to support the stalks using the tutor stakes.

Minor defoliation. I don’t think I will be doing another defoliation judging by the number of fan leaves I have left. I added 4 tablespoons of Dr. Earth Flower Girl mixed with a healthy serving of worm shit today. This is most likely my last nutrient add. I also lowered humidity by 5%. I forgot to lower it last week so I might drop it another 5% sometime this week. I want to get down to 35-40% RH as we progress into the last few weeks of flowering.

No defoliation. Terpenes are starting to come in. It’s frosting up a bit. Leaves are beginning to turn. No more defoliating or anything, but continuing LST. Update Oct. 21 — I accidentally learned something. If a branch is growing out sideways instead of straight up the bud sites appear to become larger and grow straight up. I have LST’d all branches to the side to allow for this to take place.

Smell is good. Plants are sticky. Terpenes are coming. I lost a lot of leaves this week. I think it’s natural. But I do not believe this is ready to harvest. The buds still need to fatten up. They’re so airy and light that I am getting concerned this is a wasted grow. This far into flower I can’t be far from harvest can I? If so this might be some disappointing shit.

10/29 I may have waited slightly too long on the harvest. I checked trichomes and I have about 30% amber. It should be a couch lock high from what I’ve read. I prefer a head high, but that’s ok. I gave the plants a big flush tonight and I am starting a 2 day dark period. I’ll chop in a couple days. Dry finished November 7th. I sampled some. I had to. This isn’t half bad. The taste is shit, but it is not harsh and the high is pretty good. I can’t wait to see what a cure brings. I’ll finalize this diary here shortly. November 7. Dry finished. 7 days to dry. Cure is started. This shit is fire. I’m so thrilled with it. Yield was low. 1.3oz dry.
