Greetings and salutations, this diary will be following the Purple Lemonade from Fast Buds. I have big plans for this plant, and I can't wait to share them with you.
My first goal is for this to be the most complete diary I have done, which actually won't be very hard.
My second goal is to make this into the best plant that I have grown. So far, I'm on track for that. As long as I maintain regular watering and leaf checks, I know the results will be worthwhile.
Few things I'm planning on doing, is some LST and defoliating. Leaf tucking will always be included

9/8/21: Day 1.🌱 Shell was still hanging onto the cotyledon, took a moment to peel it off.
9/10/21: Day 3. Growth is looking excellent so far. Still no additional water, and no nutrients.
9/12/21: Day 5. 💧💩First day of watering, after I added in some Gaia Green All Purpose nutrients. I also lowered the light, and removed everything else, to make room for additional plants.
9/14/21: Day 7. Leaves are coming in very nicely. Pot was looking moist, but feeling light, so it will be watered tomorrow, and be on track of my preferred watering schedule.

9/15/21: Day 8. 💧Watered with just about 2 liter's of water, definitely just a little too much. Dial it back next time.
9/17/21: Day 10. Pot is still a little moist, way to moist to justify watering today. Growth is looking good, second node well formed. LST will commence in either the end of the third week, or when it's large enough, whichever comes first.
9/19/21: Day 12. 💧Plant is looking excellent for being under 2 weeks old. Large difference in the last few days
9/21/21: Day 14. Growth is starting to pick up speed, everything is coming in nicely. One full week left before I'll probably start thinking about starting the LST.

9/22/21: Day 15. 💧Plant is now reaching the outside of the pot's edge, growth is really coming on strong. Gave the plant a full 1L of water.
9/24/21: Day 17. 🚂💧Growth is looking good enough to perform some LST, which I provided this afternoon. Using two garden staples as support bars, I pulled the middle of the stem slightly one direction, while pulling the top down in the other direction. Green plant wire was used to secure each portion of the plant to the staple. Watered with 1L right before I manipulated the plant. Plant is now completely on the watering schedule of Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's, giving two days of drying out on the weekend. If I keep the watering at the proper level, it will remain on schedule.
9/25/21: Day 18. Plant has taken well to the training. Lower nodes are noticeably longer, trying to race for the top spot. Top of plant has shown great increase in growth, already requiring the shortening of the plant wire tie. I will add in a few more staples if necessary, before switching to tieing directly to the side of the pot. In the middle of next week, likely day 24, I will give the plant it's second dose of nutrients, but switching over to the Power Bloom.
9/26/21: Day 19. Overall plant is looking great. Leaves are big and fat, a characteristic I like to see. As the top had grown longer, I had to readjust the staple, and tied it down further. Next step will be to tie it directly to the pot. The pot is still holding the moisture well, so tomorrow's watering will be adjusted accordingly. I will check the pot first, to determine how much water will be provided.
9/27/21: Day 20. 💧Lower node growth is amazing, just about the same height as the top. Watered lightly with just over 1/2 litre.
9/28/21: Day 21. Had to move the staple back out one more time, it was just a little too short to be attached to the pot yet, just barely out of reach. The lower nodes were getting tall, so I wanted to lower the top now, to have them grow out better. I tucked a few leaves back, to allow light to the other nodes.

9/29/21: Day 22. 💧The tucking worked well, already a noticeable change in under growth. Pot is feeling light, which is good, as today is another watering day. I will bring down 1L of water, and judge how much is used. In a few days, I will switch the plant over to the Power Bloom nutrients. The full litre of water was given.
10/1/21: Day 24. 💧Flowering has begun. Top of plant was tied down to the left, being secured to the side with green wire ties. I gave the plant roughly 3/4 of a litre of water. I will add bloom nutrients at the next watering. I'm hoping to wait until Monday, but I might jump early and do it Sunday, I can always readjust again to get back onto the watering cycle.
10/3/21: Day 26. Initial stretch during flower is starting to take place. Not much, but enough to be noticeable. I had to readjust the way it was being held down. I added in some more staples, to hold down the other nodes breaking free.
10/4/21: Day 27. 💩💧Added in the Gaia Green Power Bloom nutrients, at 1 tbsp per gallon of soil. Watered in thoroughly.

10/6/21: Day 29. I was preoccupied with fishing lately, and forgot to write down anything I did, or noticed with the plants.
10/8/21: Day 31. 🍃💧Removed a few leaves, and tucked some others. Gave a good dosage of water, a little over 1/2 L.
10/11/21: Day 34. 💧Plant is looking great, and smells the same. No signs of any purple yet, but I'm not worried. Trichomes are starting to show all over, not just near the buds. I'm seeing 2 large colas, and 4 smaller ones. I'm now taking a guess of a final dry weight of 22g. I'd rather more, but I want to keep it realistic for now. Watered with roughly 1/2 L, leaving the pot feeling sufficiently moist.
10/12/21: Day 35. Won't be much longer now, it's picking up speed quickly, and headed for the finish line. Next time I grow this, it will be in a much bigger pot.

10/14/21: Day 37. 💧Buds are just getting bigger and better everyday. Can't wait to see what it's like at the end of the month, and then of course a little while later for the harvest. The smell is incredible, it's both sweet smelling, while carrying the right amount of dankness to feel as of it's going to be a knockout. As I developed a headache yesterday afternoon, I had to push back my watering until today. A solid 3/4L. I'm noticing some yellowing of the leaves, I suppose the smaller dosage of nutrients is showing its effect.
10/16/21: Day 39. 💩💧As the yellowing leaves are getting worse, I added in 1/2 a tablespoon each of the All Purpose and the Power Bloom. When I initially added the PB, I didn't add the full amount for a 1.5g bucket, which would be 1.5 tbsp, I only used 1tbsp, thinking I would be fine.
The new addition today won't have any effect for a few days, so I will continue to monitor it. All future nutrient feedings will be at the recommended dosage, if not airing slightly higher.
10/17/21: Day 40. 💧As I recently added in those extra nutrients, I watered down the top layers of soil again. Not sure on the amount, as I just used some of what was in the pump sprayer. It wasn't a lot, just enough to thoroughly wet the surface.
10/19/21: Day 42. 💧Yellowing seems to have subsided, as no new leaves have lost colouring. Buds are becoming more and more covered in trichomes, and the new growth is starting to take on a tinge of purple. It's hard to see in today's photos, but it's visible to the eye. Gave a thorough watering. The bucket was quite light, which is good. I didn't allow any runoff, something I'm getting better at controlling.

10/20/21: Day 43. 💧Plant is looking much better overall. Leaves are getting the green back slowly, not that it matters much at this point. Buds are getting very fat and crystaly, and the smell is getting more intense each day. If the buds keep growing, I can see this yielding a bit more than originally anticipated on Day 34
10/22/21: Day 45. Not entirely sure what is going on, the plant seems to want to go yellow still. The buds still look good, so I'm not sure if they are just sucking out the nitrogen. Buds are fattening up at a fantastic speed. Everyday I see them a little bit fuller, and more covered in trichomes. Several hairs are starting to turn red, which doesn't mean a whole lot just yet. I am anticipating at least another two to three weeks before it's ready for harvest, but it might be sooner. I'm not in a rush, as it will still be curing a while before smoking.
10/24/21: Day 47. 💧The smell is incredible, becoming more potent each day. It's now noticeable right away after opening the tent, and not just when buds are rustled. I can see the buds slowly getting darker. Not extremely dark, at least not yet. It looks as if it will be a beautiful looking bud once it's all finished. Watering is becoming an everyday thing, so I will go back to the juice container of water.
10/26/21: Day 49. 🍃Removed a few more leaves, mostly the dying ones, and a few more to open up light to lower buds. The amount of yellowing is still confusing me, as it should have at least subsided by now. A good test of the genetics, as it's still going strong. The next run will be a much more controlled run, with proper nutrient dosage at the right time. I'm amazed at how fast the hairs are dying back, what once contained a few red hairs, now has a nice covering. Still plenty to go, since I won't be harvesting this one early. Two more weeks minimum, unless issues arise.

10/27/21: Day 50. 💧Buds are still developing a nice light purple on the inner most portion of the buds, and seems to be spreading outward slowly. The amount of trichome coverage has increased quite noticeably, spreading out further on the leaves. There seems like there will be little wasted with this plant, with all smokable bud, or sticky trim suited for good oil.
10/29/21: Day 52. 💧Loving the speed in which this plant is developing. Buds are getting fat, leaves are glistening with resin glands, the smell is intoxicating, I absolutely love it. Even though the pot wasn't exactly dry, I still gave it some water. I'm at a point we're I don't want to let it get too dry. As the other flowering plant in my tent (Dark Devil Auto) is stretched up much higher than the Purple Lemonade, I put an empty planter underneath the PL, to raise it's canopy much closer to the light. The plant was doing good were it was, so I can always move it back down if it's needed.
10/31/21: Day 54. 💧Buds are still thickening up, hairs are dying back at an even rate, the smell becoming less of a sharp citrus smell, and more of a sweet candy smell. A citrus fruit candy mind you, but nothing of the rich lemony stink that fresh lemonade has. Buds are still slowly turning light shades of purples. Nothing deep and dark like others have received, but I am not disappointed, as it want the colour I was wanting this for. Colours are nice, but not necessary. I'm sure when I grow this again in the other tent under my LED with overall lower temperatures, I'm sure we will see some nice purple hues coming through.
11/2/21: Day 56. 💧At this point there isn't much more I can say, except ramble. The buds are fattening up, trichomes are turning cloudy, and the hairs are still dying back. The purples are still mixing in the buds, but nothing more than you would find on most buds nowadays. The smell is still the best part of the plant, as it's quite a strong, but pleasant aroma. Even though I wish I didn't train this plant, I can still see that it's going to produce a decent amount for me. The main cola should dry up and be well over 7g all on its own. I know, I know. 7g cola isn't very big I know, but right now it's only a speculation, and I'm airing on the low side.

11/3/21: Day 57. 💧I wish I can turn the world ahead 3 months, as that's when I could first smoke some of this bud. That's living in a fantasy world though. Allowing enough time to finish flowering, harvest, dry, and then cure for 4 weeks before testing. Since I'm not yet ready to go into that schedule, I will definitely be tasting some as soon as it's dried out enough. I built an auto cure system that works wonders, I just need to build up a good stash in the meantime, before I can start having a proper cycle.
1. Have buds cured to smoke
2. Have buds in the auto cure
3. Have plants flowering
4. Have plants vegging.
I'm currently working on my way up to that plan, as I've got some photoperiods that will be grown out into large bushes. The auto cure will also be thoroughly tested in the next few months.
11/5/21: Day 59. 💧Watered again thoroughly. More hairs have died back, but I'm still not ready to harvest. It's at the point where I can cut it down anytime, but I want to wait and give it a little longer, and see if anything changes.
11/7/21: Day 61. I had to move the plant closer to the light, as the other plant had grew some more. I used another empty pot as a base, so it's not exactly the best option, but it will certainly do for now. There isn't any concern of the pots tipping over.
11/8/21: Day 62. 💧Pot was a lot dryer than I would have liked it, so I go it a nice dosage. There are now more red hairs than there are white. Looks as though it will be harvest time very soon.
11/9/21: Day 63. I found my scope last night, and decided to check the trichomes. Unfortunately I still see lots of mixed results. Lots of clear heads, but some are milky, and others are amber. Regardless, I will give it at least one more full week, but possibly two weeks, if needed. Some leaves are getting crispy, which is odd, as I've been watering quite often. Perhaps it's just because it's ready to die.
Wk10
11/10/21: Day 64. 💧I have no idea what I should do. Should I chop it now, and use it to compare my next grow to, or wait another week and then chop? I think I'll let the pot dry out one more time, and then cut it down. Might as well have a baseline to go by. With plenty of cloudy trichomes, it's likely a good time to come down anyhow. Everyday I see more and more pistils dying back, but also a bunch of new hairs being pushed out, so it's confusing. I have a feeling that it's going to start foxtailing if I let it go much longer. Right now, buds are still very tight. If I do anything else before harvest, it will be a wet trim of most leaves.
11/11/21: Day 65. Pot is a bit lighter today, but not enough for me to say it's time. I've never been one to harvest just before the lights come on, and just chop it down whenever I felt like it, and had the time. I'm not sure if I will wait until early morning, or just go with what I've always done. I really don't feel like waking up at 4:30 and making a bunch of noise. I should really change my lighting schedule to make that easier, but I would be very unhappy if I couldn't check on, and take care of my plants during the morning and throughout the early afternoon. My thoughts on the plant came true. I opened the tent today, and saw some foxtails forming. Right now it's alright, as it's just a bit more bud to smoke, but if I left it to go for the entire rest of the week, it would definitely look like it had some lumps. So, that means it's time to wet trim, then chop down and hang it. Thankfully I have a small empty tent that I can use for drying. I have a fan in there still, so the air will be moving. Cannot wait to give this a test.
11/12/21: Day 66. 🌲Pot is definitely light enough to harvest today. As much as I'd like this to be my first dark harvest (chop 1 hour before light, or 5 hours after dark), I'll just stick with my usual plan and chop it down later, once I've taken care of a few other small things. I can see even more foxtails forming, and the old ones are now very prominent. I know there are several reasons for that to happen, with one being genetically predispositioned to growing them, but this is not likely the case. They are likely caused by my movent of the plant mich closer to the light, technically just a smidge too close. Oh well, I don't mind a few buds messed up, just as long as it's not the entire plant.
Plant is now hanging inside the upstairs tent with a fan for air circulation. I will monitor it's weight loss every two days, and then jar and cure some remaining buds for approximately 4 weeks in my auto cure. It may not last that long, but I'm going to try. I will do my best to keep the main cola separate and intact for a future session.
Chop: 88.1g or 3.11oz
11/14/21: Day 68. 35.5g or 1.14 oz
11/15/21: Day 68. Total dry: 20.7g. Bud is actually quite crumbly, so I'm sure once its brought back up to the 64% the Integra pack provides, it will have a better weight. Some smaller buds were smoked for testing, while a good portion is in the small auto cure, where it shall hopefully remain for the next 4 weeks. Updates will be provided once buds are cured for a true smoke report.
End Diary
As you can see, the plant did not finish on a desired colour. I do not mean a dark purple, but a high level of yellowing in the leaves. It started early in the flowering process, and continued to get worse. The plant however, persevered and finished strong. Even though the plant did not finish up looking like an ideal specimen, it allowed me to learn a lot about the genetics, and how to work with the dry amendments with this strain. Next round will be mich better, I guarantee. Don't believe me! Just watch! We will see it together.
