Day 13
Hi Team,
This is the commissioning grow of my brand new wardrobe setup. The updates will focus on the plants but also touch on the gear.
I love the crispness of the pure coco indoor grows. But I had even better results with outdoor chilly peppers in the coco / 15% worm castings mix and will now try it indoor. The goal is to achieve the flavours of an organic soil grow, in a gnat-free clean environment.
The seedlings absolutely rock. They are 2-3 days ahead of the pure coco grows under the same 65W CFL bulb with a tinfoil reflector. I will feed them the House and Garden coco line nutes at half strength throughout the grow and maybe boost potassium mid flower.
The seedlings are growing so fast that they are ahead of my flowering setup - more on this in the next update.
Will stake my yield expectations upfront - less than 7 Oz (from two plants) would be underwhelming.
If this sound interesting please keep checking the weekly updates. Any Q's - ask away!
Day 17
The ladies have moved into the flowering space in the wardrobe. I will mix the 5000K CFL lighting with the 3000K LEDs for a week and then switch to LEDs.
The only slight issue is that I kept them in the grow socks for a bit too long but they should recover quickly.
The grow space is off our main bedroom - to elevate the CO2 for the plants and lower it for humans. A normal outdoor level is 400ppm, indoor living spaces 650ppm, bedrooms up to 1200-1500ppm. From what I understand CO2 levels around 1000ppm offer at least 25% higher yields in otherwise good growing conditions so we will see
Day 24
Both plants doing well, still ahead of my pure coco grows - looks like the addition of worm castings helps. No training as such, just tucking the fan leaves to bring the shoots out to the light.
The grow setup is outperforming expectations. AC Infinity T4 fan is a star - silent, efficient, runs off phone app. The main flowering light has 3000K led elements so supplementing it with a 5000K CFL bulb at the moment. Two 20cm whisper quiet USB desk fans for circulation.
Day 32
Nothing major to report, both ladies doing really well early in flower. I pinned the apex shoots down and water to run off every second day. Pruned a dozen yellowing leaves.
The smaller plant in the middle is a G13 Labs Dosi auto
Day 40
Ladies are in prime shape and show no signs of slowing.
I grew amnesia auto before and looks like this plant is a more sativa pheno. Royal creamatic is running a week ahead of amnesia but this was expected.
Day 57
The grow is outperforming my expectations - both in terms of how healthy the plants look and the likely yield.
Royal Creamatic grew to around 60cm but is quite bushy. The buds are stacking up nicely. Should be ready to harvest next weekend and I am hoping for around 4-5Oz. Not bad.
Amnesia Auto needs three more weeks. I grew two of them before and the one in the tent is the sativa pheno - my favourite. Too early to talk about the yield but if the buds fatten properly I will end up with seven or eight foot long colas. Yum.
Day 67
Royal creamatic in the middle, raised. Nice conical buds not overly resinous but not dry either. Trichomes all milky in week 10 so will chop soon, well ahead of the breeders recommendation for 12-13 weeks. Expecting over 4Oz from it.
Amnesia auto (hard left) is a ripper. For training I only pinned the apex shoot down but got it spot on and ended up with six main colas at the same level. This makes adjusting the lights easier. The buds on the main colas are already clustering and the plant has at least 3 more weeks to fatten them. The buds and sugar leaves are heavily coated and glisten in the lights. I will take her late into the harvesting window to see how sticky she gets. 5Oz possible from this lady.
I managed to add the G13 Labs auto dosi which crashed the tent 😀 to the grow journal so here are the updates:
Amnesia auto (day 71) is ripening delightfully and looks amazing. Coming down in 9-10 days, 4-5Oz my best guess.
Dosi auto by G13 Labs (day 51) is a delightful plant. Very vigorous but finally stopped the stretch around 1m, perfect for my grow. For ceremonial reasons will be cut on July 13 so deep into amber trichs.
Day 71
This is stage 2 of the harvest - two dominant branches plus some laterals. Indica structure, sticky buds, potentially good jar appeal. Very fragrant.
I will put it through my 7 days drying cycle and report then.
Day 78
The amnesia plant is ready and coming down this weekend. The buds are looking great.
Dosi will need another two weeks. The colas are still filling out so expecting a decent yield
She came down in week 11 with all trichs milky. The most productive plant of the three grown also the tallest at around 1.0m. Nice, clustered mid density buds. Very little smell at harvest. I really look forward to sampling this one
