As I noted in our other diaries I was unable to get these logs started earlier because I was ill. This is a limited edition strain from seedsman seeds and she is a keeper, also a favourite to say the least.
This beauty is a clone that was taken before her mother went into bloom and we are sure glad we kept her growing. As you can see she has been planted in one of our new garden beds and she is quite happy with her life. One of the best qualities that she maintains is her ability to fight off any sort of issue, with the abuse our plants took over the winter months this was the only one that the mildew could not live on. It was incredible to see how clean and strong she remained when she was beside a plant that was covered in the nasty powder.
Another amazing quality is how well she held up to the chilly nights in the greenhouse, we almost lost a few ladies but this girl held on without any issue.
Based on the mother plant we grew we know she is a heavy hitter, I (TOH) am a wee bit annoyed with the harshness of the smoke because I am unable to smoke it. This girl will most likely be harvested in two intervals so I can actually enjoy her also, just because it can be stronger doesn’t mean it should. Either way this is going to be a beautiful beast and we are excited to see her bloom outdoors.
I do have pictures of her before this point but unfortunately they are not organized for me to locate easily so we grow on from this point on. The garden bed itself has a few other plants growing in it but we have not started a cover crop, that will have to wait for the fall although we will use trimmings from the other beds to dress up the top in hopes of providing a natural source of nutrients, along with maintaining the moistness on the top of the bed.
This will be quite the ceremony when the harvest time arrives.
It is hard to put the beauty of this girl into words so we will just go with gorgeous, this lady is flawless and we do believe she will maintain that all season long. The strong winds did not faze her and she is looking brilliant.
This girl is WOW to look at and we admire her very much. The only issues that we have had with her was a cluster of stink bugs which had to be destroyed, hopefully we do not find anymore.
We are pleased to report another great week has been had by all and there are not any issues to mention.
The top dress along with Bokashi was applied and they enjoyed a rain barrel treat mixed with Hygrozyme along with Hyshield once this week. A good spray of NForce helped with the aphids along with the stink bugs that were threatening to take over the gardens and Optic foliar spray was applied once a few days later, so far we are happily growing! We have been watering daily to keep things moist, on the hotter days it has both morning and night.
As you can see this lady has a lean so a bungee has been attached and hopefully it helps her stay balanced!
This beautiful and buoyant girl is as wide as she is tall and she is FABULOUS! We have maintained the same regimen with her on a weekly basis, we are watering twice a day to maintain the moisture in the bed and Epsom salts has been added to the barrel once or twice thus far. We do not have any issues to report and we are quite sure she will maintain her healthy, stealthy self! The pests are slowly disappearing which is wonderful although we know another set will surely arrive to keep us busy. The inside of her has been cleaned although it really can not be noticed with the amount of growth that she has, her stalk is like a tree and her body is like a bush! WOW for this girl!
Another fantastic report for this beauty, not a issue with her at all. This is one we would love to keep so C.C. is debating on taking a few cuttings before it is to late. The lean seems to be increasing but she seems strong and well rooted, it would break our hearts if she fell over because so far she is the star of the garden this year. Soon the changes will occur and we are excited!
The week was pretty good for this beauty and we have finally hit the bloom stage, this plant is incredibly strong and she is lushly thick. We do not anticipate any issues with her but the grasshoppers have arrived and they have welcomed themselves into the garden, if you look closely at the pics you can see one sitting up on the top of her. We hope that things move quickly now and that the weather cooperates, the biggest worry to come is the rot but that won’t take place for a while yet.
As you can see there has been more than an issue with this beauty over the last week and it is hard to believe she is standing upright again. We believe we must have pulled to hard when she started to lean and the roots became weak and brittle. I covered her with a soaking wet towel and she lay that way for over four hours before we could get to her. We then had to figure out a way to prop her up without pulling her free and somehow we did just that. Once she was upright I (T.O.H.) held on for dear life while he (C.C.) worked as fast as he could to secure her, so far she seems to be doing okay and we hope she is rerooting herself. This is an absolute first for us and we are still in disbelief but it will be truely awesome if she makes it. 🙏 Nature is WOW
This is not a harvest diary log, it is a dead plant log but unfortunately there is not an option for that as of yet and it doesn’t seem right to just delete her life. This beauty was fabulous until we decided to help her with her lean, we must have damaged her roots and death took over. It is a sad shame but another lesson has been learned.
