So far so good. Strain is growing correctly and without any weird symptoms. Probably by end of this Week I will transplant it to the final pot and two weeks later I will Top it to start with the scrog :D
Its been a slow Week. The change of pot and topping was too much for the fella. But its recovering nicely and the screen is already placed. In one day it passed the screen. This will be awesome the next weeks :D
Next Week will be the last in vegetation. The plant had already gather strength and leafs are growing fast. Not as fast as I would expect compared to the Power Plant, but it IS in a smaller pot and doesnt have a twin to share roots with hehe. One more week before continuing in Flowering with the lst.
First week of flowering. LST will continue and I had to add some CalMag because there were a couple of leafs showing defficiency. Growth is a bit slow compared with the PP from Dutch Passion, but I believe thats because of the smaller pot
Flowers are showing a little :D Last LST was performed on the higher arm that was beggining to have a lot of flowers. Plant is starting to pull the screen up, so I believe next time I'll have to stretch it more. A lot of watering required now, plant got very hungry.
I bought a tds tool to measure the ppm and surprise surprise! The water I've been using the past year is shitty as f***. Good that I could obtain a Reverse Osmosis system to get a water lower than 100ppm. This should help a lot to the future growth. Now i just need a ph tool to help the soil and the buds should be much bigger :) Im glad that the buds are starting o get fat now. Plant did stretch more after the 4th week. Now its time for trichomes.
I got a new led and switch the system to it while on this week. Hope it wont hurt the plants. First yellow leaves are appearing really fast and buds started to grow. Trichomes are still shy and wont appear, But I hope that during 7th week this will be different, now that the nutrient is boosted. Im starting to really think that scrog is more than just LST. Im doing something wrong because the buds are smaller than i expected.
Boosted a little the nitrogen and waiting for the new extractor to arrive. The summer has come and the temperatures boosted to about 33°C, so the indoor is suffering :( I believe I have some Phosphorus deficiency. Couldn't tell. Either way, I will give some with honey and guano next week.. What are your thoughts on the purple leaf?
Still not mature enough, I will probably leave the plant until week 12th.
8th week into flowering and trichomas appearing a little more. Managed to reduce the heat in the indoor with a new extractor. These summer days are getting hotter and hotter :( . Humidity lowered at critical point So I'm introducing some water and humidifier (not working since last harvest due to harsh water :( ) I Will leave the strain for 3 more weeks until 12th so the trichomes can Mature enough.
Not much has happened this week. I removed the nutrients and provided water only. Next week will be the harvest since the trichs are nice and shinny with some amber on the way.
I liked this strain, gained a nice purple color I havent seen and it was beautiful to grow. Unfortunately, the stretch wasnt very good and the buds were smaller than i thought. After checking that the flowering phase is from 10 to 12 weeks, I realized that this strain is not quite for me hehe. I will continue with the 7-9weeks strain for now. Until then, I will probably try again the Haze. It was a fun ride.
I've made the wrong decision last night ... Have this Haze at midnight. Do it for morning Use, after the vape, I couldnt get to sleep because it made me awake, energetic and with plenty of ideas to go and do at 00:30 in the night. I had to work the next morning xD. So, totally a morning Use, unlike for example Power Plant and Sideral, that can be used in the afternoon when you get home, just to chill and relax.
The grow could have been better, and will definitely adjust my technics and nutrients, along with a full attention to watering. Next harvest will be better :)
Are you sure it's bad water? My tap water is ~200 ppm but it's one of the highest qualities in the world. It just contains a bit more calcium, magnesium and other elements. You may be able to get an analysis from whoever provides your water. Granted, if you can go below 100ppm that would be great of course.
For me, I can actually use less nutrients because the water already has a lot in it :) and the water is really cheap. Your plant looks very healthy.
By the way, I see that you are using organic nutrients. These are slow-release, and are converted to usable nutrients at the root zone. With organics, PH-ing is Not an issue as plants actually make the soil around the roots alkaline or acid themselves. With the help of living things in the soil. (bacteria, fungi). Adding PH minus (often phosphoric acid) quickly decimates this microbial life in the soil and will harm the plant. (PK13/14 fertilizer is also known to kill soil life)
I can't re-tell the story in 100% detail, but it came from a Plagron representative: With organic growing, monitoring PH is not necessary if you are using good soil and good nutrients. :) The beauty and health of your plant seems to agree.
@Gullo, No problem man, I found this info very useful too and applied it with strawberries and tomatoes. It could indeed be underwatering or be the different needs of the genetics. In my current grow the pineapple chunk got slightly deficient in potassium while the critical plants are fine in that regard. 😊
@BillMonroe, WOw , this was really helpful Bill. Remember that this Power Plant came with a twin, so I figure that maybe the nutrients should be in a higher ratio to satisfy their needs (maybe). Underwatering was an issue in two weeks thou, so the yellow leaves could be because of that. The Shining Silver haze doesnt have an issue with yellow leaves and its only one. Note to head: if you get twins again, boost the nutrients and dont-forget-to-water the ladies hehehe. Thank you Bill!
@Gullo, I agree that the powerplant looks a little yellow for week 5 of flower because it seems to be working its way up the canopy. The chlorosis on the lower leaves could point to N deficiency. Maybe the underwatering has to do with it. I see that in the first week of bloom you went to 1:2 ratio of grow:bloom nutrients, In the first 3 weeks of bloom the plant uses really high amounts of nitrogen to complete its structure and make space for buds, maybe this powerplant even more so. From what I have read, keeping a slightly higher dose of grow nutrients (or, just normal "grow feed") in the first few weeks of bloom is good. 😀
It looks like the PP will still be really good 👍
I'm also growing shiny silverhaze near end week 8 now, buds comming reall nice aswell curious how your grow goes, looks really good already ;) Good luck!
@Gullo, Sweet, im using SK602 for first time on the ladys curious if its better than my previous light it had bugs so i switched but its looking alot better than before! I just uploaded some pictures, so you can check it out mate. Did some burning but not too bad ;)
@MyCloset, Cool!. Im happy with the grow, but could be better lol. The Power Plant is growing faster than this one, but I believe is due to the light. I will switch to led at the end of the month. Will love to check some of your Shiny Silver Haze to see if I'm going in the right direction ^^. CHeers!
Also consider HID/hps plants drink alot more if you compare it with led
Im using led and they drink 1 Liter easy per 24h in a 19liter pot
I also had a couple times i was a bit too late with watering, wich will turn the bottem leaves yellow aswell, You can tell when the leaves start hanging down starting from the bottem (wich will die after to recover the rest of the plant)
Goodluck bro!
@MyCloset, NIce info! I've forgot to water this plant several times during flowering and happened exactly what you pointed out. The buds are growing and trichomes appeared all over the bud though. So far so good :)
@ChefDan420, Good Question 😅. I haven't grow the Super Silver Haze, but read that they are actually the same, only from different banks (Shining from Royal and Super Silver from Green House)
