Places the 5 seeds in damp paper towel in a sandwich Tupperware container in a zip lock bag and placed the container on a folded towel with a clone warmer and kept the Temps at 25-26c
Major difference in the second growth of these plants, very vigorous and healthy...I turned my 1100w EGT from eco Growtech up to 50% today, PPFD is 600, VPD with the humidity at 65% and temp at 23c is 0.95 at the very top of the range for healthy perspiration and nutrients uptake...Just using regular plan old house tap water and I PH to 6.5 as recommended by Mr Canucks for his blend of soil using Gaia Green products...
Today dec 9th I spent a hour or so cleaning up around the tent and in the tent, I also bought some plant twine and did some heavy LST today, I also did some major defoliation as well, those huge fan leaves were hiding some major gems...For my first time really doing some LST I only dislocated one branch from the main stock I just tied it back and it should be fine...I posted a picture of some of the other amendments so others could do some research...
I decided to do a bit more defoliation to clean up the bigger leaves which are hiding the smaller nodes to allow light access and they really benefited from the hair cut...Although I maken a mistake and chopped off one of the bigger arms by mistake, I should have loosened the twisted ties on the branch and I didn't and the sharpe edges dug in and cut the branch off when I was trying to tie it down, lesson learned....I shut off the autopot system to the main reservoir to allow the plants to dry out so that I can top dress them next week and water from the top for a couple days to let the nutrients work their way through the soil...Im pretty sure this will work and it should really ramp up the growth..Im going to flip to 12 and 12 in the next 2 weeks depending on how big they get, just loving the growth on them now
Top feed them today 3 tablespoons per gallon of GG 4-4-4, 2-8-4 and worm castings, my VPD is at optimum 0.95 and my PPFD is on average just below 600 and the soil temp is 23c water ph is 6.5 and the LST is really allowing the little growth to blast off...2 or 3 more weeks of veg and ill be flipping to flower...These girls should take off in the 2 weeks..Going to top water for the next few days to make sure the ammendments have been fully saturated and incorporated and then flip the autopots back on...
Update on the week, ive been having issues with fan leaves over growing the nodes so I decided to do another defoliation and cleaned up some of the major offenders, I talk to a good friend of mine and he told me my light might be the reason why I'm having issues is because it's to powerful, so I turned the light down to 25% so ill be just in the 400 ppfd range to allow them to stretch and give them some high...I also learned a lesson today, I left the air dome going and I likely should have shut it off from day one when I was trying to dry the pots out for preping for to feeding, I might have killed off a bit of the roots but my buddy told me I likely did very little damage so from this point on before prep I'm going to shut off the air domes...going to water again in 48 hours and then turn the system back on...Also did some LST and even out the canopy
Some of the other great people on here had stated that they saw a bit of clawing of the leaves so after I gave them their final top water today I made some significant adjustments, I turned down the temp to 18 and RH to 55 which is still well withing the optimal VPD which will slow uptake of water inturn slow nitrogen uptake and I turned the light down just incase it's light burn and I redirected the fan incase it's windburn, so I've eliminated 85% of the factors that could be causing the stress but now that I set down and put some thought into it I got I'm beginning to think it's my DLI that was the issue now that I went down and measured it, along with my PPFD, the DLI was through the roof and after I made a height adjustment and power adjustment the DLI is now well within the parameters and the PPFD is on the lower side at 300 + or - but ya i think they were getting a bit of sun burn, so to speak even after I made adjustments last time by turning the light down the DLI was well over the proper parameters now it fine...Im going to give them a couple days with the PPFD and DLI change and the VPD adjustment and see where they're at because the smaller plant isn't exhibiting the same signs as the other because it was 6 or 8 inches smaller so that leads me to believe logically speaking that the light was stressing them...So the tasks today finished with letting them acclimate to the changes and then I went down and checked the trays to see if there was any run off after watering and there wasn't, so I turned on the valves to the reservoir after filling it with ph water to 6.5 and let the trays fill up, I did so with the cover off to see if everything was flowing good and then I closed it up and shut the tent and let them get back to being awesome...Update in a couple days!!
Oh and I did a little tying down and tucking as well to let the lower nodes and branches get some light..
Quick up date, they're starting to perk back up and the leaves have given up on their strange grip they should be fine in 48 hours...
Added a pic for dec 25th which shows the turn around from the clawing i had going on..
Flower date Dec 29 at 9pm day 1 begins
Ok so today kicks off the first day of flower, they're going to get their first 12 hours of darkness tonight from 9pm to 9am and they're really ready to go for the sky..Everything is dialed in for best PPFD at 500+/- the VPD is going to be switch over in the am to 27c and 69rh to set it a solid 1.11 vpd...I filled the reservoir wire my all new "water station" had the plumber instal it today everything is at my fingertips, no more lugging 20L jugs down 2 stories to the basement...Water was Ph'd at 6.5 and the temp is 23c l, light distance was changed then other day and reinstalled to very top of the tent with a distance of 47 inches +/- all the plants are sitting between 18 and 21 inches they're total thriving in the parameters they're in...Just have to wait for the electrician to come in the next week or so to install my power station so that I can localize all my cables and inkbird thermostat and RH meter...They should take roughly 8 to 10 weeks to reach maturity and im hoping they progress nicely...Should be pushing through the downstairs tenants living room in no time...lmao....
Shout out to my good buddy mining_green thanks for coming over and giving me a hand and getting the girls comfortable in the tent again, also thanks for the photo shoot they look great, we'll do some tweaking and get a really good flow going for the next photo run...
DEC 30, I turned the 1100w EGT from Eco Growtech up to 75% the PPFD was 580-600 also turned the RH down to 68% temp is 25.5 for a VPD value of 1.08 the DLI was roughly 38- 40, they're happy and healthy, just have to give one of the ladies a foliar spraying of Epson salt at a tsp per L tobigbt, it has been showing signs of mag deficiency
Jan 4th day 7 of flower
Today is a struggle between temp and Rh, I have so much greenery in the tent that it's created it's own climate, I went in yesterday and disconnected the heater and added a dehumidifier and switched up some of the work 2 plugs on the inkbird thermostat and Rh meter to mitigate the fluctuations in Temp and RH which are drastic in nature, I have the temp set to 23 and the RH at 65 for a VPD of .98 but with so much humidity being released by the plants the resting Rh with the dehumidifier running is 71 and the temp is 26 without the heater, I have 2 online fans running one in and one out to bring in fresh cooler and dryer air and one pushing the hot moist air out and there seems to be no change....I also added a 30 inch Dewalt fan to the tent to move air, it's pointing straight up almost moving as much air as possible but I need to come up with a solution to bring things into homeostasis because this isn't working, will update as soon as I figure this out...I.got a buddy of mine coming over to help me and we'll see.how it goes..
Update: jan 5th day 8 of flower
Got the tent dialed back in somewhat, had to move swap some circuits around to get the right air flow and humidity going with the help of my good buddy mining_green, we swapped the flow of the inline fans bigger in smaller out...Today I did a little bit of defoliation on one of the girls in order to get some air flow moving around and to test a theory...refilled the reservoir and PH'ed to 6.5...the tent is holding up at around 25.5c and 68 Rh give or take a couple % depending on if the fan is running or the dehumidifier is on..So ill keep track and update as needed..
7th of Jan 9:00pm Day 10 of Flower
Added over 20L to reservoir and PH'd the water to 6.5
9th of Jan 4:00 pm. Day 12 of flower
Had to fill the reservoir again and PH the water, these girls are going through some pile of water now that their in flower...
Jan 10 th day 13 of flower
I know it goes against much of what other people say concerning defoliation but I did defoliate before day 21, I personally have seen other do so and not jeopardize the plants so I followed my instinct and did it, I took of a pretty substantial amount of fan leaves opening up the canopy significantly allowing as much light in as possible while I was did this I also removed the LST ties I used through the prior months as to allow the stocks to grow unimpeded...After I did the defoliation I proceeded to top feed after I broke up the soil I use 3 tablespoons per gallon which was 12 tablespoons each in total of Gaia Green worm castings, 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 I also top watered 2L at 6.5 ph....Later I add the scrog and flattened out the girls as much as possible I had to super crop two tops which were 8 inch above the canopy...left the autopot system turned off for 24 hours
Jan 11th day 14 of flower
Added 1L of water to all 4 girls and turned the autopots back on for normal watering...
Day 22 of flower
Went down this after noon and gave the reservoir a check had to add just a drop of ph down to get the water to settle at 6.5 I have to open up one side of my tent over 1/2 way and the other side 1/3 open to keep the RH and temp at the proper VPD which is running at 1.08...Right now it's basically on auto pilot not much I'm doing other then checking up on them and filling the res..I broke a fucking branch off today of one the really nice tops, it was one the tops I LST a couple 3 weeks a go and bent a little to far, I went to adjust it under the next square in the scrogg and it broke off, fuck sakes...Everything else is tip top and on track they should be really putting on weight soon the GG should be broke down and the plants should be uptaking it really nicely...Signing off hope to raise the roof
Day 31 of flower
Basically the girls are on autopilot, with the autopots and Gaia green there really isn't much to do, both methods are super user friendly and the basic needs that need to be meet are just ph water in the reservoir every couple days and then watch them stack buds on top of buds...Occasionally I move a branch over to another square in the net to make room but Basically after the last top feeding it's just watch and weight, pun intended....
Day 32 to 38 of flower
Basically the girls are on autopilot, with the autopots and Gaia green there really isn't much to do, both methods are super user friendly and the basic needs that need to be meet are just ph water in the reservoir every couple days and then watch them stack buds on top of buds...Occasionally I move a branch over to another square in the net to make room but Basically after the last top feeding it's just watch and weight, pun intended....
Day 39 to 46 of flower
Basically the girls are on autopilot, with the autopots and Gaia green there really isn't much to do, both methods are super user friendly and the basic needs that need to be meet are just ph water in the reservoir every couple days and then watch them stack buds on top of buds...Occasionally I move a branch over to another square in the net to make room but Basically after the last top feeding it's just watch and weight, pun intended....
Day 52 to 59
These girls are on autopilot been chasing VPD a bit opening flaps and closing them on the tent until it's as close as I can get but other then that it's a no brainer right now
As for what I've been doing for maintenance, I've been watching and waiting and just adding water when needed into the reservoir, should be less then 2 or 3 days by now
How long is the average wait time for a prize to be delivered, I'm in Canada not sure if this makes any difference, I won a prize in Feb and haven't received it yet?
