Do I need to defoliate her more around where the buds are fattening up?? I've been defoliating her but lightly once every other week or as needed. How much leaves should I leave on her??
no.. leaves power growth. Ripening is growth, too. Light hitting plant mass with 1/100th to 1/1000th the aerial density of chlorophyl is not as good as light hitting leaves. ATP powers the plant.. ATP is the prodcut of photosynthesis.
What you mention is a parallel to the characters in "Idiocracy" trying to explain why they water with Brawndo... "it's got electrolytes..." lol. People that don't know any better but incredibly confident about their baseless conclusion and circular logic pulled from the ether.
Good week. Still dealing with the aftermath of the hot drought resulting in sun-burnt leaves. Still, the frost continues to come in despite the burnt leaves and she's carrying on nicely, or best as she can with her burns 🔥. She's not stretching anymore but continues to swell up her buds and trichomes.
She's still chugging along just fine it seems. I can tell I've lost some yield due to heat and nutrient burn despite rookie mistakes. Still seeing some new growth around buds and towards the lower canopy so I think I'll let her go another few weeks, reassessing weekly of course.
I think I'll let her go another 5-8 days before havest and I'll flush her lightly and slowly with nothing but spring water 3-4 of those days. I'm all organic so I don't see a need for a hard flush like most do as this wouldn't happen in nature. I'm aiming for a light mix of amber colored trichomes maybe 20-30% but mostly milky-white 70-75% honoring the beast Sativa she is but still can offer me some pain relief and relaxation as well
Flushed her with plain spring water for entire week, has about 10% amber trichomes. I want her sativa to really shine so I'm leaving mostly milky-white trichomes. Harvesting and drying in dry tent next week.
Hanging upside down in drying tent for 5-7 days or until I feel she's ready to be jarred for curing.
Keeping Temps and humidity between 65°~ 73° & 50%~60% inside the tent. Did a small amount of wet trimming but the majority will be dry trimmed.
Will update with final dry weight when we get there.
