So looking forward to grow those Royal Queen Green Gelato seeds with organic booster!
I used Royal queen easy starter kit with heat mat and 2 days later 4 have already rooted!
3 little gelato have taken off, 2 sprouted but died soon after and I am sure the heat mat I use was too hot for them...
I was so lucky 3 rooted so quickly and did not stay too long on it!
Never use easy root kit from RQ with heat mat because it is too low in size to use with it, or I should prop it up on something to keep it at a safe distance from the heat!!!
From 5 seeds I got one that is very healthy and robust, another one that is much smaller and a runt that does not want to grow new leaves, and the last 2 that did not make it.
So pleased with one of the green gelato, I will call her Wow, she is robust, healthy and growing fast.
The two others seemed stunted, lol I blame my heat mat...
one in particular grew really strange first set of leaves, and stayed like that for 1 week, I even nearly discarded her, but just kept her out of curiosity, and see if side shoots would pop out...nd they did!
Looks like they just needed time to adjust to my setting!
I am not using any nuts for now, just little Epsom salt.
Everything going nicely, even the runt who grew deformed first leaves has started to grow healthy and she smells very strong and funky already when rubbed...Unlike her much bigger sister who does not release scent yet...
This week will change to bigger pot, I am using special bat soil and worm juice with nettles and seaweed also pinched/bent the top so lower side shoots can catch up. Will take some cuttings later on and will keep as a mother, if I like her.
Significant roots increase in all of them, one is extremely healthy and vigorous I hope she is a keeper!
They love the soil with bat poo from House &Garden!
I found some big lumps of what looks like IKEA wardrobe and big stones in the mix!
For the price of this soil you would think they could check it better!
Anyway my plants seems to respond quite well to it so will use this soil until the end.
They are loving the seaweed liquid with nettles and worm cast, also the soil seems ok.
Very nice strain so far, especially one who is super duper healthy and a fast grower.
Will switch to flowering this week.
Just tidy my grow room and removed all discarded leaves laying around!
Beautiful strain so far, smelling lemony kushy with a hint of skunk, the smallest one does not smell nice, like cat piss...weird smell, remind me of one I grew long time ago that smelled like green cat piss and no high...time will tell!
Tidied room and pushed things around so now we have a little more space, transplanted medium one into final bigger pot, and I am still using house and garden bat soil because plants seems to love it! I just wish they would use less perlite and check final product better because I found way too many big rocks.
Took some cuttings from all Gelatos hopefully we have a keeper!
Started flowering on New year's Day!
Happy new year to all fellows grower,
May Marie Jane bless us with many bountiful harvests in 2019!
So far so good, I am praying it stays that way during the dreaded flowering period...So added some more boost pellets and with at least 7 litres of special bat soil on top.
I am hoping it will keep water to ph neutral and more space for roots to spread.
I have decided not to ph water because I am growing in soil and most of the time i did it went bad into flowering.
Instead, I will make sure roots have lots of space and not to let the soil dry too much or wet too much! lol sounds easy enough lol
Also before switching to flowering I did some defoliation and removed lower growth. I think I could have done it a little more, I will cut some bigger fan leaves in half later on.
I cannot find the bio tabs I received from RQS...Silly me, wanted to use the flowering one, so if I cannot find it I will get some flowering bat liquid.
All is well so far, they did not stretch too much, mind you there is still 1 week more before flowering is on full...
One is extremely vigorous and looks promising...time will tell!

Changed MH lamps for HID 400w.
Still stretching and so far plants ok with change of light.
The biggest one smells of orange peel, very strong, loving it, the other one not producing trichomes yet.
Plants did not like HID switch, leaves started to dry up and some yellow contour on one(medium one) just 4 days after..
Decided to revert to MH for a while, will change back to Hid later.
Also stems are becoming very dark red, perhaps due to flowering hormones and or stress?
Is it genetic?
Anyway...from those three gelatos we have a clear winner, the biggest one has started to smell so nice, strong orange peel, some guava and candy and respectable buds...
So happy I took some cuttings this time, because this one is a keeper!
The medium plant smells like light fruity kush candy floss and sadly she is the one that reacted adversely to the switch of light...
Time will tell.
The smaller one smells cheesy, she is a slow bloomer so far, but maybe she will develop monster buds? Lol I can hope!
Peace!
Have three very different phenotype, the smaller one is growing like a bushy indica, the biggest one is like a sunset sherbet, growing fast and smells very strong citrus orangy peel with strong earthy sweaty smell and the medium one is a mixture of the two other but smell is sweet and smell like a pink bubblegum.
Almost the end in sight for the biggest baddest one, very fast to grow and flower, very beautiful Green gelato phenotype, this one is my Tangerine Gelato dream, courtesy of Royal Queen seeds, top shelves!
This one is definitely a keeper.
The little rut, wee one is turning out to be a Big Bud strain look like, or perhaps Dr Grinspoon with indica leaves??? She is making tonnes of flowers but king of fluffy so far, and she is smelling like Cheese.
Far from finish
The medium one is slower also buds more chunky and smell like a earthy pink bubblegum. Very nice also.
😍Thank you Royal Queen seeds!
Wee one is taking off and exploding 😋 she is a fox tails Queen!
Wonder if she will pack up or be fluffy?
Harvested 2 buds from the big one, should have waited but I have no more stash so...
Only water for her now, the two others some Epsom salt and a light bloom feed.
😉
Last week for the medium one, already harvested the top colas on the bigger one, and last but not least one is still producing flowers so might be 2/3 weeks more.
Clones I made are growing vigorously, will flower them as soon their mother is done.
Very strong phenotype, and lots of potential if grown right, I can see lots of improvement I can do to make her better, with more trichomes. I must find the right spot under the light, I have tendencie to put them to high under the light and stunt them, also not to move them around roughly when in full bloom, because it look likes MJ hates iT.
Spotted some bananas on the tip of one bud...removed but I am so scared to pollinate the glueberry I might have to harvest earlier
She is so eager to reproduce!
Harvested big and fluffy one, now called Big Bad Wolf, you know the one who huffed and puffed at the three piggies, lots of air lol but still formidable predator.
she smells old school, spicy, earthy, sweet liquorice, with some cheese, lovely!
Nice smooth taste when inhaled and sweet earthy liquorice on exhale, but I am sure curing will add extra layers.
I think I have roughly 80/100g.
Will let the cuttings Lady marmalade and BBW finish and then close this diary.
Light feed 1ml/l of seaweed, nettles, and worm liquid feed, no pH/Ec checks.
Very strong strain, nice bud formation, looks exactly like mum..duh!
Happy 420!
Very happy grower with this strain, very strong, cerebral high, this looks like a F2, meaning high variation between them, I had 3 totally different plant, I could see the parents, first the best one scoring 9 out of 10 the sweaty orange pheno, a vigorous hybrid that finished in 8 weeks and was very much like the description given by Royal Queen seeds on their website, the high was cerebral first and relaxing after few blunts, the second one Big bad wolf had huge buds but very fluffy, very long finisher, much harder to grow so with better environment then mine could grow much tighter buds, she smells like peper sweet liquorice and earth, very nice effects after smoking, high is very mellow and grounding, the third phenotype is more cookie like, medium size and slight citrus and sweet earthy smell.
