Hi there growfam,
I just had to do an autoflower for once and what better way then a prizes strain. Fastbuds grows look amazing on growdiaries and this one stood out for it's fat buds in a lot of grows.
So I ordered 2 seeds and got 2 for free because of 420. But since I never did a autoflower before, I decided to start with just 1 plant and see how this all goes.
Like my Purple Queen grow, the sun will provide all of the light. I do this because I want to see the difference between sunlight and artificial light, since I've only ever grown in a tent with controlled artificial light schedules. Also the sun hours where I live are going up, so I'm confident that she will get enough sun throughout her lifecycle.
Ofcourse there are other factors to take in account to. But isn't that the fun in growing, figuring out how different strains/plants react to different environments.
Let's goooo, I'm excited to do this. Hope you are with me on this one.🙏🏽
See you on the next update.
04/28/2024 update: she went into the soil on the 27th but I forgot to take pictures of her tap root which was about a cm when I placed her in the ground (sawwy🙏🏽😅).
Hi there growfam,
Germination went well and within a week she was in het air-pot. She is an active one, that eagerly turns towards the sun everytime I turn her pot. She just loves the sun☀️🙏🏽.
Nothing much else to report other then that the weather is nice the coming days and she is outside "dancing" in the spring breeze.
See you on the next update growme's❤️
Hi there growfam,
The first week went well also because the weather was nice with a lot of sun. The outside temps weir descent enough to let them bath outside and catch the breeze.
Started measuring pH and saw that my water had a to high pH value. Added some pH- to the water and it seems to be working on my other plants which are a bit older then this girl.
When the stem gets a bit thicker I'm going to start training her but for now we're golden.
See you on the next update growmies
Hi there growfam,
This week I waited for her first true leafs to come through and started training her, exposing those baby colas to some sunlight so they can start catching up with the main stem.
She seems to like the sun, but after some rest at night she really shows her growth the morning after.
Pleased to notice it's just been smooth sailing until this point, hopefully it stays this way🙏🏽
See ya'll at the next update👋🏽
Have a good one growme's
Hi there growmies,
Started this weeks diary a little late but have not been neglecting the young lady!
So as you can see in the pictures I stopped LST of the stem. I took off her first set of leafs from the first knot and took off the lower shoot on the second knot as it would have been void of light for a lot of the time, which she obviously doesn't have a lot of so better put that energy to use somewhere else.😉
Happy how she is turning out, no problems what so ever. Lets see how she does with the stresses that I put her through 🙏🏽
See you on the next one growmies.👋🏽
Hi there growfam,
She is now definitely in flower, last week I wasn't too sure but this week you can see pistils forming along the colas. I skipped a week because I didn't have time to get a diary done.
I'm super excited to see how much she is going to produce even dough I'm not expecting much because of her size now.
Overall I'm pleased with this grow but I think I already know what I would do differently. But that is something for the review after this grow.
Have a good week growme's❤️
Hi there growmies,
After a few weeks of silence, im back with an update. She is doing well outside, we have had a couple of good weeks of weather so she has been putting on some weight.
I gave her some guano to boost flower production overall and some bioboost for a direct boost. Hopefully it works but we'll see.
Will see you on the next one.
Have a good week growmies🙏🏽❤️
Hi there growfam,
As you can see, the lady is maturing well. I was worried that she would not take off because I was a tat late with the guano. But last week she really started to fatten up the buds. Seems like every day I see her getting thicker buds.
According to Fast Buds, she should've been done by this week but I think she still needs at least 2 weeks. Which is a good thing so that she can still benefit a bit more from the guano🙏🏽.
That said, this strain is unreal! The stresses this lady has been through with the weather (she has been outside the whole time during flower, even in the rain and stormy winds!) and still she pushes out such good flowers. I didn't expect her to do so well given the circumstances. Hopefully her taste is as great as her sturdiness 🙏🏽.
Have a great week growmies ❤️
Hi Growmies,
This grow was not about growing the biggest plant but a test on how Natural sunlight compares to artificial light. I can be clear on one thing: natural sunlight gives a better terp/trichomes development, at least within my setting. This is probably due to natural UV rays within sunlight which is harder to get in a tent.
Also the cost of this grow was so cheap, that if I would sell 3 grams I would have my whole investment in this grow back. So cost wise an outside grow will always beat an inside grow, especially with the current energy rates where I live.
So after the drying process we will do a quick taste test before jarring it up to cure. That will also be the time I weight my buds, wet weight is not important to me.
Hope y'all will come by later for the final verdict but for now, feel free to scroll this diary and if you have any questions feel free to ask those and I will try to answer yours ASAP.
Have a good one and hope to see you in 10 days or so👋🏽
