Two RQS Northern Lights Auto seeds dropped in water on Sunday evening, then into damp paper towels after approximately 24 hours. First seed popped Tuesday afternoon then the second on Wednesday evening. Left them a little longer to see if the slower seed would catch up then planted on Friday. Using 11L fabric pots with an 80/20 mix of tomato soil and perlite. Humidity domes and sitting in the balcony greenhouse for now. Update: unfortunately only one of the seeds managed to sprout. The slower seed just never caught up.

Traveling a lot at the moment so this seedling is getting minimal intervention for the next couple of weeks.

No real update this week as I am traveling. Weather has been warmer and wetter so hopefully some good growth waiting for my return.

Back from traveling. Plant has grown a bit but honestly not as much as I hoped. Still doing better than my Easy Bud plant was at this stage! Perlite seems to be making a difference but maybe the generic tomato soil is still too hot for seedlings.

Discovered my soil is severely lacking nitrogen in comparison to specialized mixed soil such as Light Mix, which might explain the slow growth. Top dressed with approximately 80g of 12-0-0 horn meal, and started feeding grow nutrients with every watering. Hopefully it still has time to get bigger.

Little bit of a growth spurt with the better weather this week. Also seeing the first signs of pre-flowering. Hoping the extra nitrogen I’ve been adding is making a difference. Still not expecting much yield from this one. Lesson learned: pay attention to the NPK values in the soil.

Big growth this week with the hot weather! Needed to feed every second day. Definitely hitting pre-flower now with quite a few bud sites showing. Hopefully a bit more stretch before flowering really kicks in.

Some more stretching this week. Smell is noticeable from a few metres away now. Started adding Biobizz Bloom into the usual Grow nutrient mix.

A little bit more height this week but more noticeable is the canopy getting thicker. Buds are beginning to form. Upped the bloom nutrients. Smell travels a bit further.

The canopy looks much thicker after another week of good weather. Two of the outside branches are now taller than the central one. Buds are continuing to fill out. Smell is quite strong on the balcony but not from further away.

Lots of feeding this week. Dropped down the grow nutrients. Some odd discoloration and curling on a couple of leaves but overall the plant looks good. Buds are continuing to fill out and smell is getting much stronger. Not sure if that is due to this plant or the Dosidos sitting next to it.

Getting close to harvest time. White hairs have mostly turned orange and the buds are fattening up. Lower leaves are beginning to turn yellow, possibly related to eliminating the Grow nutrients. Not too concerned given how close it is to harvest.

Almost there! Upped the Bloom nutrients again this week for a final push. Hairs have turned orange/brown and I’m seeing the first few amber trichomes. It is so sticky! Going to give it a few more days then harvest this weekend (day 88 or 89).

Harvested on day 88. Wet trimmed and hung for 24 hours. Smell got too intense so bucked the wet buds off the stems and into a paper bag to help manage the smell. Wet buds alone weighed 75g.
