Day 8 - Monday 24th June To plant the seedlings the first thing I do is make a nutrient solution with 2l plain water, 0.1ml neutralise, 2ml Connoisseur coco grow A&B, 4ml voodoo juice and 4ml b-52. Next i prepare the pots by filling them to the top with coco, making sure it’s compact with no gaps. I then remove a bit of coco from the centre and push a container a bit bigger than the plug in the centre and top the pot back up with more coco again making sure it’s compact with no gaps. Then using a syringe I water round the container in the middle of the pot with 200ml of nutrient solution and remove the container leaving a pre made hole for the plug to fit in nicely. Then one by one each coco plug is carefully planted in the 1Ltr pots. Extra coco is added to fill in the gaps around the plug. I water round the base of the seedling stem with 50ml of nutrient solution, then using a flat object I compact the top layer of coco including around base of the stem to give the seedling extra support in early growth stage. They will now be left to dry back untill the top layer of coco has turned to a lighter colour, which should take between 3 to 5 days. Day 9 - Tuesday 25th June To maintain humidity levels while temps are high by me I refill the Ram 5l humidifier every 24 hours to keep humidity around 60%, without the humidifier humidity is around 40% which is abit low for this stage of growth. One seed still has the shell coating stuck on but is still growing so I’m going to be patient and wait, as I’ve read the cotyledon leaves will eventually push it off.
