Hey everyone,
I'm starting a grow with my very first Fast Bud seed! After reading some grow diaries for the Gorilla Cookies Auto strain, I'm really excited to give it a try myself.
I used the paper towel method for germination, and the seed sprouted within 24 hours. It broke the surface on 19.06.24 which I call day 0. It's now planted in a 500ml pot filled with Janeco Light Mix. I couldn't use the final pot right away because I'm waiting for some space to free up in my grow tent. I'll be harvesting a plant in about 10 days, so it should be ready soon. After that the new plant will be transplanted into a 24l pot.
My setup:
Light: Spider Farmer SE3000
Tent: DiamondBox Silver Line SL80
Inline fan: Spider Farmer 6inch with carbon filter
Fans: Two Spider Farmer 6inch oscillating fans
Extras:
- Dehumidifier in my grow room
- A grid elevated on shelf legs to raise the pots, facilitating easier watering. The drainage flows through the pots and the grid, collecting in plastic bottles beneath
- Bluelab pH pen
Thanks for reading and happy growing, everyone! 🌱
Start of the first week of vegetation. Stem is a bit too long since I removed the humidity dome too late and the plant didn't get enough light but that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Only sprayed the plant for the first two days. On day 3 I gave 150ml of tap water @pH 6.3 with 0.2ml Root Juice.
Day 6: Soil is still moist.
New set of fan leaves starts to develop.
Day 7: Sprayed the top layer with appropriately 100ml of tap water @pH6.3 with a microdose of Root Juice.
And that's it for this week. Not the best, not the worst. Next week we will transplant and hopefully see some more growth so stay tuned for that. Happy growing everybody! 🌱
Beginning of Week 2: There are still no roots visible at the bottom of the cup, so I'll allow it a bit more time to grow. Nonetheless, the transplantation will take place this week.
Very happy with her development so far. Hope she will continue like that, but we will see.
D8: Soil is still moist.
D9: Stopped spraying and gave 150ml of tap water @pH6.5 with 0.6ml Root Juice.
D10: Transplanted into new 24l pot and gave 500ml of tap water @pH6.5 with
- 2ml Root Juice
- 0.5ml Calmag Agent
Time window for topping will open in 2 days, looks like it will need a little bit longer though
Day 11: Soil is still moist.
Day 12: Soil is still moist.
Time window for topping opened. Side branches are not strong enough yet though so we'll need to wait a few more days.
Day 13: Soil is still moist. Side branches are strong now, would've topped her but didn't have time and didn't want to rush and fail. Maybe I'll do it later today.
Edit: Topped her, really fast development of lower branches allowed a timing that early.
Only now I realised that one finger of one of the fan leaves is missing. Have been on a festival yesterday, slept 2 hours and went to work, so my view was slightly distorted.
Day 14: Soil was dry so I gave 1l of tap water @pH 6.4 with 1ml of Calmag Agent.
She already recovered from the cut and is continuing to grow.
And that's it for this week. Thanks for reading and happy growing everybody! 🌱
This week, we'll likely begin the low stress training. Her side branches are truly flourishing, indicating that she has recovered remarkably well from her topping.
Day 15: Soil is still moist.
Day 16: Soil is still moist.
Day 17: Soil is almost dry. Will need to water soon.
Day 18: Gave 1l of tap water @pH6.5 with
- 4ml Root Juice
- 2ml Cannazym
- 1ml Calmag Agent
Started to LST by bending down the two top branches to create an even canopy.
Day 19: Soil is still moist.
Added two more LST stakes to tie down upper branches. Lower branches start to catch up in height in will need to be tied down soon as well
Day 20: Soil is almost dry, maybe I'll have to water today.
Day 21: Soil is almost dry, will water tomorrow.
That's it for this week. Pretty decent development, really looking forward to the upcoming explosion of vegetative growth. Thanks for reading and happy growing everybody! 🌱
The lady really had a good start in her young life and will hopefully keep developing like that. Eyes are open for signs of preflowering
Day 22: Soil is still moist
Removed the 2 vertical new nodes on every branch. ✂️
Day 23: Gave 1.5l of tap water @pH6.5 with
- 3ml Canna Terra Vega
- 1.5ml Calmag Agent
- 2ml Cannazym
Day 24: Soil is still moist.
Day 25: Soil is still moist.
Removed some new branches that would have grown vertically. ✂️
Day 26: Gave 2l of tap water @pH6.4 with
- 4ml Terra Vega
- 4ml Cannazym
- 2ml Calmag Agent
Day 27: Soil is still moist.
Side note: Plant seems to be droopy today. Maybe too much water, maybe just too early after lights on. Or maybe too much nutes. Will keep an eye on that.
Day 28: Soil is still moist.
And that's it for this week. Seems like she began to stretch, but I don't see any real signs of pre flowering yet. Won't take much longer I think.
Thanks for reading and happy growing everybody! 🌱
This is probably her last week in veg. Strangely, I haven't seen any white hairs yet, even though she's definitely stretched over the past few days. I don't mind if she takes her time; it just means she'll be even taller in the end.
Day 29: Soil is still moist.
Day 30 F1: Soil is almost dry.
Edit: Changed week from veg to flowering since I found some hairs and the stretch is remarkable. I call this day "F1" and will include a counter for the flowering days
Day 31 F2: Gave 2.5l of tap water @pH6.5 with
- 3ml Calmag Agent
Day 32 F3:
Soil is still moist.
Wow, she exploded over night, stretched her heads and grew a lot!
Day 33 F4:
Soil is still moist.
Removed LST stakes since my tent lacks horizontal space.
Edit: Plant already "stood up" after only 2 hours. Took the chance and removed some lower leaves to complete lollipoping. Will have to add LST stakes again maybe.
Day 34 F5:
Gave 2 liters of tap water at pH 6.5 with 2 ml of Calmag Agent. The plant looks droopy, possibly due to being too dry or the light being too intense. Will need to monitor closely.
Day 35 F6: Soul is still moist.
Plant isn't droopy anymore after her watering and after increasing light distance. She's the tallest plant in my tent currently but unfortunately she doesn't have the most tops.
Finished lollipopping, maybe a little bit too late into bloom but she should be fine.
And that's it for this week. So far I'm pretty happy with her development even though she probably won't be the biggest yielder. Thanks for reading and happy growing everybody! 🌱
Second week of flowering and the stretch is not quite over. Thinking of installing a trellis net to use my available space more efficiently. She is very thirsty right now, will need to have a close eye on that. She's droopy in the morning still (more than my first plants) but seems to be doing alright.
Day 36 F7: Gave 2.5l of tap water @pH6.5 with
- 4ml Calmag Agent
- 5ml Canna Flores
Day 37 F8: Soil is still moist.
Tried to install a trellis net yesterday but gave up since I got another plant in the tent that is already at late flower and I don't want to harm the (beautiful) buds.
Day 38 F9: Soil is still moist.
Damn, she's tall! This is the tallest autoflower I've grown so far, but I would prefer a denser canopy.
Day 39 F10: Gabe 2.5l of tap water @pH6.5 without any nutes.
She's getting thirsty, probably a sign of bud development.
Day 40 F11: Soil is still moist, but pot actually feels really light again. She's thirsty!
Installed a trellis net, will probably need to adjust though.
Edit: She stood back up quite well, really pleased with how many main buds we get know.
Day 41 F12: Soil is still moist but will need a watering soon.
Day 42 F13: Gave 3l of tap water @pH6.5 with
- 3ml Cannazym
- 3ml Calmag Agent
Thanks for reading and happy growing! 🌱
A new week approaches but the game plan stays the same: Watch her grow while trying to supply all the nutrients she needs. There's really not much more to do to be honest.
Day 43 F14: Soil is still moist.
Day 44 F15: Have 5l of tap water @pH6.5 with
- 10ml Canna Flores
- 7.5ml Calmag Agent
The stretching phase isn't quite over, so I adjusted the trellis net to create an even canopy. This plant is filling a large space of 40x80 cm; without the net, she might have reached the lights by now, lol! For future grows, I'll definitely use the net again. It helps utilize the space more efficiently and results in more main colas and fewer popcorn buds.
Day 45 F16: Soil is still moist.
Day 46 F17: Soil is still moist.
Edit: Increased light intensity a bit to see how she will react.
Day 47 F18: Have 4l of tap water @pH6.5 with
- 4ml Cannazym
- 6ml Calmag Agent
- 4ml Biobizz Top Max
Day 48 F19: Soil is still moist.
Stretch seems to be over, bulking phase begins.
Day 49 F20: Soil will need water tomorrow.
She is behind in bud development compared to other diaries but had a longer vegetative phase in which she grew massiv - I think she will give me my biggest harvest so far.
Thanks for reading and happy growing everybody! 🌱
We expect the lady to bulk up this week. I'll defoliate a little bit when I have the time to ensure the buds get direct light. I also noticed that some leaves are completely shaded, so I'll remove those as well. The only other thing to do is to give her some water and nutrients.
D50 F21: Will water when I got the time.
Thanks for reading and happy growing! 🌱
