Day 0: I soaked the seeds in a container with water for 14h. I could already see the germination
Day 1: I placed the the seed with the radicule in cocoa plugs. My growing pots still haven't arrived and I still have no grow tent. My anxiety to see the cotyledons coming out grow by the second. I will travel this weekend, and all I think are these 2 plants. Will the cotyledons be there already there in 2 days?
Day 2: I kept the plants next to the window, no emergence yet, the temperature was 20.5 C and the moisture around 90%.
Day 3: Here they are! I see the emergence, but the seed shell is still there blocking the cotyledons. The cotyledons are still closed. I managed to remove the seed shell to help the plants. I added a few drops of water to keep the cocoa plugs moist.
Day 4: I finally placed the plants in my DIY grow box for the very first time. Plant 1 (unammed) is 40mm, and Plant 2 (also unammed) is 30mm. Both cotyledons opened.
Day 5: Plant 1 is 65mm and Plant 2 is 40mm. The apical buds of both plants start to show that the first leaves are on their way...I decided to pot them today as I just saw that the roots were growing outside the cocoa pod.
Day 6: Plant 1 75mm and Plant 2 60mm. Slow development of the first leaves. Upgraded my tent: added reflective film and the exhaust fan. So far aiming for VPD at around 0.4kPa. Added Biostimulants to my plants. 180 ml per plant (2ml biostimulant/400ml water).
Day 7: Plant 1 80mm and Plant 2 60mm. I now added a Mi Flora sensor to monitor a little bit more information about the plants. Spent the last nights working on my Home Assistant Dashboard.
Day 8: Repotted the second plant as there was no space for the 2 big big drip trays.
Day 10: Added 0.75 g ammonium nitrate and 1.25g of magnesium sulphate/L and irrigated both plants with 1L. The second pair of leaves started to show
Day 12: The second pair of leaves developed. But first only one part of the leaf came out
Day 13: Added 1ml/L BioGrow and 0.5g/L of magnesium sulphate. Today I can see that the second pair of the compost leaves opening the other 2 parts.
Day 14: 500ml of water per plant
Day 15: Added 0.3g/L of Potassium Chlorine (KCl) and 10ml/l of coconut water, and added 500ml per plant.
Day 16: 1ml/L Bio-Grow and watered 500ml/plant
Day 18: Ammonium nitrate 0.35g/L + Magnesium Sulphate (0.5g/L) = 1L water for two plants
Day 19: Bio-Grow 1ml/L + 10ml/L coconut water + 2ml/L biostimulant = 1L water fot two plants. Started the LST training for one of the plants.
Week 3 started!
I removed 4 suggar leaves from each plant to give enough light to the lower buds. Then I guided each bud to grow on the side. My plan for next week is to cut all apical buds that come again, to double the number of side and apical buds once again. But let's hope the plants won't suffer much with the stress.
After removing the leaves I noticed that the plastic hooks I used somehow also damaged part of the roots, so I soaked all both plants with water, and turned off the fan for today to make sure they do not suffer much more.
Week 4 of Vegetation started today.
Not sure of when the flowers will pop up. so far they are not showing around. Which I see as a good thing as it gives the plant more time to continue vegetating and hopefully increasing the potential yield.
This week I took some effort to make sure that all lateral buds are as far apart from each other as possible. My goal was to have an open canopy for the flowers that will come.
Are the flowers coming soon? Let's see the next days.
This week I used Bio Bizz Root Juice 1ml/L every second day. I am going to reduce the rooting agent, but I wanted to make sure that I could see the roots reaching the bottom of the pot, which I could see on day 34.
Day 36: I added 1,5 tea spoons of mycorhizae again to make sure that I have the heathiest plant as possible before the flowering stage.
I will update how much I fed the plants later. This week was grazy, one plant grew a lot, the other is somehow blocked...
This week started well, Plant 1 nearly doubled in size in one week. I turned the lights a bit higher, but the plants did not like it so much.
One night I messed up with the exhaust fan, and for 5 hours the plants were staying under 32 degrees. Plant 2 that was not gorwing much leaped within this time. But later I read that this is normal for cannabis plants, and that is not really healthy.
This week I see that the plants metabolism is getting higher. Last week they were under 21 degrees during the day due to a small issue with my heating automation. Now the VPD is mostly at 1.1 the whole time and the plants are drinking a lot more water, around 1,5 liters per day.
Week 10: This week I could see a big development in quality, the trichomes from the top were milky, but the trichomes from the middle and bottom were still transparent.
I changed the light schedule to stress the plant a bit before harvest.
Day 65: I started flushing the plant to remove the leftover nutrients from the soil, but I could not see much of a yellowing 12 days later. The organic fertilizers probably were bound to the organic matter in the soil and did not get removed from the water. At least part of it.
This week I flushed the plant once and stopped watering 5 days before harvest. The plant was left 2,5 days in complete darkness.
The trichomes from the top and middle of the plant are probably 10% amber and the rest milky. The bottom smaller buds have the majority milky and some trichomes still glassy. I chose to harvest now because I prefer a more energetic high over a couch lock CBN high.
My first grow, my first harvest!
I havested the plant on week 11, day 77. Left for drying for 7 days.
The growing experience was incredibly nice, nothing complicated. I wish I had water the plant a little bit less at flowering, as the plant felt a bit stressed afterwards.
@Maryjane23, Thanks!
I do not know why the plants grew so compact. Mine look quite different than other Orions I saw. I wonder if I should turn my lights into a lower setting. Any suggestions?
Day 10: Added 0.75 g ammonium nitrate and 1.25g of magnesium sulphate/L and irrigated both plants with 1L. The second pair of leaves started to show
Day 12: The second pair of leaves developed.
Day 13: Added 1ml/L BioGrow and 0.5g/L of magnesium sulphate. Today I can see that the third pair of leaves developing.
