This beauty was kindly donated by grower MaxPointy, check out his grows. This is a monster crop clone taken from a flowering plant about 8 weeks ago. It was revegged in Sunshine Soil #4. I put it into the 12/12 flowering tent as soon as I got it, and top dressed it with worm castings and bone meal. Many clones were taken from this genrous plant.
Approximately 70ish days from seed. One week of 12/12 flowering. I was told Buddha has about a three week stretch so I am not surprised there wasn’t much progress. It was weakened from transport last week so it likely took a few days just to perk up.
Approx. 78 days since being taken as a monster cropped clone, two weeks of 12/12 flowering. It took a couple days to recover from transportation so it may be a bit behind two weeks. Regardless, it seems content filling out more than stretching. Just giving water.
86 days since being monster crop cloned.
Turns out in my environment Laughing Buddha has closer to a 2-2.5 week stretch to start flowering. The bud sites are actually more developed than i was expecting at this point. Not really any smell yet.
So far so good, I will plan to start some nutrients next week. I did have some extra mix of Sunshine soil #4, sheep manure compost, worm castings, and bone meal from my other grows and so I did top dress again. I plan to flower this plant for 13 weeks so I expect it will need all that nitrogen.
Approx. 92 days since being taken as a monster cropped clone. 4 weeks of flowering done. Nine weeks to go.
This thing is showing those mad Buddha genes. This strain is the most vigorous grower I’ve seen in both veg. and flowering. The potential for a plant of this variety but vegged for much longer, or an outdoor warm climate grow, is insane.
I know that the donor, Max Pointy, was feeding in veg. but I have only amended the soil via top dressing to this point. I started the flowering feeding routine now, applying 0-10-10 Alaskan Morbloom today.
Approx. 100 days since being taken as a monster crop clone. Laughing Buddha is a great strain, vigorous and resistant. This plant does not get phased by nutrients, “feed me more.” No tip burn from the Alaskan Morbloom last week, and no excess of blackstrap molasses this week. I dialed back the molasses dose based on Sour Jack 2018 (IV). The resin is nice and strong, a musty sort of smell.
Approx. 107 days since being taken as a monster cropped clone. 6 weeks of flowering complete. This plant is looking really good, the air doesn’t smell very strongly but the resin is insane. A nice musty cheese smell. I have about 5-7 weeks left before harvesting, depending on the plant and patience. Just water this week.
Approx. day 113 since being taken as a monster crop clone by MaxPointy. This beauty continues to swell. I have been able to steadily feed it nutrients but I did notice some bright yellow leaves after last feeding. It was strangely localized (just on one branch). I will intersperse more waterings in between nutrients. About 4-6 weeks to go.
I last fed 0-10–10 Alaskan Morbloom.
Day 120, 8 weeks of flower complete. This baby is swollen! The branches are heavy and sway if disturbed. The resin is so smelly and sweet. I recently fed Wholesome brand organic blackstrap molasses. 3 weeks to go!
Day 128, 9 weeks of flower. Its in its water-only cycle. I am probably going to harvest it next weekend. The buds smell beautiful, and the resin is strong. Sweet and musty. The bud sites have swollen so much the plant is struggling to keep them upright, some are leaning. I expect this will be my biggest and best yield. This strain seems great.
Quick turnaround, end of day 132. This is the last look before harvest. I put it in darkness at the end of Thursday, and will harvest Friday evening/night sometime at my convenience. The buds are so swollen they can barely support themselves, and I had to support tie one that I bent/disturbed by mistake. Harvest will be at 10 weeks.
Not a completely full review, my experience was a monster cropped clone that was donated to me by Max Pointy. It was ready to be flowered immediately so I had a hand in half its life.
One of the most vigorously growing strains it seems. It came defoliated and it filled out tremendously over the course of ten weeks of flowering. It consumed alot of water and loved nutrients, it took awhile to show any signs of overfeeding. The buds were swollen by the end.
The resin was very strong and musty/sweet. It was the highest yielding plant that I have grew so far, and I was pleased with the largest 8gram bud. I want this strain to be in my regular rotation!
I flowered for 10 weeks. Harvest went as planned. I’ll be forced into consuming a little sooner than I’d hope but the major buds will get a good cure. I’m happy to have gotten the hang of it as this plant yielded substantially more. One major flaw with the end state was the lack of drainage holes in the container. Max Pointy has since started drilling holes, and mine have always had holes. This probably reduced the effectiveness of the final flushes and drowned the plant at the end.
