Day —6: I put each seed in their own glass of water and added 3 drops of hydrogen peroxide. Day -5: both seeds have popped a tiny root. Day -3: LSD 1 has a 10mm root while 2 only has a 7mm root, I decided to plant both anyways. I started them out in a coco and vermiculite mix under 180w of cfl lights which they are sharing with some clones I got from a friend. Day 1: both seedlings popped. Day 2: lowered cfls as close as is safe to stop the babies from stretching Day 3: #2 has stopped stretching but #1 seems determined to be squiff regardless of where it’s cfl is 😅 Day 7: the stems have gone purple and the leaves are showing purple tints. This could be a result of cold, genetics (hopefully🤞🏼) or the babies are already hungry (kinda doubt it though). Gave them a light 100ml 1/3 strength feed with hortimix A and B. Not much I can do about the cold at the moment.

Day 8: purple on leaves and stem are fading slightly. Day 9: growth is speeding up 😁 #2 is growing skew now. I have a feeling this is caused by the plant trying to avoid the heat of the cfl (not sure if that’s actually a thing plants do) to stop this happening with #1 I raised its cfl slightly but now it just seems to be stretching 😕 Day 11: Gave them their first feed.

Day 15: I’ve been watching small patches of damage forming on #1s leaves. I initially thought it might be some kind of tiny leaf miner but by looking at my other clones, which have more developed cases of what ever this is, I think it’s russet mites. Gave both plants (as well as all the clones) a spray with pyrol, so I suppose it doesn’t matter what type of creepy crawly it is because it should be dead now 😂 Day 16: I noticed a brown patch forming on #1, it’s also visible on the pic of day 15. Not sure what it is just yet, praying it’s not root rot 🤞🏼 Day 17: the brown patch on #1 was spreading fast so I decided to cut my losses along with the leaf. Day 19: there are brown spots forming on all the lower leaves of #1. I spotted one of the little buggers that have been bugging my baby’s. It’s thrips. Gave all my plants a spray with Neem oil, I’m hoping it will help stop the spread of what ever that brown spot is, because I have a feeling it’s some kind of fungus or a virus caused by the thrips. Day 21: moved #1 outside, I sadly don’t have any other growing space to put it, to avoid it contaminating my other plants. #2 has some brow spots on its lower leaves so I decided to remove them to avoid further spread. Sprayed all my plants with a mix of hydrogen peroxide and Neem oil.

Been a bit of a rough week for #2, leaves are warping and curling and I’m not sure what the cause is. #1 has been moved back inside and seems to be doing better. Day 23: gave plants a feed Day 25: sprayed all my plants with Neem and hydrogen peroxide mix. Day 28: gave both plants a feed

The week started out rough, but what ever is causing the damage seems to have slowed down slightly. I’m putting the finishing touches on and painting my hydro room tomorrow, so I should be able to move the ladies by day 37. I’m hoping having them in a better ventelated and more isolated area will help deal with what ever is wrong with em. Day 29: removed the lower leaves on #2. The yellowing on the leaves had spread and there were browish grey spots forming on their tips. To be honest I’m not sure what’s causing this so I kinda went into panic mode 😅 Day 31: gave both plants a feed

I had an insanely busy week, as a result I didn’t manage to finish off my hydro room. The girls took a bit of a knock because of my neglect, I wasn’t able to tend to them for 3 days and when I got back I saw they had some serious issues going on. I pulled the classic newbie move and over fed them quite heavily... Day 40: gave them both a flush.

Another nightmarish week. I’ve been juggling too many balls and these plants are amongst the balls ive dropped. I still can’t figure out what is bothering my baby’s. I’ve been flushing them every watering to try clear their nut burn, although I suspect that the nut burn is only half the problem. Day 44: flush Day 47: flush

Finally moved them into hydro on Tuesday (day 51) . The swap to hydro, and the light nuts feed I’m giving the plants seems to be slowing down their leaf damage.

I’ve noticed what looks like nitrogen toxicity in #2, although #1 doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of it. At the same time #1 is showing some signs of deficiency. I’ve realized it was probably a mistake not to flush the ladies for a couple days when I first put them in the hydro set up.

Gave them a flush this week. The brown patches on 1 have been spreading slowly, 2 started showing light yellowing patches that precede the brown patches towards the end of the week. 06/06: started flush. 10/06: cut short what was going to be a week long flush short because #1 seemed to be getting worse, not better. Im also going to try a new nutrient ratio.

Not all together a bad week, or maybe I’m just getting used to constantly having issues 😂 they’ve been growing well since I started feeding them again. Although there was some kind of bug sucking the leaves dry, leaf damage looks a lot like what thrips would do. I didn’t manage to spot any of thrips though. 13/05: gave them a Neem spray. 16/05: gave them a pyrol spray because the Neem didn’t seem to do anything.

Despite being the same strains, these two seem to be doing completely different things. #2 seems to have nitrogen toxicity, while #1 still has little brown spots which lead to the leaf eventually yellowing and dying. Neither plant is showing signs of the others issues. Because I actually know what’s wrong with #2 I decided to tackle its issue. I gave them a flush most of the week. 22/05 started flush.

Growth seems to be speeding up 😁 i feel like im slowly but surely getting the hang of what type of diet these girls like. The nitrogen toxicity seems to be a bit better. I started the week with a 1,5:0:3 Hortimix A:B:C ratio, Hortimix B is a about a 45:50 calcium nitrogen mix. The brown spots on #1 began appearing on #2, I’m pretty sure it was a calcium deficiency. Both plants also started showing signs of what looks like a potassium deficiency. So I upped their nutrients (on 30/05). I only mixed B in at half strength. 30/05: gave a pyrol spay.

Pretty smooth week. I’m not really sticking to a tight nutrient schedule, rather just feeling it out and seeing how the plants react. I took an hour off their light cycle each day starting on Tuesday, so they were on a 12/12 cycle by sunday.

Things seem to be going well, aside from a few technical difficulties. One of my buckets isn’t draining properly, so I’m having to shorten the plants watering times by manually watering them. I plan to flush both plants for a week.

I got back from a weekend away to find #1 has root rot. My ph meter, which has been acting buggy, has finally given up. To combat the root rot I changed #1s bucket with a spare I had. I also have her roots a bit of a trim in order to get rid of as much rot as possible. I’ve also doubled the amount of Hydrogen Peroxide im using.

I took my Ph meter back, to get tested, in the hopes my warranty would get me a replacement. I also finally got an EC meter. Through the EC I’ve been able to tell that the plants are still feeding, although I don’t think they are taking in the full range of nutrients. Despite everything seeming to go wrong, it’s awesome watching trichomes starting to frost up the sugar leaves. Note in retrospect: After getting a new Ph meter I tested my water and it read 6.8, so I’m going to work on the assumption that the water was around this point for the weeks I didn’t have a meter.

The girls have been struggling this week. The root rot seems to be gone, although the water in the system was slightly murky at the end on the week, also smelled slightly, although not how it did when there was root rot. #1 is still taking strain. Both plants seem to have a couple deficiencies, though potassium deficiency seems to be the most prominent.

This week has been a relief. I finally got my pH meter back. The girls were looking better after a couple days with correctly pH’d water. They’re still in full stretch and not showing much sign of stopping soon, although I hope they do 😅

When I decided to start growing, I knew it was likely going to be hard, though interesting, work. What I didn’t expect was that it would be this much fun 😄 It’s been a pure pleasure watching their growth slow down while their calyx’s fatten, multiply and get frostier by the day. I lowered their nutrients because their leaf tips were showing signs of burn. Some leaves were also showing potassium deficiency, but I think that’s a result of their pH constantly jumping to 6.4 because they were under feeding most of last week.

They seem to have stopped growing upwards and started putting all their energy into bud production. These plants are quite interesting to watch, because they seem to have a couple mutations, some are genetics and some are because of my newbie training skills 😅 I have noticed little flies in the room. Not sure what they are but I know they aren’t just there for a friendly visit.

Started flushing this week. I put up fly paper and they seem to be coming under control. The calyxes are starting to swell and get real sticky. 👌🏽 Terpene production smells like it’s kicking off, it’s kinda sweetish sour. My stoke got a stick in its spokes at the end of the week. Fat Freddy has bud rot... I immediately removed all the nugs with any signs of bud rot, then saved what I could of em.

I’ve gotten a hygrometer and seen my humidity is way too high 🙃 my extractor fans turned off when the temps got low so it was jumping to 70-85% humidity at night. I’ve put my temp settings low enough that my fans run nonstop now. The buds are getting frostier by the day, while some of #2’s colas are getting purple leaves. I had thought that by the end of this week I’d be able to harvest, but tricomes are still majority clear. My grow lights have been making my eyes tweak so I bought some hps glasses, only after working with them on did I realize how much the lights fucked my eyes 😅 I would recommend getting a pair if you’re growing with any high intensity light setup.
