I am very excited for this new run, I will be growing 3 different strains but each will have a separate diary.
This one will be dedicated for 3 Northern Lights Auto from Sun West Genetics, I used the water glass and paper towel method to germinate these seeds, the tap roots came out in less than 24h in the paper towel. After been placed on soil all 3 seeds were poking out showing off its first pair of leaves.
More updates soon, stay lit and tuned folks ;)
Week 2 and the girls spiked to grow, everyday they look different than the day before.
These girls are growing under a HLG Quantum Board I recently got it, the fixture is excelent and the plants do love it! However its been a learning curve to figure it out the sweet spot in terms of distance from the panel to the little girls.
They look healthy, roots are poking from under the solo cups so I will be transplanting them for week 3 to start on 3gal pots.
This is all for now, stay Lit folks 😎
1 of 3 girls is happy with life at the moment, playing with the drip system to find that sweet spot have made them droopy due to bad watering practices :(
The weather in the tent is nice and stabilized,
Nutes as per General Hydroponics chart, not a drop more or less,
I ran out of PH material for the water this is also a problem, ops a daisy :]
All advice and suggestions are welcomed!
Thats it for now, stay lit folks 😎
Recovery at its finest, that's what you will see on week 4 around here! Guess who's loving the CO2 with high temperature? Thats right, all plants are!
The comparison of last week with this week have such a difference, on day 24 I introduced a DIY CO2 bottle, the recipe consist in:
-CO2-
2 cups of sugar
1 tablespoon of yeast
1 tablespoon of baking soda
1 later of warm water
Mix all ingredients on a bottle, make a nail hole on the cap shake a little (when shaking put your finger on the nail hole, you should hear a hissssss when you release the hole) use it when lights are on, increase temperature to 30-35C, watch for high levels of humidity, and voila!
I haven't started any LST yet, I am waiting for a bit more growth to start bending, I have to make sure all 5 plants will have enough space inside this 2x4 tent.
All suggestions are welcomed :)
Thats is for now, Stay Lit folks!
Not much to report for week 5, the introduction of the Co2 is a success, the Northern Lights Auto are enjoying life and showing early signs of blooming.
One of the 3 plants is growing so much faster and bulkier than the other 2 the fan leaves of this particular plant are huge the stems and branches are growing thick and strong the only training these gils are getting is defoliation and LST.
Stay Lit Folks 😎👩🌾🏻
All 3 plants are adapting very well to LST, the shape its growing into have been allowing the light to reach further into the lower growth nodes and branches. I like to start bending the branches close to the main stem as early as week 3 of VEG.
Now these 3 Northern Lights Auto seeds are from Sun West Genetics, they were all germinated, planted, trained, fed the same way they have been on the same controlled environment since day 1, the 3 are totally different, I know each plant is unique in its own way, but I find strange that 1 plant is taller and stronger than the other 2, the smaller one is growing weak leaves with signs of mutation, all 3 plants show signs of Magnesium deficiency, these 3 plants are sharing a grow tent with a Haze Auto from Seedsman, all 4 plants are under the same diet, the Haze have no signs of deficiencies or mutations, I guess that shows what good genetics look like.
For the Magnesium deficiency I have mixed my own Epson salts into water and applied as a foliar spray, internet said the spray should be used every other week, wait 2 weeks to see results.
Signs of Nutes burn, I decided to stop feeding for this coming week.
The 3 NL leaves are looking unhappy, kind of clawing under, they look lifeless, I have ruled off a few potential problems such as:
Wind Burn
Under Watering
Water PH
Light Burn, just moved the QB higher to 17 inches from the highest canopy today.
If any of you fellow growers have advice for the leaves, please let me know.
Stay Lit folks 👩🌾🏻
I have introduced a second bottle of CO2 to pump flowering weeks, I have cut off nutrients completely to get rid of nutes burn, plants are been fed PH water only.
For this run I have been using a DIY automated drip system that cost me less than $100, this system can be used to feed up to 10 plants, now I can go way for days without a worry :) if anyone is interested here is my Instagram video: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bwm1kO0BTNC/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
