This was a last minute grow that only really happened because I was curious as to how much faster this particular strain
from seedsman of Jack herer labelled as FAST was in a comparison with another strain of jack herer fem with normal flowering time of aprox 10 weeks. The plants are however about a week apart from eachother from when the seeds were germinated but I am only comparing actual flowering time from first pistils to harvest
I've had success with utilizing a small dwc bucket with airstone for the first week to promote rapid root growth 😃
After being in the dwc bucket for a week I transplanted her out into a 30 litre plastic pot filled with my own soil mix
Consisting of some coco coir, worm castings , compost and a handful of dolomite lime.
She will remain in the pot until her flowering bed is ready next month
This bed has been used to grow a cover crop of beans over summer and they are coming out shortly.
I gave jackie👊 her first feed today of Grow fast organic from Professors nutrients
Week 4 and she is doing nicely
I gave her a nice spray of seasol which is a magic health tonic consisting of seaweed and fulvic acid
I will wait one more week and then top her once and get ready for transplanting into her final position
in the next few weeks . 👊
The final position I mention is a pre prepared garden bed filled with worm castings manures compost etc etc 💪
week 5 now and I have topped her
She responded very well and is growing quite nicely
I will be transplanting tomorrow into a pre prepared garden bed filled with organic soil , worm castings , compost and chook shit.
I also add my own worm tea made from worm castings and mollasses bubbled for 3 days 😀
Week 6 and I have transplanted her into the garden bed where I'm hoping she will have a growth spurt during
the pre flowering stretch.
Gave the plant a half strength feed of professors A & B nutrients to make sure she had a Good start
Week seven and she is showing her preflowers 😀😀😀😀😀
Time to switch to the ozi magic Monsta bud and let's see what happens 😃
I'm thinking possibly sativa dominant???? 👊
Two weeks into flowering and she stretched quite a bit and still might have a little in her ?? 😃
Loving the way this plant grows 😃
Fed her some go green to combat any nutrient deficiencie's
WEEK 10 and 3 weeks of flowering over with
I have not had one single problem with this lovely kangaroo Jack
and I am very happy with the way she's growing
week 11 and 4 weeks of flowering
No plant pics this week so here's some pics of the wildlife
These creatures are a Native bush marsupial Not a rat as it may seem
Although these guys can be a real pest around young seedlings
Week 12 and 5 weeks of flowering
The buds have changed dramatically and are definately beginning to fill out
I have constructed a plastic sheet cover for when it rains so that the majority of the water runs off
Some of the pistils are noticeably orange in colour
There is a very pleasant aroma and medium level stickiness when a bud is gently squeezed
Week 13 and 6 weeks of flowering
I am impressed with this plant and how it's progressing
I have another seed of this so will definately grow this one again as it looks like I may have a nice
Sativa type pheno by the look of the structure I quite like the smell she's producing too
Happy Grows
The last week was a real test of my patience as I had to wait out a big rain storm ,then
icey hail and strong winds 😨 before I could get outside to see how old jackie held up.
Which to my suprise was remarkably well , 😯considering the night we'd just experienced.
She was still standing without any damage other than being totally wet thru because the makeshift cover had blown
off with the winds. 😯
But with it still raining off and on she had no chance of drying properly so Jackie got chopped and her branches
are now drying in a vertical herb drying rack.
Next update will be with dry weight and trimmed pics etc until the peace and love 👊
Please keep in mind I have not cured yet
I have smoked a joint and I can safely say it's damn fine grass!! 😄
It has a pleasant spicey taste with a fruity undertone yet smells more like pine
Instant head stone followed by a relaxing calmness that would be good for both chilling out by yourself or socialising with friends.
Growing it was a breeze It got transplanted 3 times and didn't miss a beat 👏
I'm sure that if she had a little more time to veg in the garden bed she could have been a lot bigger 😀
This started out as a side experiment to see if this strain being labelled as "Fast" was any or much
quicker than it's regular photoperiod counterpart Jack Herer.
She was topped and got transplanted 3 times in all which did not seem to phase her one little bit.
By the end of the 7th week of flowering she had mostly cloudy trichomes with a few amber ones amongst them.
I would have prefered to leave it another week to flush completely but the weather had other ideas.
So I would say 8 weeks is the optimal time to harvest this strain whilst her regular counterpart sister strain is in her 9th week
and still needs atleast another week longer.
My conclusion is the jack herer fast finishes atleast 2 weeks quicker than jack herer regular photoperiod
however with probably 20% less yield or thereabouts. 👽
Now to explain the kangaroo pictures
When seedsman recently announced their 420 competition I decided to use this diary but I needed to come
up with a little extra to add to my diary so thinking how much I like our furry national emblem
and the movie Kangaroo jack This is what I came up with. 😆😇 Thanks @Seedsman 😉
I love kangaroos even in a stew 😝
Update 29/4 I have had the buds curing in a large mason jar for a week or so
Decided to Smoke some this morning and it has Already improved!!
No sign of any grassy taste now more of a minty flowery fruity taste
Nice buzz with a clear head yet very relaxed and chilled
Perfect for creative projects like this 😜
##############UPDATE SMOKE REPORT 26/6/2019 ######################
The buds that I kept curing have developed a tangy taste and the high seems to have changed a little it seems more of a creeper now . 👌👌😛
