i had to go out of town the weekend right after i germinated, so i rigged up an automatic irrigation system that would water it once in between when i was away. Worked like a charm, when i came back from NYC, all my seeds had broken through the soil
Had to go to new orleans for 5 days, my auto-irrigation setup failed and was barely giving water to the plants , they grew slower than they could have, so i may have stunted a bit of their growth this week. Despite that, they seem healthy and buds are on one of them are starting to mature. The other 3 are close behind.
I posted a video of the timelapse during the time that my auto-irrigation failed. You can see the spurts of growth from a faulty irrigator only releasing a miniscule amount of water. This resulted in the plant slowly wilting, then exploding in growth when a tiny amount of water was released. (about a cup every two days, for about a week.)
Otherwise, been watering when pots dry out, then a full runofof fill
carbon filtered tap water (un-phed) treated with 3mg per gallon cal-mag suppemented
Besides that, no nutrients have been added because I've been using FFOF, and the soil is WAY too hot. Will not use again
Gave a small dose (1mg) of tigerbloom. vegetative growth has slowed, but buds are preparing to fatten up. the smell is sweet and pleasant. not permeating throughout the house though, its contained to the tent.
They are growing very short and bushy, Its hard to tell where the main stem even is anymore from all the LST.
got a digital microscope -- including some cool pictures of trichome development on the most mature plant
vertical growth has really slowed, and buds just seem to be fattening up every day. Posted a picture of the stark difference in phenotypes for these seeds. I am a scientist by career -- and although not a master cannabis grower, i was super careful to keep variables across all four plants exactly the same. Check out the difference in one of the photos -- it is a picture of the bushiest plant versus the lankiest that just didnt want to branch out. You can also see the difference in flowering stage. Once again, all four plants were treated exactly the same.
these are getting pretty pungent, and even touching them makes your hands reek for a while!
one of the plants (this one has been far ahead in maturity since the beginning) has started to burn pistils and has some amber trichromes, so im gonna keep my eye on that
I had to do a lot of defoliation because im having some nutrient deficiencies, which i think that I've tracked down to a PH problem. Will see in the coming days.
not much new this week, growth has pretty much come to a complete halt.
just waiting for buds to ripen at this point! Have stopped all nutrients and will water with only water until harvest
I probably won't grow this strain again, just due to the growing difficulties, short lifespan, and low yield, although the bud is definitely quality. I learned a lot as this was my first grow, and the next I'm hoping for better yield quantities.
