Day 35 since being taken as a clone. A gift..... wicked. A little knarly and it due for a nice long veg. I’m excited to get a new strain going, I have grown White Widow Auto from Crop King Seeds before GrowDiaries and it was great.
Approx. 41 days since being taken as a clone. The new growth is getting bigger and its pushing out green leaves. A little more time before the explosion. Patience is needed and eventually some plant food...
Day 48 since being taken as a clone. I trimmed the leftover damage/growth from before cloning and now you can see the vigor. Nice green, waxy, new growth everywhere. The funkiness will dissipate with time and everything will look more normal. Patience! My fondness is growing .
Day 55 since being cloned. I have repotted this one as its now regularly growing. It still is struggling to put out the traditional marijuana shaped fingered leaves, but its stem is getting stronger. I did not have much amendment on hand so I repotted with sunshine soil #4, myka microculture, blood & bone meal (7-5-0), pulverized egg shells, and a small amount of used coffee grinds.
Day 63 since being cloned. Its taken awhile before semi-regular leaves started to show. I did tie it over to get many bud sites. I’m looking for the branches to gain some thickness now.
70 days since being cloned. This plant has already had a great journey from yellowed, twig clone stage to the start of beautiful green bush stage. The tone of green is really nice. I’ve been monitoring the streaking of the stems and did feed some 24-8-16 Miracle Grow All Purpose plant food with a dip of molasses. I anticipate the branches gaining thickness here on out. I have continued the LST and tying.
Day 77 since being cloned. Still nice and healthy, gaining size, chilling out. The progress overall has been great. I haven’t given any more plant food since last time. This plant has five more weeks until being moved to flower.
Day 84 since being cloned. I have majorly splayed this plant. The stiff branches will take a bit to adjust and start vertically growing again. The green on this plant is very lush, the leaves very distinct. I transplanted to a final ~10 gallon pot size thanks to another grow. I primarily used VPW20 soil, sheep manure compost, and 7-5-0 blood and bone meal. This plant has 4 weeks left to veg. Loving White Widow so far!
Day 91 since being cloned. The canopy is starting to gain height and uniformity. Still a lovely green with distinct leaves. Nothing changing, a bit high temperatures thanks to the summer. Three more weeks until this gets moved to flower.
Day 97 since being cloned. Just water lately. It is gaining size and girth. By topping selective branches the canopy is starting to become even. I will soon start transitioning the food to flowering mode.
Day 106 since being cloned. This baby has exploded, filling out nicely. I’m really happy with the vegetation it has gained in the last week or so. Ready to flower next weekend... the last of its generation to make the switch.
I will likely pre-feed with transition nutes this week.
Day 110 since being cloned. The canopy is not bad in the end, and the plant has some bushy size. It is time to transfer to the flowering tent... next update will be In stretch. I fed 18-18-21 Miracle Grow tomato food with a dip of Earth Alive Big Blue Alga and blackstrap molasses today.
(Last photo is in my flowering tent, its new home).
Day 117 since being cloned. One week of flowering complete, eight weeks to go. The stretch is on! This plant was already squat, and being overshadowed by the rest so it is stretching to get light too. I actually rotated the container to allow the branches to grow uniformly. I just gave the last of the 18-18-21 Miracle Grow Tomato food, with a dip of Earth Alive Big Blue Alga and blackstrap molasses. Excited to see what type of buds White Widow produces.
Day 124 since being cloned, two weeks of flowering complete, seven weeks to go. Wow! I know that stretch was not yet complete, but I am shocked by the last ditch stretch. I think the lack of light, as it was furthest away and the most squat, may have caused it. It now blocks all access to the tent. Its a good problem to have I suppose. I am about to finish the 2-7-7 Shultz Cactus food with a dip of Earth Alive Big Blue Alga and blackstrap molasses tomorrow, then onto the last food.
Its like Jumanji in there!
Day 131 since being cloned. Three weeks of flowering complete, six weeks to go. Nice buds are starting to form, and I’m hoping the plant can close the node spacing with flower. Kind of classic smell, not too strong yet. I had to trim some undergrowth just to be able to work in the tent. All my flowering plants are a bit too big, making it hard to work and snap pictures. The last two are standard to my four flowering grow diaries, and are attempting to show the whole tent. All you can see is White Widow and another plant blocking the view.
Day 137 since being cloned. Four weeks of flowering complete, five to go. This plant is coming on strong, I am excited! The branches are very thick ad sturdy, and are dotted with bud clumps. Its interesting to see heavily topped crowns spotted with balls of white. The smell is very stock, traditional. Still fun! I most recently fed 2-7-7 Shultz Cactus plant food with a popsicle stick dip of Earth Alive Big Blue Alga and blackstrap molasses.
Day 143 since being cloned. 5 weeks of flowering complete, 4 weeks to go.
When I built my current setup I built two tents, one that is 6’x4’ and one that is 4’x4’. The available electrical hardware, and timer situation, and my thought process on working with clones made me choose the larger tent for veg. Since then, I realize clones need much less light, the rest of the tent has sat empty, and I’ve been heating my larger tent with two sets of CFLs. But now I’ve upgraded my timer and power bar, and have flexibility, ...
I’ve switched my two tents. The 6’X4’ tent is now my flowering tent, and my 4’x4’ is now my veg. tent. I have moved Widow over to the new home. There is the main LED standard to both tents, four tube CFLs (2 warm, 2 cool spectrum), and the six yellow spectrum LED lightbulbs. The last two pictures attempt to show the main four from the previous flowering tent. Another note to make is my oscillating fan broke so at the moment there is no circulation other than the outtake fan. The thermometer is currently under the canopy so the reading is a bit off.
Tomorrow, this plant gets the first of its last food type before harvest.
The branches are long and lanky, they aren’t strong enough for the buds. Some branches are already laying on other branches.
Day 150 since being cloned. Six weeks of flowering complete, three weeks to go. One last feed left (tomorrow) and then water for the rest. I am shocked by how much frost there is, White Widow has many trichomes all over the leaves - its wonderful. The smell is not anything special, sort of musty, dank. Hoping the buds close some of the gap a bit more as its only clumped up each branch.
For those following I had said my fan broke - I didn’t wait long to replace. I just reused a larger Costco fan my family no longer needed. I placed it on its side and have it on the highest setting. The air is circulating, I have a feeling I am getting a more accurate flowering temperature/humidity now. The main canopy is not badly disturbed, and air flows underneath where I have stripped vegetation.
Day 157 since being cloned. Seven weeks of flowering complete, two weeks to go. Wowzers! This beauty is dripping in resin. I had to bouquet this baby and tie her to the top of the tent. The buds are really heavy and sagging. I thought yield would be small but she has bulked up! For those following my many failures and struggles, its a good reminder I can grow some kickass bud, sometimes. With two more weeks I expect great things. Just water, I’m done with the 0-10-10 Alaskan Morbloom at this point. Time to use up the nutrients! The smell is musty/dank.
Day 163 since being cloned. 8 weeks of flowering complete, one to go. This baby is drenched in resin! The buds are very dense, I am ultra paranoid about mold these days. Lots of trichomes and resin, lots of dank smell. Just water. Harvest next weekend, can’t wait! Not much more to add.
I was worried about mold based on other plants in the tent and just time, but nothing. White Widow is resistant it seems. I would reiterate that harvest was really a pleasure, not hard work. Bud formation really makes a difference with the hassle of trimming. I’m going to have to get another clone or two of Widow based on this experience. I see why it is commonly cross bred, lots of desirable traits.
