Strain
This review is for Crop King’s CBDutch Treat from seed. This is reported as 4%THC and 8%CBD and this is reflected in a mild and relaxing high (and a friend reports medicinal effects from batches I’ve grown). The taste and smell has been consistent, as cream, mixed with peaches, maybe a tad tropical, very pleasant.
The genetics produces a fast growing plant, very vigorous. Easily cloned. The buds get big and dense, but not rock hard. Moreso spongy, and the product sheds hairs easily. I can see that it is a big yielder which is great. This time around the buds were a bit lighter, plus more below.
The tradeoffs with this grow were mold and yield. First, a big splotch of mold on a main bud (see week19). I did have some humidity spike, but the area was on top, with plenty of fresh air. Disappointing. To add, I also have an outdoor CBDutch Treat outdoor GrowDiary that also was cut short due to mold. So this strain is weak to mold. Too this point, I ended up throwing out the moldy crown, I didn’t try to cut it out. It was very large and would have boosted my yield easily over 30grams. 5-8 grams would be a conservative estimate and that would put me near my average per plant. I’d also suggest that I am picky during harvest and compost that isn’t fully developed or dense. That said, 28grams is not going to cut it, I will look to improve that.
I cut up all the buds for drying as opposed to hanging, and it ended up being a serviceable crop. Very useful for mornings or before work, less intense than other strains. Working from my top CBDutch Treat rating I would subtract one for the mold and one for the subsequent loss of yield, thus 6/10.
