Okay, so this is a Black Indica clone taken off one of my previous indoor grows. I took a really nice clone that just sat in twig form, in the background. Eventually, after weeks, it sprouted. It has been a few months vegging away, I don’t really know how long, so I’ll just say this is day 1 counting. I repotted using VPW20 soil, and a light mix of sheep manure compost, worm castings, blood and bone meal pellets, alfalfa meal compost, pulverized egg shells, and used coffee grounds.
I’ve grown Crop King’s Black Indica before and the experience and smell were fantastic, the product was a tad mild. I’m hoping for an even better grow this time.
This is day 10 since counting. Better growth now as it starts to stretch and gain size. I anticipate the main stem getting stronger and stronger. Everything looks good and is set up with the rest of its generation.
Day 14 since counting, third update. I topped one stalk as it was quite taller than the rest. This little plant is just steadily, and quietly growing in size. I like the looks of it so far. Just water and patience needed.
Day 21 since counting for this clone. It has exploded and become bushy overnight. I’d like to have thicker branches but will be patient. No need to top just yet. Not much trimming going on. A little hot and dry in my tent unfortunately, however no adjustments needed.
Day 28 from when I started counting for this Black Indica clone. This is my biggest veg. plant at the moment and will be transplanted in the coming weeks. Still, thin branches for the most part. I’ll be honest, this clone sat for quite some time and I lost track of the type of clone... I perhaps recall taking a monster cropped clone. If that were the case it would explain the insane branching (without LST), and the thin branches. Regardless, no issues thus far.
Day 36 from when I started counting for this clone. Everything is looking good and it has many, many branches. I’m topping in order to keep the canopy even. As mentioned before, I have this weird feeling and made a mistake and this is actually a monster cropped clone - which explains the natural branching.
The green has started to lighten and I notice the slightest pink on the stems so I applied some 24-8-16 Miracle Grow All Purpose plant food while taking the pictures.
This plant will be transferred to flower in about 4-5 weeks. I will still likely repot it one more time.
Day 42 since I started counting for this clone. Early in the week I fed 24-8-16 All Purpose Miracle Grow plant food (or maybe last week). But I noticed it was drying its container out too fast, so a transplant was needed. This is the final repotting, to the mega ~10 gallon. I used VPW20 soil, sheep manure compost, worm castings, Myka microculture, and a light mix of blood and bone meal, alfalfa meal compost, pulverized egg shells, and used coffee grounds. This plant seems slender for its bushiness so I have needed to be careful when handling.
Day 48 since I started counting for this clone.
I’ve always had a two tent set up. When I initially built them I made a 6’x4’ veg. tent, and a 4’x4’ flowering tent. Available electrical hardware at the time, and wanting to clone and do things in the tent, I thought I’d use the extra room. I’ve since learned clones like so little light that they can’t be in the veg. tent at all really. I had extra CFL tube lights heating the 6’x4’ in winter, and most of the tent was empty, until...:
I upgraded my timer, and a power bar, and have switched my tents. The 6’x4’ becomes my flowering tent, and my 4’x4’ flowering tent becomes my veg. tent. A good trade.
I have moved the yellow spectrum LED light bulbs over, to complement the standard full spectrum LED that I have in both tents, and the 4 total CFL tubes (2 warm, 2 cold). In general, there is about 550Watts of actual draw, but its spaced out in the tent. I have the CFLs and four yellow lights towards one end (the Black Indica end), and the main LED and some yellow lights towards the other end. I will rotate the plants through as they mature. The last two pictures try to illustrate the full tent.
Another thing to note is my oscillating fan broke, so for now there is no circulation. I only have the outtake vent. Thankfully its getting cooler in my basement. The temperature reading is slightly misleading, as the thermometer was sitting on the shelves under the canopy. I need to find a place for it, that isn’t on top of the lights, which would also be slightly misleading.
It has been awhile since I fed anything, and I will just transition into the feeding schedule as normal. Many tops to this plant, as stated I’m forgetting if it is a regular or monster clone. Tons of crowns on the way! Thin branches make me a bit concerned. Beautiful
Next week will be the first flowering update.
Day 55 since I started counting for this clone. One week of flowering complete, seven weeks to go. This plant had a nice first week stretch period that was evenly distributed between sites. Everything is looking really nice. Food upcoming tomorrow.
For those following I had said my fan broke - I didn’t wait long to replace. I just reused a larger Costco fan my family no longer needed. I placed it on its side and have it on the highest setting. The air is circulating, I have a feeling I am getting a more accurate flowering temperature/humidity now. The main canopy is not badly disturbed, and air flows underneath where I have stripped vegetation.
Day 62 since counting for this clone. Two weeks of flowering complete, six to go. The stretch is basically done, everything looks good. Space has been cleared and its taking up one of the quadrants under the main big LED light. The bud sites have formed nicely and everything is going well. I’m skeptical that it will be able to support all the bud. Food has been 18-18-21 Tomato Miracle Grow plant food with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses.
Day 68 since I started counting with this Black Indica clone, maybe monster crop clone - I forget. Three weeks of flowering complete, five weeks to go. Lots of thin branches, lots of bud sites. To be honest this plant is a pain and its massive canopy is inconvenient. Hopefully it can support itself. Not a bad flowering time so we are almost there and the flowers are gaining mass. Most recent feeding was 2-7-7 Shultz Cactus Food with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses.
Day 75 since I started counting for this Crop King Black Indica clone. Four weeks of flowering complete, four more to go. Halfway. Most recent feeding was 2-7-7 Shultz Cactus food with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses. This plant is so bushy, with small compact nugs. I don’t anticipate a huge yield but the little buds are really nice. This plant was overcrowding everyone so I had to tie the branches as a bouquet and to the frame of the tent. The last group shots show the before and after. Now another plant has light and the general circulation is improved, though it means poor circulation within the plant’s branches and everything below the surface doesn’t get light.
Day 82 since being cloned. Five weeks of flowering complete, three weeks to go. Most recent feeding was 0-10-10 Alaskan Morbloom with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses. Everything is looking fine in terms of visuals. A sour, sank smell from the buds. Lots of orange hairs. The flowers are very small, I’m not sure if its the small stem size or if its the multiple branching. If you have been following I can remember if its a regular or monster cropped clone. Looks like harvest may be a small yield of tops.
Day 88 since I started counting for this Black Indica clone (monster crop clone?). Six weeks of flowering complete, two to go. This plant is due its last feeding tomorrow and then water for the rest. I am preparing to keep it in the tent for an extra week based on the small size of the buds. Don’t get me wrong, they are beautiful, and smell strong of sour/dank/skunk. They are starting to become plump and fluffed. But they aren’t super dense, nor are they large.
Day 95 since I started counting for this Black Indica clone. Seven weeks of flowering complete, one week to go. I’ll likely keep it in the tent an extra week to get some bonus swell. Just water at this point as the buds fatten up. I will say they are getting more dense and maybe the plant will be a bit more hefty than I was fearing. The smell is a pungent dank, sour sort of smell. Its crowding out some plants, but thats okay.
Had a little hiccup yesterday as there were wind gusts in my province and my power was out for eight hours, November 1st FFS. So the plants got like four hours of light, interrupted, and then like 30-45 minutes of light when the power came back, and then a dark cycle again. No worries, but sort of weird. My basement got pretty cold during this but that only helps the trichome production.
Day 101 from counting for this Black Indica clone. Eight weeks of flowering complete, this is the projected timeline. Slight change, I will in fact harvest this weekend. I had stated I would keep it an extra week, but other plants were waiting to be switched, and my schedule became clear over the next few weekends. i.e. its convenient for me to chop this weekend and spread it out. It also quickens the pace at which I would gain another strain to vape at the moment. It may have bulked a bit more but overall I think the buds are going to be small and compact no matter what at this point. Just water, I’ll give it a flush tonight as it gets ~24 hours dark. My basement is super cold right now and this will only help it get nice and frosty. Next update will be harvest.
Great harvest, I was selective which made things easy. Gave a flush and the usual extra darkness before chopping. Not much else to say other then its worthy of trying but I wasn’t concerned with not ending up cloning it in the end and using all my seeds.
