Everything was going great with the veg. I use a custom spectrum 36w led to get a nice compact plant with large stems. Then the power went out and not being there the co2 system used 2/3 of a bottle in 3 days when I use 1/8 of a bottle for the whole cycle. The plants grew about 10-15 cm in 3 days leaving me with these big lanky plants. As you can see in the last photo. I think I should invest in a surge protector and battery back up for the co2 system.
Okay, this is 3rd week of bloom. I can fast track this diary because I'm actually at week 8 of bloom and starting flush so I will put them up as I get time. In my last dairy I got a really good bud structure using my custom spectrum 36w par lights for veg and start of bloom, but spindly buds, I think from over water, because the roots in the 50l pots went straight down to the air stones I have in the bottom of the pots. This time around I dropped the water from 1-3 litres a 50l pot to 0.2-0.3 litres a 15l pot. The buds are diffidently a lot denser.
Normally my co2 bottle only uses 1/8 of a bottle for the whole run but unfortunately in the last week of veg I had the 450w leds on and the power went out coursing the co2 controller to fail and it used about 2/3 of a bottle in 3 days before I realised. the plants grew about 10-15cm but really spaced out nodes and lanky stems in the end smaller buds. So I don't think I got conclusive results in my change of watering experiment with Purple LEDS .
everything went well this week. leaves are stating to yellow a bit early but the buds smell great. I'm flushing 3l though each pot manually because I am watering so little amount there is no run off. at this point when I flush the run off reads the same as the ressy 1200ppm.
Leaves are yellowing a bit earlier then normal. everything has been on target. ppm in the pot starts at 1180ppm and by the end of the week it has built up to about 1600ppm. then I have been flushing 3l per pot to get it back down to 1100ppm, repeat. theses buds smell absolutely beautiful. Oh I upped the PK .5ml per litre for this week coming up. I backed of the A&B a little to keep the ppm at 1180. I'm going to now turn the co2 off for the last couple of weeks.
This week the weather got really warm and the room temps got as high as 40c. The plants handled it okay. this is the first week with out co2 and it looks like there getting a second wind. looking forward to harvest.
I only have a few bud shots for week 8. I have started the flush now and the garden will be on it's own for at least 10 days flushing while I'm away for work. looking forward to getting home to harvest.
So this garden has come to the end. They have been flushing now for 12 days and are looking and smelling spectacular. Day 68 of bloom and time to harvest. I'll let you know how it goes. I can tell you the northern light is an absolute pleasure. The kush is just nasty, it is making my eyes and nose hurt, my lips tingle and just sticking and clogging everything up. 1 bud and I feel sick. I took a few pictures of the buds at the pot because I love the way these plants have great buds all the way to the pot..
Great plant to grow will definitely keep this strain. It is really good to scrog with. buds for 9-10 weeks. pleasure to trim and smoke looks and smells great
This stain yielded less but is extremely potent, I think I have some of the most potent buds on the planet. I don't think this stain liked my scrog method as the lower branches and up in prime position but produce small buds. Tipping this strain may work better..
This is truly one of the greats. easy to grow, great yields indoors. and great produce. This plant loves the scrog method producing big buds from lower branches. Pleasure to trim looks and smells great.
